Sound effects during matches?

Getting Noticed By Management
I'd never really thought about it until recently, but now that I'm looking for it, I'm seeing it all the time. Whenever someone gets kicked out punched, there is always a loud slap sound. Now I'm sure the sound could sometimes be real, but there's no way it could naturally make that noise during a kick. I'd heard somewhere that they slap their thighs, but I don't think that's it because I've even replayed them a few times and I don't see any way the wrestlers themselves could be making those noises. So where is the noise coming from? My guess is that one of the announcers is hitting a pen on the table. At least that's what it sounds like to me. Anyone have any better ideas?

I have heard from somewhere that they make the sound by stomping with their other foot. IE if they were kicking with their left foot, the would hit the ground loudly with their right at the same time. Alternatively, if they punch they just stomp one or both their foot really hard on the ground. Now as for the slapping noise, i'm not sure. It could be the announcers with a pen, but seems like the wrestlers could still do something to make that noise.

You can slap your thigh or you shoulder for that sound. The slap is done small and subtle though, and may be done by the receiver or the giver, so check all four hands when you hear it.

It's something that alot of viewers over look, with punches and kicks alot of wrestlers do hit something clear of clothing. With wrestlers with briefs like Y2J, Or orton it can come from just about anyware. When they get punched in the middle of the sell look for an arm to come up and hit the stomach or, the other arm. Older wrestlers are quick as hell about this, but you can catch a few younger stuperstars if they are slow enough.

Kicks are alot harder to see because alot of wrestlers will back bump or flop with it. The hardest part about seeing it will be the camera angle, if the wrestler is stiff and they take a quick series of kicks to the thigh or knee they can hit their other leg hiding it from the camera. But if the flop does happen look really quick for a slap on an exposed bodypart.

watch anytime shawn michaels did a superkick... he takes his right hand (kicking with his left foot) and slaps his thigh/ass.. Thats the snap sound you hear... It's what every wrestler does when doing some sort of kick similar to that... watch it again that's the noise you hear

This ^^^is spot on for sure! There were times when Sweet Chin Music was so loud that I though that someone in the production truck had to be adding noise.

After watching both of Shawn's dvd set, you can see the progression and when Shawn really started doing it.
