Shouldn't John Laurinaitis have to step down?

The whole reason HHH had to step down and give control to JL was that he had other interests than business in fighting Taker/Punk. Since JL is going to have a match against Cena shouldn't (kayfabe) the shareholders make him step down as well?

Really...this isn't that far from the truth. Except it's applicable to all of professional wrestling. Not just WWE. Someone posted a link to an article in the Wrestling Spam Zone that sort of touched on all the illogical things and suspended beliefs required in professional wrestling not too long ago. It was pretty funny actually.

However, fighting against management has always been a way to get people over. Look at Austin vs. McMahon. That was huge. And Roode vs Sting further helped elevate Roode as well. 'Cena needs to get over?' you ask? Well, his 50/50 relationship with the crowd is well documented. Not to mention, if you want to be cheered lately, fight against John Larinaitis. Even John Cena will get cheered for taking him out.

If you want another recent example of how certain 'issues' need to be ignored in professional wrestling, look at when HHH was about to fire JL. He literally started the sentence and I believe it was The Undertaker's gong that interrupted him. Realistically, that kind of decision isn't negated by being interrupted. He's going to be fired regardless. Maybe in the back, it doesn't matter. But since it is professional wrestling the simple act of not having a period on a sentence can change all.

Try not to think so hard about this stuff.

By your logic I think the feud would have to play out before there are any repercussions. I think it will all tie into the Brock vs. Triple H feud. Johnny is just "mad" because Cena made his sure bet Lesnar look bad.

That kind of goes along the lines of DB using his MITB and winning the title against Mark henry, only for it to be overturned cause Henry was not able to compete. BUT, the rules of MITB say that the title can be defended anywhere at anytime. How many times have we seen someone go through a long brutal match, only to have it cashed in on them and lose the title?

Seriously though, if it makes sense for the story, it doesn't matter what happened in the past. That is wrestling 101. Rules change all the time. How many times have we seen one thing happen and someone get away with it, only to have the same thing happen to someone else and get it called out?

For the most part the WWE does well with the story lines. IE writing people off, following logic etc. But once in a while things don't make sense. But meh, it's a soap opera. Things change so fast, some things are going to fall through the cracks and not make a lot of sense.

By professional wrestling logic, no, Laurinaitis does not have to step down. It's a simple explanation really and if you've watched professional wrestling before for any period of time, you'll understand.

Triple H is a face. Faces are the good guys. Good guys don't get much leeway in booking. If they do anything wrong, they are heavily scrutinized and picked apart the first chance that anyone gets.

In contrast, Big Johnny is a heel. Heels get away with just about everything. It's due to the fact that their character wants to piss off the crowd. Logically, the response you're displaying on these message boards is EXACTLY what WWE wants you to have. They want you to say, "HEY. Didn't HHH just get in trouble for this? Why doesn't Big Johnny?"

The more pissed off you get at a heel character, the better they are doing their job. The more sympathy a face character gets, the better their character is coming across. The whole point is to build to where Big Johnny is going to get his in the end and everyone rejoices that he's gone. It's storyline that is old as old can be but it NEVER fails. Just look at Vickie Guerrero's run(s) as GM. She got away with just about everything she could and then at some point after doing tons of ridiculous shit, she gets replaced and everyone cheers. Same thing is going on now.

The problem is that Brock Lesnar broke HHH's arm and thus he wont be able to do his COO duties until at least after Over The Limit.

Who knows? Maybe he will be forced to step down. It just happened yesterday. Still alot of time to establish some sort of consequence for him if he goes through with it.

Maybe they will end up somehow making it that if he loses the Board will make him step down because he pointlessly went after a talent on the roster.

Stop knee-jerking your reaction to this. Maybe the night after Over The Limit he will get removed or put on some sort of permanent probation. Maybe he will announce that he signed himself to a contract as a wrestler, he is the Head of Talent Relations after all, and with Triple H out of commission, maybe his approval gets deligated.

How does a broken arm effect his COO duties? He can still hire and fire without one arm. He can sign documents with one arm...Explain your logic please.

I believe JL should have stepped down a while ago. The whole Teddy Long storyline got taken a little too far. As far as his feud with Cena I also believe that now he has placed himself in a match against Cena @ Over The Limit he won't have a choice but to stand down, or a stipulation should be in place that if JL loses he is made to step down.

If that stipulation is made then the match will end up being a no DQ match and JL's goons will overwhelm Cena and allow JL to get the pin. I really don't see JL going anywhere any time soon.

But in saying that. He could be made to step down as RAW GM and keep him on as Smackdown GM. At this stage its all speculation and thoughts. I guess we won't know until Over The Limit looms closer =)

And then changes them a few months later, In theory clown shoes laurinaitis should be stepping down, but in wwe logic he doesn't have to. God i hope cena destroys this guy at over the limit.....
