Sam's Thread of Chattin' w/ Jake & Other Robust Subjects

My purchase of Avatar on blu-ray will afford me the opportunity to add to my A section. This time I'm certain. As Alien vs. Predator is abbreviated to AVP on the side of the case, I feel I would be justified in putting it first in the row.

I hate Avatar, but spend £10 and get the Blu-Ray for £15 was just too good to pass up. Everyone seems to love it, so I must be wrong in hating it so much, I'll give it another go.

I would like to watch it in 2D on a shitty tv to judge it as a movie rather than visually

Me and my girlfrriend have made the decision to wait until it comes on Sky Box Office. I don't want to spend more than £3 on it.

Visually I thought it was CGI heavy (natch) and I'm yet to see a CGI film that won't age badly, with the expection of Jurassic Park.

I thought Jurassic Park was anamatronic with The Lost world being CGI which is why the Lost World dates so badly

Partially anamatronic, but, excuse my lack of dino knowledge, the long necked one and the T-Rex are CGI. The Lost World dates badly because it's shit. The CGI is fine, it's not going to be as awe inspiring the 2nd time round. A bit like Avatar 2 really.

Ah the Brachiosaurus. Whadda ya know, I always thought they were anamatronic

There must be a YouTube video somewhere that shows all the dumb shit.

I think I'm at an unfair advantage as I've seen good James Cameron films.

Thought Avatar was pretty meh in 2D. It was the 3D after all. That, and the woman in front of me was wearing the most enchanting perfume in the cinema.

I like to smell people.

I'm not a fan of perfume at all.

I'll watch Avatar tonight, or maybe I'll finally get round to watching The Hurt Locker. Or more likely I'll watch The Men Who Star At Goats. 90 minute film > two hour plus films.

I recorded The Reader on Sky Drama. Two weeks later (i.e. today) I went to watch it. It was actually No Country For Old Men. I was not amused.

I'm not going to be watching that anytime soon, it's in my Revolutionary Road/assorted Tartan films/Agent Cody Banks 1 & 2/Step Up 2: The Streets, pile.

It's in the same league as Never Back Down. Not for great names but just that league of movies that should pass underneath my radar but don't.

I bought Fighting today, there's something about buying films with Channing Tatum and not watching them that I just can't seem to flush out of my stystem.

I dislike him. That's about the extent of my feelings.

He's good looking and a terrible actor, which makes me wonder what makes him so special when it comes to getting roles over other good looking but awful actors.

I was pleased to notice Russell Crowe had made a straight to video film.

Been puking and shitting my brains and guts out since Friday night. Its was like, black liquid. It was like evil was coming out of me.

Far out, dude.
