Should WWE reach out to Samoa Joe?

If anything if you ask should WWE reach out to Samoa Joe? I would definitely say yes I mean the man left TNA and currently Joe is where? Last I checked wasn't Joe in ROH or something? Either way Joe he could have a hell of a career hell his career could even be revitalized should he come to WWE I mean I know Joe he is friends with certain superstars in the WWE and Triple H himself the COO even said he is a fan of Joe's and apparently so is Stone Cold Steve Austin so why not have Joe jump ship to WWE? You could bring Joe in as a babyface or as a heel he does both very well and not to mention for a superstar of Joe's size and his strength he not only has charisma but he is able to do moves that no big guy should do but is able to and he can actually wrestle as well

Just think about the feuds Samoa Joe could have especially if he were to come here to WWE, Samoa Joe could feud with the likes of Cena, Orton, Bryan, HHH, Reigns, Rollins, Sheamus, Rusev, Wyatt, Lesnar, etc.

His weight and age are issues but I think he can get over those humps if given the chance. So sure give him that chance.

Joe in TNA he was a big fish in a tiny little pond but in WWE he would finally make it to the big time he would be where the big boys play and in WWE he would become an even bigger star than what he actually is

He's a better worker than most guys in WWE, and as crowds are sick of a lot of the 'same shit different day' aspects of WWE (Cena, the nothingness of Kane and Big Show etc), and if done right Samoa Joe could have slobberknocker matches against the likes of Orton, Reigns, Sheamus and Dolph Ziggler but also have the nostalgic return matches with Daniel Bryan as well as put over new guys coming up from NXT.

My only problem is that the main roster is too heavy with competition right now and half of the competitors aren't getting any real screentime. I'm not sure how cluttered nxt is at this moment. But if he's really good- I'm not a TNA guy- then WWE should consider it.

Pretty sure they already got something because the lack of recruiting on behalf of ROH, NJPW, etc. is just odd at this point. News on Joe has been quiet for a while now.

It's been a few months now since we've heard the Samoa Joe/WWE rumors and, that's around the time when both sides began to allude to a contract being a possibility. Surprisingly, since we've heard about that, there has not been much motion by the other wrestling companies, which leads me to believe that he already has a verbal or legal contract with WWE. Perhaps they are waiting for him to get into "WWE shape" before announcing it?

Or maybe I'm off... however I fully believe that this will be announced sooner than later.

As has been mentioned, WWE has already allegedly reached out to Samoa Joe and word is that Joe is bound for WWE. If various reports are accurate, Triple H is the one who reached out as he's said to be a big fan of Joe's work. The last I read anything on this was weeks ago and I'm thinking that there's some solid truth to it, Joe himself has allegedly stated that he's WWE bound, again, as has been pointed out, and more than enough time has passed for one side or the other to dismiss such claims as being untrue. This Reddit user, MetsFan4Ever, has had a pretty good track record over the past year or so.

One thing that gets brought up a lot, and has been brought up here, is Joe's weight, I've brought it up myself at times. From a cosmetic standpoint, Triple H isn't someone that's as hung up on how striking of a figure a wrestler cuts as much as Vince McMahon is, not by a long shot otherwise Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens probably wouldn't have gotten the time of day. Joe has the goods inside the ring and he can be pretty good on the mic, but that's not the issue. Ultimately, Triple H has to tow the line just like everyone else because whatever goes on is ultimately Vince's choice. Nobody knows this better than Triple H and if he believes Vince would sneer at the notion of Joe just because of his physique, he'd tell Joe he needs to drop some weight. Over the years, and I dunno if any of it's true, there were various reports of TNA officials asking Joe to slim down several times over the years, which obviously didn't happen. However, if Joe does come to WWE, is told to drop 40 or 50 pounds and doesn't do it, then he'll be gone before long.

In the grand scheme of things, that's not a request that's unreasonable. WWE is packed with guys on the main roster, in NXT, who work backstage, etc. who are as knowledgeable about exercise and nutrition as any personal trainer out there, so getting help in dropping the weight if needed wouldn't be any problem.

I'd bet that he'll end up in NXT over the next few months. Whether or not he's a success is a completely different story. He could be a Kevin Owens, who immediately impresses and is quickly made a top guy. Or he might end up like a Kassius Ohno, who didn't get in shape when they asked him to, and got fired as a result.

I don't care either way, to be honest. I've never been that big a Samoa Joe fan, and I think there's already far better wrestlers in NXT at the moment.

Absolutely! WWE needs to fill out there midcard, and who’s better experienced with filling things out than Samoa Joe? According to some sites, they already offered him a contract and Joe signed it in his own blubber.

I like Samoa Joe. It’s easy to see why Hunter is a fan of his work. He’s a great talker and a great wrestler, and a great resource to learn from. Joe has a mind for the wrestling biz. After NXT, he could be well-utilized on the main roster, even if he doesn’t manage his way to the main event scene.

I’m also optimistic that this will finally force Samoa Joe to change his stupid ring name. Hurray!

And Joe if he is brought in just think about his feuds that he can have, Joe can feud with the likes of Cena, Orton, Reigns, Lesnar if they really build Joe up or even Triple H if they can build Joe up that hard, Rollins, Kane, Big Show, Sheamus, Bryan, Rusev, Wyatt among others and not to mention Joe he can easily be a upper midcard guy hell he could even be a main eventer in WWE if he were to come in and if anything he doesn't need NXT and really it is beneath a guy of Joe's caliber to even be there but Joe being fast-tracked to the main roster now that is actually best for business

I think his talent will outweigh his body type situation, otherwise Steen (Owens) might not have been signed. Age may be a factor but again, talent will make that a non issue. I think WWE have come out of the youth movement that bogged down the late noughties. KENTA signed at 34, Devitt was 32. Hell, the f'n Boogeyman was over 40 when he debuted 10 years ago, and he lacked a lot of things Joe has going for him.

I think WWE is realizing they can't expect every guy to be a Hogan, a Cena, an Undertaker. As in a guy that sticks around for 10 - 20 year career with company that they can build around. In the grand scheme of things we really only got 6-7 years out of Austin if you subtract time off for injury, exclude his time in other promotions, and time spent in a non-wrestling capacity. Ditto for the Rock, subtract time spent in hollywood and not counting his return for Mania 27 and beyond, we really only got 5 maybe 6 years as an active performer out of him. Again, this is accumulated subtracting time off and rough estimating.

Kane is what, 45? Undertaker is 50. Joe debuts at 35 and we could very well get a decade long WWE career out of him. I'm not saying Joe is guaranteed going to have a legendary career the calibre of any of the aforementioned men, he certainly has the potential, but I use them as examples that most people know and are easily digestible.

If Joe is above NXT than so were KENTA and Devitt. Joe debuts in NXT but doesn't spend long there. Three to six months I'd day. Although they could save him for the Raw after WrestleMania 32. Joe has to get used to the WWE style, as close as TNA tries to emulate that style, there's still some things that will be different. I could be wrong and he works dark matches until debut, but the message they will want to send is no one is above the developmental system.

The big question: what do they name this guy? I doubt they let him be Samoa Joe. Joe or Joseph Fake-last-name? Island Joe? Samoa Steve? Joekozuna?
