"X"?

There is going to be an Ultimate X match at SummerSlam? Awwww shit!!!

I really don't want to see Mark Henry attempt to climb across that rope. That poor fucking rope would snap like Randy Orton at anger management class.

Is it correct that as of this evening, there are only five announced matches, or have there been additions to the card that I am unaware of? Would seem to suggest either a late addition to the card, or a cash in or two of briefcases (really hope not).

Only five matches.

You need to take into account what the matches are though and add the fact that WWE will have a live performance from Cee Lo Green, countless advertisements that they always do at SummerSlam and interviews.

CM Punk and Cena needs at least 45 minutes IMO. While Orton and Christian, although not the norm in PG WWE, need a solid time space to really show the extent of animosity between one another. Like, at least 20 - 25 minutes of violence.

Still only five matches though. Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely purchasing this PPV and I'm not complaining, it just seems odd that even if we allot 45 mins for Punk/Cena, and 30 minutes for Orton/Christian V, and even 30 minutes for ads, interviews, and Green, it still leaves a lot of time for the remaining 3 matches, especially one of them being a divas match (5 mins tops ) and Sheamus/Henry, 10 mins tops.

Last years SS had only 6 matches . We have Cee-Lo' performance and something from Miz which will fill time.

I know you're not, I was more answering.

Also, The Miz is rumored to feature somewhere in a makeshift match. So, yeah, between a Miz promo and an actual match, I'd imagine a good extra 20 minutes or so.

I think both main events will get somewhere between 30-35 minutes. I think Miz will end up having a match as well. Who will his opponent be? No clue, but he said something still competing at Summerslam. Six matches work. That leaves enough time for the two main events to be fucking epic, and not much fluff. We don't need a shit ton of filler.

I'm willing to bet that Miz is going to come out and cut a promo complaining about how he had no match last SummerSlam and how he refuses to be left off the card two years in a row. Then Rey will come out and grant him that match.

Stupid idea by the WWE not to advertise that match in the first place as I think it's a pretty decent match, but I guess they're really banking on Cena vs. Punk to carry the card.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Orton/Christian get a solid 15-20 minutes, but I doubt they'll get any more than that, especially considering how long they've been working each other.

For the second biggest show of the year, I'm not really feeling it. Sure the title matches will be good, but where's the rest? Oh yay we get a concert.

Ziggler/Riley could still be on the card though. A lot of stuff has been left unbuilt this year though ... it's odd how the midcard doesn't get built very much heading into PPVs this year. 10 years ago an IC title match would be built like it was a main event.

One time they even furthered Jericho/Benoit on Heat.

Last month's card had one more match. I'm not getting the animosity.

Anyhow, I've thought of and braced myself for every possibility in Cena vs. Punk. A Punk heel turn or a clean Cena win will leave a lot to be desired, but I'm ready for almost anything else. I also hope we don't get a Vince McMahon power play the likes of which would make Vince Russo, Eric Bischoff, and David Milch blush, but they would probably save that for a Raw or something. So I can breathe easy tonight.

Humor me: When's the last time a non-Ironman match went one hour in the WWE? Would WWE have the balls to pull an hour draw out of nowhere during Cena vs. Punk?

That didn't go an hour. I remember it going something close to 55 minutes of television time (including commercials). I'm talking about an actual hour.
