Smackdown Needs To Change!

Hunted-RKO

The United Kingdom Champion
Now Smackdown has been getting stale in the last month or so and things need to change, after the Draft SD was looking intresting but it died out pretty quick.

The Main Event
We have seen the same fued for about 4 months now and even though tonight at Summerslam is probly there fued ending match they need someone fresh to face Orton.Even though Christian is great i dont want to see him and orton have another match for a long time, but the problem is which heel can step up to the plate and challenge Orton? The obvious choice is Mark Henry but then i think his fued with Big Show & Kane will continue and that leaves u with Wade Barret. Now I Wouldn't Mind seeing Barret having a run as the WHC but then there is a chance that Undertaker might have a fued with Barret if Taker does return at Vengence so then u have Cody Rhodes? He Just one the IC title so i doubt he will go straight up to the ME and i hope that im wrong but maybe Khali might have a go at the WHC.Things need to change on SD and fast. But Maybe Zeke will be turn't heel?

Mid Card
U Have a bunch of young talented guys who all deserve to be given a chance guys such as Daniel Bryan,Tyson Kidd,Eziekial Jackson,Cody Rhodes,Ted Dibiase,Jinder Mahel,Sin cara and others.U Need to realy make the most of these guys because they are realy entertaining.I Think that Cody needs to have a fued with Ted Dibiase which will be something fresh and will be great then u have the lower card guys like trent berrata who atleast derserve to be on the show. SD NEED to use this guys! There just wasting great telents.

Tag Division
U Have a great team in The Usos who have disapeared from the SD scene in the past weeks and i think if they can't do nothing with mid card guys then put them together in a tag team and make something good of it.Then u have the tag champs Nexus who r improving every time i see them so they should use them regualary on SD,Things need to change.

Thoughts?

So what if it's lasted 4 months? It's been a great feud that, in many ways, has had an old school feel about it. The promo segments have been good, Christian has been elevated to the main event spot, both Christian & Orton have done some of their best work and we've been treated to some of the best wrestling matches of 2011 in any company. What makes you think it'll be Orton walking out with the title? Taking the title off Christian just so Orton can have yet another reign is a waste of an opportunity. I don't look for Mark Henry to be a WHC contender. It's just not gonna be a draw. He's great in the current role he's in, but it doesn't scream main event. As for Wade Barrett, he definitely needs to be built back up before going anywhere near the main event picture. His run as IC champ was mediocre and he lost more times than he won. He lost almost every match I saw him in while he was champ. Cody Rhodes just won the IC title this past Friday on SD!, so he won't be in the WHC picture anytime soon. The most logical challenger at this time would be Sheamus. He's a fresh babyface that's already hugely over with the fans.

While it's great to be idealistic, some of these guys just don't have it. Ezekiel Jackson is a big guy with a great look. That's about as far as it goes. Jinder Mahal is said to be pretty bad in the ring, as his matches have been kept short and they've had talented guys carrying him in house show matches. Daniel Bryan is the MITB briefcase holder. The WWE has about 7 months to turn Bryan into a potential main evelt level wrestler and I believe they can do it. Trent Barreta is a very young guy that has some promise. I fully expect WWE to have him keep paying dues in the company partially because he's so young. Cody Rhodes just won the IC title, as I mentioned earlier, so I'm hoping that means some good things in store for both him and the title. DiBiase has generic written all over him and really kind of has since the minute he set foot in a WWE ring. I agree that more can be done with Tyson Kidd and as far as Sin Cara goes, who knows. The original Sin Cara is still on suspension for failing a drug test. When he does return, don't be surprised to see him get de-pushed.

The WWE has made minor progress in their tag team picture but they need a lot of work. The Usos and Nexus aren't the guys to rebuild the tag team picture. The Kings of Wrestling are expected to be brought into the WWE as a tag team, so their presence will help things along.

Smackdown is stale? What show are you watching?

First of all, there are very few actual wrestling fans sick of Christian and Orton. The fact that their feud is still going is a testament to how many dimensions they've been able to add, the latest focusing on Christian's teasing of a surprise and Orton promising to release his anger upon Christian which coincides with Orton's "anger management" issues which is extracted from real life issues Orton once faced. Taking all that into account, both are rumored to square off for a final time at Night of Champions and not only do I but many others welcome this, because they've had an old-school back-and-forth feud which WWE hasn't done correctly for years.

Once the rivalry does culminate; whether it be tonight or at NOC, Mark Henry is speculated as Orton's next rival while Sheamus is speculated as Christian's. Sheamus beat Christian on Smackdown, even though it was through count-out he still defeated the World Heavyweight Champion.

Then we go into the midcard. How isn't the midcard fresh? All it is are young guys and everyone you listed is being used every week in some form or another. Cody Rhodes is the IC Champion, Ted DiBiase is his stooge who'll soon turn face and fend off Rhodes whose developed into an impressive heel. Sin Cara is on the verge of entering an interesting storyline, which will probably see "Sin Cara" vs. Sin Cara, Danielson is the Money in The Bank briefcase holder, Wade is feuding with him over a year long issue; I don't really get what's not fresh.

As for Trent he was on Smackdown Friday week in a six man tag team match which I posted a pretty detailed thread on, going into how he seemed to be gaining a foot back into the fray on Smackdown. So once again, what's stale about the show? Lets proceed further.

The Uso's... Have disappeared? Really?? They were on every episode of Smackdown for two months, two nights ago being he first they didn't feature and all of a sudden they're classified as missing in action? And not only that but they, along with McTungacutty are replenishing the tag team division with their series of bouts. Then you seem to show no consideration for how WWE are obviously building said division back up, steadily, and ye you want "change"?

Nothing needs to change, because by listing what you want to happen you've really just listed the format for what Smackdown has became every week of every month since the WWE Draft. Christian and Orton is still entertaining, because of the two guys in it. The mid-card section is blooming and every person who deserves an appearance is handed one even those that may not be fulfilling their potential e.g. Mahal. You even have Johnny Curtis joining the fray now. And the tag team division has been heavily pin-pointed in recent weeks and you're looking for some abnormal "change".

My apologies, but this thread is going up there with the thread from a month ago where somebody compared Zack Ryder to a group of Legends - as being completely ignorant and abysmal. You obviously need to actually watch the show.

Have to agree, this feud has legs, Christian has done of his best work since returning, his heel persona is growing as Ortan continues to chase Smackdowns main title.

If this feud does end there has been no one that has established themselves as a main event player on the smackdown brand, neither Mark Henry, Cody Rhodes, Ted Dibiase, Wade Barrett have no chance of guning for the main title yet, the only person who would be able to get a chance at Christian or Ortan would be Shemaus and he is in the middle of a huge face turn which will result in a lengthy feud with Mark Henry.

so for now we will probably end up having Christian vs Ortan for a few more months before WWE decides to pull the trigger on the next main eventer on the blue brand but I'm enjoying the ride so far.

Mid Card

While it's great to be idealistic, some of these guys just don't have it. Ezekiel Jackson is a big guy with a great look. That's about as far as it goes. Again agreed, the WWE cannot push any of the talent mentioned above for now, Tyson Kidd needs a someone to be placed with him in order to place him in the main evet pciture, but as far as Im concerned he is nowhere near the midcard as of yet, in order to establish a new player in the upppermidcard the wwe needs to solidify its roster which is pretty thin at the moment, and they can do as such with good booking and winning feuds which are currently developing as we speak.

Tag Division
The WWE has made minor progress in their tag team picture but they need a lot of work. The Usos and Nexus aren't the guys to rebuild the tag team picture. The Kings of Wrestling are expected to be brought into the WWE as a tag team, so their presence will help things along.

If they can sign a good deal of teams and make use of the guys in the undercard we can see more good matches in the tag ranks but that cant use the tag team division as a way to establish its singles stars they need to elevate the teams first and when the time comes to split the veterans into singles competitors they need to replace them with more teams in order to present a broader tag team division.

The WWE at this time is a work in progress and hopefully with Triple H incharge it will bring about a better wrestling company which at this moment in time will take alot of time in doingso.

I Did not say that the midcard isn't fresh coz yeh ur right it is fresh but what i mean is they r put in the same matches week after week. Example:Sin cara & Tyson kidd i think they have faced eachother 2 or 3 times now on sd and sin cara has won all of them. There wasting tyson kidd who is a supreme talent,we aint even seen Jinder mahel in action for a while, yes Ted Dibiase will turn face i mentioned that before and then he will fued with cody and that would be good. So basiclly what im saying is push some of these guys up the card more and give them more time to showcase themselves.

Tyson Kidd has faced Sin Cara twice. Once back in April in what was Kidd's first match on either main show in over two months where he didn't get completely squashed and this week he faced "Sin Cara", as WWE are playing up that this Sin Cara is an imposter. So technically he faced two different people as eventually "Sin Cara" will be revealed as Hunico.

Also, although Tyson Kidd is a great talent he lacks any charisma. He can't even speak on a microphone; hence the long string of managers he would have on Superstars which was eventually going to end up with him having a single sole manager on Smackdown. I read a report two weeks ago that the plan there is to have Vickie Guerrero and Ziggler split in the future and have Vickie manage Kidd, giving him a mouth and instant heat.

Yeah I don't see the problem at all. Smackdown has been booked to near perfection since the draft and I just don't see why they need to change it.

Christian, I repeat, fucking CHRISTIAN has been in a main event program for like 4 months now and has been World Champion for almost a month of it. They built the feud from scratch. Started with a rivalry over the title, had Christian turn heel when he couldn't get it done, and now they have taken it to the top level where a gimmick match is necessary for the blow off. Booked perfectly.

The upper mid card has seen 2 guys in Sheamus and Mark Henry that have both been booked strong enough to be placed into the title picture when the Orton/Christian feud ends. There is not a doubt in my mind that one of, if not both of these guys will have WHC reigns before the end of the year.

Then a little lower down the card you have guys that were rarely given any real face time like DB and Zeke receive big pushes. Zeke had his IC Title reign and Daniel of course is Mr/ Money in the Bank. Both guys have laid down a foundation and have been featured weekly on Smackdown and now, they have a shot of moving up the card. B more so than Zeke.

Then you have guys that were all but forgotten on Raw have new life bestowed onto them once joining the Smackdown roster, Cody Rhodes, Ted Dibiase, and Wade Barrett. Rhodes has definitely done more with his opportunity than the others, but they all have started to right the train they were on before and possibly saved their careers. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised to see Rhodes in the title picture by years end either.

Even when you scrape the bottom of the barrel things are looking up. Zack Ryder, the lovable jobber that everyone was begging to see on TV has been featured prominently for a few weeks now and they're even letting him do what he does best; be a goofy idiot.

I just don't see anything wrong with Smackdown right now. They have invested heavily in their younger stars and taken chances that we have all wanted to see. Sure, they're still guys out there that people want to see move up like Barreta and Kidd, but Christ, not everyone is going to get moved up at once. They're taking chances, trying new things, and it has been greatly entertaining.
