Quite possibly the funniest British Comedy duo I've ever seen. Then again I haven't seen many British films/TV

Caroline Aherne, Craig Cash, and Phil Mealey. They haven't done all that much and they're more known for their writing than anything else. That being said, The Royle Family and Early Doors are must see British sitcoms.

French and Saunders are probably the most well-known English comic duo (they're female, though, so you might not be all that interested). The only other one I can think of at the moment is the team of Mayall and Edmondson.

It's really Pegg, Frost and Edgar Wright. As Paul shows, without Wright, they don't fire on all cylinders.

Mitchell & Webb are great in Peep Show. Their sketch show doesn't do it for me. Fry and Laurie are brilliant too.

I lie, but their Saturday Night Takeaway show used to be pretty good.

as tdigs said, mayall and edmonson, Bottom is criminally underrated for laughs.

Seconded. Also to a far lesser extent Armstrong and Miller.

I'd recommend also Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse.

Interestingly, Jonny Depp once said of Paul Whitehouse (the smaller man) that he was 'the best actor he'd ever seen'.
