Sim Snuka Released....Oh Well

Sean Valjean

Lets Bitch About This Thing We Love
So Sim's FINALLY been released. How he lasted this long is beyond me, I mean his biggest moments were:

1. Debuting as one half of Deuce & Domino, in my opinion, one of the worst tag teams of this decade.

2. Getting kicked out of Legacy before it even began.

3. Playing a cameraman at Wrestlemania and getting owned by The Undertaker. This was the only time he entertained me and I didn't even know it was him until afterwards.

Anyone actually think they *snicker* missed a big chance with letting Sim go?

(P.S. I pray Ricky Ortiz is next)

The title of the thread is accurate. He excites me as much as Jimmy Snuka's occasional returns excite me. And believe me, I mark out for commercials and not Snuka. Will TNA even care? Did I even know he was still in the company. All questions that do not matter. Yeah, bad tag team, should have just been used to job to Festus and what's his face.

The only way I could see him in TNA is if his father gives him a rub by showing up in TNA. THen he will get released. He has NO obvious talents. I don't recall him being good in the ring, good on the mic, good look, or anything. He is simply Jimmy Snuka's adopted son.

I agree that Sim Snuka was never really that entertaining and I also agree that he isn't a big loss but I believe he wasn't given much of a chance. Duece and Domino was a fairly entertaining little tag team which means they were quickly broken up. On RAW he only had a couple of matches. Heck, they never even had him and his father on air at the same time. They competed against one another at Vengeance but that was still when he wasn't acknowledged as Snuka's kid.

Sadly, the most surprising thing is that he latest this long. I thought he would have gone at the same time as Manu. It's kind of amazing that the WWE is so saturated with second/third generation talent that they can just pick and choose who to use and who to release.

I would like to sum up my feelings in a single word if i may... meh

He should have been let go a long time ago. It was a shame cos with the Chris Jericho/legends angle he could have been involved and maybe got enuf of a push to keep him going for a bit. Apart from a forgetable tag team run he did shit all so in conclusion... meh

As Far as Sim Snuka and Fatu along with a handful of other wrestlers in WWE I think its too little too late. Candice Michelle being realesed too is another person that should of been cut years ago. I'm sure we will see her again on I'm a celebrity get me out of here 2 or something ******ed like that. There's a number of talent I would personally love to take the axe to. Not to change the subject or beat a dead horse but TMexico, your Canada pic rules except for the ironic Serial Killer Benoit shown there. He was one the greatest technical wrestlers of all time but he did kill his wife and small child so not cool bro.

Pretty dissapointed by this one, but I'm dissapointed when anyone is released. Sim could have been cool given the right character, but that seems to be the case with a lot of the unused wrestlers in WWE roster.

This is professional wrestling and to have the excuse of "we don't have any ideas" is absolute poop. A wrestler can be anyone and do anything yet they are held back by "creative" people who "don't have any ideas" for them.

In the end I guess it's a case of, when there's too many mouths to feed and there's not enough food, somebody has to starve. Sim Snuka starved for a while and now he has to suck it up and move on.

This means nothing at all. He was old, bland, and worthless. He hasn't been in the ring since what, February? Why keep him on the roster? Bullshit that creative not having anything for him is bullshit. There's certainly instances where a guy is just worthless and this is one of those. Snuka was around because of his name and that's it. Why should creative waste one of the few good ideas they have left on him? That's not being held back by creative. That's not being worth the effort. ANyway though, he's gone now, and that's all that matters.

This is less important than Candice Michelle's release. Seriously.

It just doesn't matter. They guy has never done anything to show that he deserves a place on the roster. He was a tag chmpaion around half way through the tag division's decline.
He was in the Legacy for two weeks and actually managed to score promo time with the other Legacy members. It's strange that Randy Orton in that little room with that little promo was the biggest star Snuka ever interacted with on camera. I don't count the Undertaker/Mania spot cause there he wasn't Sim Snuka, he was anonymous cameraman number 13. But he was so untalented that he wasn't even let stay around despite having a hall of famer as a father.
Speaking of that spot, being a crash mat for Undertaker was the only way he could ever appear at a Wrestlemania. And even managed to mess it up.
So yeah, WWE aren't exactly losing the next Hulk Hogan here.

Can't believe I just put that much effort into a Sim Snuka post...

Far too long overdue. This guy's been useless for years. Deuce and Domino was a shitty tag team and didn't deserve to hold the titles. He couldn't cut a good promo, he was too old to be reformed into a potential for the future, and he sucked in the ring. What good was he?

In reality, the guy only kept a job because of who his father was, and he's been overdue for a firing before he was even hired lol. Good riddance.

He hasn't been on TV since Wrestlemania.. I would be really surprised if anyone cared.
I bet I could ask my brother if he knew who Sim Snuka was and he wouldn't know.

I LMFAO AT WRESLEMANIA AFTER I HEARD THE CRACKING NOISE, I WATCHED IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!!

If ya smell what im cookin'.

No, I never would have sat here and said this man was going to be the future of the company. However, they could have given him a better shot based on his name alone. ECW could have used a guy like this. The WWE passed up some decent chances to go somewhere interesting with this guy.

Perhaps he could have jumped in to save his father back when Y2J whooped his old ass on RAW. At that point I realized that they had given up on him, or at best forgot he was still with the company. They gave him nothing really when you look back. He could have debuted in ECW, and attempted to draw something from an old cage match with anyone brave enough to challenge him. I wouldn't have mind it if Snuka out did his father's jump from the top of the steel cage. Maybe through some tables that are on fire. Would have liked to have seen him do that to Piper for embarrassing his father years ago.

truk24...you get it.

You can be the greatest wrestler in the world, but if no one behind the curtain cares you're screwed. If no one wants to give you a chance or share a spot then you'll be doomed. Example: Orton didn't want to share a spot when Sim was pushed to be in Legacy so, Snuka stopped being pushed (same can be said for Manu). Another example that truk brought up: either no one thought of Sim during the Legends angle or no one wanted him there so, he didn't get to be a part of it.

Today in wrestling it's about who you know and who your friends are, not what you can do and with whom. Therefore, we get wrestlers, who could be a somebody, pushed to the back.

Also, for members to come on here and say he was a bad wrestler I think, man a lot of people in the forum have been in the ring with Sim Snuka! Sometimes I hate the internet...

Cody is definitely not better then Sim and has been getting pushed for years now. Randy had to help him start, Hard Core had to hold his hand for a very long time. Now both Randy and Ted are holding him up in wrestling like a 6 month old baby trying to stand.

Sim can now move on and find a new place to wrestle that will try to give him a shot.

It was about time he was released. I sort of liked the tag team of Deuce and Domino but I couldn't invest in them long-term. When he got drafted, we didn't see much of him and that was a sign that they had nothing for him. He didn't make the WWE a different place and nothing would change since he is gone.

Snuka never really did anything for me. Yeah, he had decent size, but he wasn't that good in the ring and had little to no charisma. I honestly can't remember a single thing from any of his matches, and that is not a good sign for anyone. He might latch on at TNA based on his name, but I really can't see him popping up again anytime soon

Well, I have to agree with most posters, he isn't the next Triple H, Hulk Hogan, The Rock, or Stone Cold. He was pretty bland, didn't have the greatest mic skills (or if did never showed them), and was about decent in the ring. Not a huge loss and I doubt anybody cares. Does anybody even know that Sim Sunka isn't even his real name?

On a side note, he was the cameraman at Wrestlemania 25 in the Taker/HBK match? I didn't know that.

I have to disagree with most of the people on this post.Your only as good as what creative gives you.i think most of the talent that have been released were victims of a bad creative team.some day vince will lose a big talent to TNA and will be kicking himself in the ass.but that's what happens when you let your kids run the show huh?

Can't say I find this to be the least bit shocking. All of the signs were there that he was on his way out. The whole Deuce and Domino gimmick pretty much had him destined for failure from day one. It's not as though Snuka is as tight with the WWE as the Rhodes or Orton's are, so I doubt they would have felt the need to keep him on as a favor to his father.

Just another in a long line of forgettable wrestlers. Maybe he can make something of himself somewhere, but it doesn't look like that place is going to be the WWE.

We shouldn't be mourning Sim; we should be celebrating his good fortune at somehow not being released over the past 6 months. I'm genuinely amazed he has lasted this long. Not a surprise at all, he didn't seem to be able to get over and he was meh in-ring so this makes sense. Why keep a marginal guy who can't draw?

who?

he never really did anything.
didnt even know he was a snuka until the whole legacy thing.
dont see this as a big loss.

oh well.

Sim Snuka? I never saw him wrestle in the ring ever. I only know that he was the camera guy who took Undertaker's dive at Wresltemania 25. Oh well, Son of a Legend only known as Undertaker's crash dummy(Undertaker is at fault for the botch. He shouldn't even be diving out of a ring like that. He is freaking 6'9" and 300LBS.). That is a shameful move on the WWE's part. I am pretty sure that Jimmy Snuka is probably Pissed off at them. He usually is one of the Legends who comes to wrestle for the WWE for special events. I feel that the WWE is taking some of its new talent for granted more than they used to. Either hire them and make them famous or don't hire them at all. It is pointless to hire someone and raise their expectations only to release them with nothing left for them. TNA will be happy to have him.

The guy did nothing thats noteworthy. He had no charisma what so ever, He had moveset 101, In fact the only impressive thing I saw him do was a flying high knee, But anyone could do it really. It's a shame the Snuka name will be tarnished by Sim.
