I am SUPER stoked for that main event. Even though I'm a humongous fan of Frank Shamrock, I could never root against Nick Diaz, who is right up there with Tito Ortiz as my favorite MMArtist of all time. But man... it's going to be hard for Diaz to win this one. Size won't really be a problem even though Nick has fought at 160 his last couple of fights and Frank has been fighting at 185 pretty much his entire career, because Diaz is still taller then Shamrock, and even has the reach advantage. However, Frank's stand-up has vastly improved and I think Nick has to be very careful when on the feet against Frank because Frank throws some fucking bombs. And on the ground, Diaz is without a doubt better, but Shamrock is stronger so Nick will probably have trouble getting on top of Frank.

But whatever. The only thing for sure is that the fight, and everything leading up to it, will be FUCKING AWESOME! These two know how to run their mouths, and both always put on entertaining fights. So it's bound to be a FOTY Canidate, that's for sure.

As for the rest of the card, don't really care for it to be honest. Josh Thomson vs. Gilbert Melendez should be really good, but the rest of the fights should all be one-sided, with none of the preliminaries even airing.

Okay guys, I updated my first post, since it was mostly filled with false rumors. Strikeforce has the card nearly fully set, and it should be a great, great show, if only for the main event.

In the meantime, here's yesterday's press conference for the show. It's entertaining as hell. I said in the original post that not only should the fight between Diaz and Shamrock be spectacular, but everything leading up to it should be a blast as well, and this press conference is full proof that I was 100% correct. Decent card. Aside from the main event, only matches that stand out to me are Cyborg Santos's match, and Benji Radach's. The main event is definitely the only reason I'm watching though. Diaz and Frank are already hyping the match up pretty good. Not too sure how to call this one. On the feet Frank throws the harder punch, but Diaz might have the more technical boxing. On the ground the edge definitely goes to Diaz, but i doubt he will be able to get Frank down since Frank is much bigger then him. So this one should be a stand up war. I don't see Diaz being able to knock out Frank, but with his range advantage he can keep his distance and land more shots. Earning him the UD, but there is a good chance Frank can catch him. I'll be cheering for Frank in this one.

Man.... great, great show tonight.

I am SOOO fucking stoked over Nick Diaz’s complete domination over Frank Shamrock! I really like Frank and I hope he can rebound from this, but Nick Diaz showed tonight why I’ve believed for a long time now that he’s one of the very best fighters in the World. He was truly phenomenal tonight. I mean, he kicked Shamrock’s ass.... BAD. I never had any doubt in Nick’s ability in the cage, but man oh man I never expected him to completely dominate Frank Shamrock like he did. I mean, no one has ever dominated him like that, I don’t believe. Definitely not here in the states. Unbelievable. I can’t wait to see what’s up next for Diaz. I really wish he could go to the UFC now, because there’s not a fight I want to see more then Nick Diaz vs. Georges St. Pierre.

Scott Smith vs. Benji Radach was definitely fight of the night. What a tremendous back and forth contest that was. I don’t think either fighter is worth a shit against real competition, but fuck... they did put on one hell of a show tonight.

Gilbert Melendez had a pretty cool knockout and looked great overall, but I’m still disappointed Josh Thompson had to pull out of the fight. Hopefully Thompson will recover quickly and this fight will go down sometime soon.

And even though she was seven pounds overweight yesterday, you still have to give credit to Cyborg. She fucked that girl up big time. But man... if women’s MMA is ever going to be taken seriously, then these ladies need to start making weight. Hopefully when Carano and Cyborg square off (and fuck I cannot wait for that one), they both make weight and show everyone why they deserve to be headlining shows.
