So which WrestleMania Match was better?

I had some people over yesterday to watch WM. After the HBK and Undertaker match was over we all looked at each other and said, so which one was better, WM 25 or WM26. I said this years just because of the stipulations of the match. It was HBK's last match and I don't think anything could top it. The match yesterday was by far the best match of the night, and easily the best match I ever saw.

Let me know what you think.

I definitely think Wrestlemania 26 was better, it had a better build-up if you ask me, and it had a great stipulation that really added to the excitement, and especially to the Shawn Michaels fans it added the saddened feeling that we might (might!) not ever see Shawn Michaels in any association with WWE again, except for a Hall of Fame induction.

Also, just as last year's match-up it had the numerous finishers that made you go "yep, he's done, this is it!" only to add to the excitement once more when one of them successfully kicked out.
The crash on the announce table, plus the tombstone on the outside, the whole, no count out no disqualification thing was a perfect add to it, which made the match so much more magical (thank god there wasn't any weapons involved, cause that's what I feared would ruin the match)

Plus the end of it was brilliantly handled, Shawn pissing off Undertaker only to be punished brutally, and then the handshake and the hug, and the ovation to Shawn was brilliant, he totally deserved the tribute, and I cannot wait till RAW.

So definitely Wrestlemania 26.

I have to say the WM 26 was better. The storyline building up to it, and the stipulations surrounding it was far superior than last year. Not that it negates how greatly executed last year's was. But I think this will be the match of the year again at '10 slammies. You look at the 2 pioneers who have been with RAW since the beginning, and to see them put it all out there like that. HBK and Taker intentionally mental eff-ing each other, it was sheer genius. The surprise appearance of HBK at elimination chamber was by far and away one of the best suprises of all...you knew Taker would for sure take the challenge. Either way, no matter who won the match, I for one, would have had my heart broken because both are my faves. How do you cheer one over the other, these are guys I'd idolized since I was a toddler, and I'm almost 31 now. That's like asking "choose your mom or dad who you happen to love both very much." You just can't.

26 was better. This time there was no real heel or face but two men who are obssesed. the buildup was awesome and this match was better because it was the main event of the night. I just wanted them to fight more outside of the ring, like atombstone on the steel steps. overall it was awesome even though it would have been better if Micheals one, cummon Mr. Wrestlemania loses two time in a row to the man who spends more time in the hospital than the ring? Still great match

I'm gonna disagree, i think WM25 was better. Though the stipulations of this match added to the tension last year the build i thought was better, with Micheals taking the role of 'good' and 'Taker that of 'evil' this mixed with the match which i thought was so much more intense made everything amazing. It seemed more to me like Undertaker's early knee 'injury' (though i suspect it might have been legit) held the pace a bit and stopped them from hitting any of the bigger moves that they did last year. Don't get me wrong, i think this year's was great, but i think WM25 was better, more time to build, more mind games, better match.

The Hype, The buildup was much better in WM26 and more so ever it was counted as a Main Event of the biggest night in wrestling yr. But when compare to the in ring performance, WM25 was better than 26. Don't get me wrong, but we all agree to it. Last yr, inside the ring there were more finishers, more twists and turns to the match than this year. This Yr. it was the hype more than the in ring performance which made it look much better dan last yr.

I think Wrestlemania 25 was better as far as the ring-work was concerned. For Example Shawn Michaels kicking out of the tombstone was very exciting last year but this year it was kind of expected. but overall build up for the match and the stakes were much higher this year. also in retrospect this year's match was d last match of my idol Shawn Michaels. the match could've been a little longer than what it actually was. last years was around 33 minutes this year's was only about 25 mins. i would say this year's match lived up to its hype.

Wrestlemania 26 was the better match.

The storyline buildup to this match was fantastic and the consequences of both men losing made this match unmissable. These men put on a hell of a show and nobody thought they could top last years preformance let alone out preform it! Throughout the match too both men told a story. When Undertaker screamed "Stay Down" to Shawn it really made me believe that Undertaker is having real problems with this guy and if anyone can beat the streak its him. Too bad he got dropped on his head with a huge tombstone! (Biggest ever)? But nonetheless I'm glad the Heart break kids last match was an instant classic

You will be missed Shawn :(

just the hype alone mad wm 26 the best match out of the two, the great match these two legends two put at last yrs wm just made me salivate when i heard these two wer gonn go at it again and to top it off the conequences made it even more exciting. it just hasnt sank in that hbk is gone. great way to go out though. match of the year , it has my vote already!!

Their match last year at Wrestlemania 25 was the better match. Don't get me wrong, this year's match was great too and the match of the night at Wrestlemania 26.... but it had such a tough act to follow. People are saying the stipulations made this year's match better.... I disagree. Last year's was better because Michaels and Taker wrestled a nearly perfect match, the "Heaven VS Hell" theme, the long string of special moves and Finishers they each used, and the amazing buildup leading up to the match. Add that to the epic match itself, and you got something that cannot (and SHOULD not) ever be replicated. I liked this year's match as well as the buildup and stipulations, which made it deserve to close the show, but their match last year was the better match of the two.

WM25 was definitely the better match. The hype and retirement stipulation made WM26 special, but WM25 was a better match. This year was too similar to last year. HBK kicking out of the last ride and tombstone was not a surprise. Taker kicking out of sweet chin music wasn’t either. It was more like been there, done that. WM26 was good, but it was not different enough from WM25 to be better.

I have to go with WM 26, no question. For me what makes a match is the build up, the hype, the emotion going through it. 25 really had little or none in my opinion. Also I always felt that WM 25 was a tad bit overrated. Was it great? Yes. Was it the Greatest? No. Also kinda with the emotion thing for me at least, someone was going to LOSE either HBK was gone or Taker's Streak was over that adds to the match in my opinion. That and the ending was great, with HBK doing the cut-throat and slapping Taker.

So I go with 26 just because for what I look for and count in a match, so other will be different.

Wm26 had a better build up but WM 25 was a better match. My heart seemed to beat more in this match, it ended fantastically, WM 26 had a better finish with that deadly spike tombstone but it was predictable. as soon as the match at WM26 was announced as a career v streak i already knew it was over for shawn. plus he was talking about his retirement way before this match buildup. Both AMAZING MATCHES THO, 25 better match, 26 better build up...

Thank-you HBK:worship:

I felt that 26 was better overall. I thought the first 10 minutes of the first match was dull and the build was better for 26. It may have been shorter but it was still an enjoyable, emotional contest, and of course the emotional attatchment helped with this match.

well Wrestlemania 26 wasn't too bad like some matches that got me excited but I dont think WM 26 lived up to its potential and only two or three matches got me excited such as Taker and Shawn.

I think Wrestlemania 25 was better in some ways such as having the heated feud with Randy Orton and Triple H, the very well done Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker, good Money in the Bank, the Edge and Joh Cena/Big Show with Vickie Guerrero was pretty well done and many good moments I can remember of highlights and hype for this WM as I do for 26 but I think WM 25 was beter in some ways.
