Should Have Happened At Mania

This is my first time posting a thread so forgive me if it's a little long. I can ramble on sometimes. I'm asking you to think of past WrestleManias and tell me if they could have been booked better. I am looking for realistic possibilities. By this I mean don't say something like it would have been great to see Sting vs. Shawn Michaels at mania 11. You can only work with who was on the roster at the time of whatever mania you're talking about. Try to keep injuries in mind too. No booking Batista at mania 22 for example. Here are my thoughts:

Mania 4: Ricky Steamboat should have beaten Greg Valentine. Think about it. This would have set up a Savage Steamboat match in round two of the tournament. A rematch from the two guys who stole the show at mania 3 would have been a classic on a card that was a little bland in action. One year later with both guys face. This time Steamboat puts Savage over and they shake hands at the end. I believe Steamboat left the WWF right after Mania and it would have been a great way for him to go out.

Mania 9: Hulk Hogan should not have won the title. Yokozuna should have left champion. Hogan could have come out and set up a feud for a future showdown, but should not have left mania with the belt.

Mania 13: I would have put the two teams competing for the tag titles in singles matches against their own partners. Owen and Bulldog had a classic match in the finals for the European title. It was Mania worthy and should have been held off until then. Vader vs. Mankind could have been interesting too. It was a wild time in the WWF and the right show for these two brawlers to go at it in an extremley physical contest. Could have had a story where Mankind was jealous of Uncle Paul giving attention to Vader.

Mania 15: First off Billy Gunn and Road Dogg should not have switched matches. This made no sense at all. Damn Russo. Next The Hardy Boys should have won the battle royal on Heat to face Owen and Jarrett for the tag titles. I mean D Lo and Test? Give me a break. The Hardys were not very well known yet and it would have been a great time to introduce them to the world. They could have had a great match and come close to upsetting the champs, but just fall short. Turns out things worked out for the Hardys anyway, but this would have been a good story and way better match then what we got.

Mania 18: Kurt Angle should have wrestled Edge. I didn't care for the Angle/Kane feud and Edge feuding with Booker over shampoo didn't do much for me. Angle and Edge could have given us a classic match. Plus the American hero going into Edge's hometown in Canada would have added to the match. Besides these two starting feuding right after mania anyway. Just throw Booker and Kane against each other instead.

Mania 24: It was great to see Orton get a surprise win over Triple H and Cena, but I think this should have been Hunter vs. Cena one on one. Hunter was crusing to a Royal Rumble victory until Cena's surprise appearance. Cena could have taken the title off Orton at No Way Out and lost it to Hunter at Mania. This would avenge HHH's loss at mania 22 setting up a rubber match somewhere down the road. I would have put Orton against Batista. This is a natural feud. Of course we all know both were members of Evolution and have gone on to become mega stars. I think it's interesting that Batista basically took Orton's spot at mania 21 and throughout 2005. Orton was being groomed to be the breakout star in Evolution and Batista came out of nowhere and took that spot from him.

Those are my thoughts. What are yours?

Mania 18: Austin should not have been a midcarder. That was a complete waste of talent.

Wrestlemania 2000: The Rock vs Triple H singles match for WWF title. The fatal 4 way was a complete joke and respect to Big Show, he's not a Wrestlemania main eventer.

Mania 20: no fatal four ways for both tag belts. Complete waste of time and added to disappointing WM in NYC for me

Mania 18: Austin should not have been a midcarder. That was a complete waste of talent.

What was the deal with that. The actual main event sucked Jericho and Triple h. Sorry should have been Austin Vs Triple H. And they should of had a chick match between rock v hogan and the main event.

Wrestlemania XX, Goldberg Vs Brock Lesnar, make them have a great match going out instead of a crappy start and a goodbye from SCSA stunner style. This feud was stale from the first week I saw it and in no way should that mania match be the last match they were in the WWE. No other wrestler has ever been released in such a bad way as this.

WM 18: they should have made it Undertaker/Kane vs Hall/Nash. Would of been a huge tag match at the time.

Angle vs Flair would of been another match from this and would have been a classic.

HHH vs Stone Cold should have been the main event.

Chris Jericho vs Mr. Perfect would of been a great opponent after Y2J drops the belt to Austin at No Way Out the month before.

i think at wm 23 maybe rated rko v. the hardys wouldve been good. or maybe edge v. orton. i think the mitb ladder match, with the exception of the first is just a spot where they put guys who they dont know what to do with.

I agree with the original post on this forum, I was all in favour of Orton coming out on top at Mania 24 but to have it as a straight singles match and had Orton/Batista would have been so much better. Could have put Umaga in the MITB then as the main guy to beat... all the others would have to gang up to take him out much like they did at N.W.O in the chamber match.

Others sound good except that Undertaker/Kane vs Outsiders could not have happened as Nash was injured

Wrestlemania 18- Should have been Austin vs Hogan instead of Austin vs Scott Hall than we could've had The Rock face Y2J for the belt and could've had Triple H face Scott Hall

Wrestlemania 19- Should have had Booker T come out on top winning over Triple H and Y2J should've come out winniing over HBK

Wrestlemania 20- Brock Lesnar vs Goldberg should've been a lot better and Brock Lesnar should've come out as the winner of that match.

Wrestlemania 22- Should've been Randy Orton one on one against Kurt Angle for the World Heavyweight championship

Wrestlemania 23- Should've been Randy Orton vs John Cena for the wwe championship

Wrestlemania 24- Should've been Randy Orton vs Batista for the wwe championship instead of the triple threat match and could've been Triple H vs John Cena one on one in a Wrestlemania 22 rematch.

I couldn't agree more. This year it is chock full of wrestlers with barely any significance in the WWE. Who the hell really matters in that match anyways?

oh I also forgot ....
Wrestlemania 23: They should not have forgot that the biggest thing about wrestlemania is to have a superstar win a 30 man royal rumble on another PPV so that they could have a dream match in THE MAIN EVENT of wrestlemania. So when one of the legends of the company, The Undertaker, finally wins the rumble.......just don`t put the title match in midcard and steal his moment just for the sake of having the "top face" in the main event, making another legend tap...it`s kinda pathetic.

2002 - I would have scrapped Austin-Hall, Edge-Booker & Angle-Kane, none of them were interesting at all, I would have replaced them with Kurt Angle v Edge (like someone already said, the American hero v the Canadian in his hometown) & Austin v Kevin Nash (He's a much bigger name than Hall, and I think he was healthy at the time, he wrestled the next night on Raw).

2004 - The Evolution v Rock & Foley match should have been replaced with Foley v Orton 1 on 1 (since that was the real storyline feud) and The Rock v Ric Flair, which would have drawn more buys than the tag match probably.

2007 - Edge v Randy Orton should have had a 1 on 1 match after Rated RKO split up, they were both bigger than the MITB by this point and it would have been another huge match on the show, they had a great match on Raw about a month later, but it would have been much bigger and better if it happened at WM.

2008 - Randy Orton v Triple H should have been a singles match for the title, Cena shouldn't have been involved, he should have faced Batista in the ultimate battle of the brands match instead of Umaga, Cena v Batista would have been the biggest match on the show, it wouldn't need to have been for a title.

WM 18 - austin v HHH instead of HHH v jericho and Austin v scott hall. both matches sucked. HHH v austin would have been huge.

WM 25 - i kno it hasnt happened yet but Austin v HOgan should have happened

Wrestlemania 21: HBK should've beat Kurt Angle. This was by far the best match on the card. Most people were proably expecting Shawn to just fly around the ring, but he did more than a good job holding his own with Kurt Angle on the techinical wrestling side of things. It was only a brief period where as Kurt went without a big push, so I don't think the lost would've hurt him at all. Wrestlemania 23: Cena should've lost to HBK. At this point, Cena was being made to invinceable. A loss could've set up a pretty good feud between the two. I see why the WWE had Cena win this match. By the time Mania 23 came around, the fans had already started booing the hell out of Cena. And a lost at Wrestlemania to HBK could've killed his career.

I disagree I think Angle win over HBK should stay. The reason why is because HBK seems to win most of his big profile matches. Seeing that Angle was a heel and especially at Wrestlemania I thought that they would had put HBK over Angle but I was surprise. Not only that but I believe Angle is better than HBK.

I agree with HBK over Cena just because HBK is better than Cena. But it was a pretty interesting match. I don't even think about who won I just think about how the match was play.
