RVD or CM Punk

Another simple question. Who would your rather have be your big star Rvd or CM Punk? (Also this should be bassed on what happens on tv not what happens in their personal life)

Two reasons

#1 Puts on better matches in my opinion, would love to see him back in wwe.

#2 and ive never really seen a heel RVD i would love to see that in wwe or tna.

I would rather have CM PUNK as my big star. I say this because he will last a lot longer in the business, as he is younger and in great shape. CM Punk has way more drawing power then RVD.

I understand what you are saying and you have good points but when thinking ofthe question i was more thinking if both were in their prime not who whould you choose at this moment. But like i said you are right that Punk has more drawing power right now

CM Punk because while both RVD and Punk can put on great matches and they can, Punk has great mic work, better than RVD's anyway. i can listen to a Punk promo and be ready for his match that he promotes.

CM Punk, easily. Wrestling is entertainment, and RVD can't deliver a promo like Punk can. RVD's promo skills are very limited. He is a decent enough wrestler in the ring, but I am going to make someone my top star, they need to be able to both wrestle and talk. Punk does a better job overall than RVD does.

Punk is better than RVD in almost all respects, so he's the obvious choice.

Wow even with their personal lives taken out of the equation CM PUNK is still hands down the better option. He is a better in ring worker and he puts on far better promos. RVD could neva be the top guy in a company for 2 reason
Reason 1: His move set while in his prime was cool and amazing it was also predictable. I mean u can pretty much telegraph a entire RVD match unless he was fighting someone who themselves were unpredictable
Reason 2: His has always been very bland on the mic. The stoner character he plays not only doesn't do well for his image as a well STONER lol but it gives him the feel of someone who doesn't care about what he's taking about.
I'm a big RVD fan but I gotta go Punk on this hands down. If u gave RVD the run Punk is having right nw even in his prime the guy couldn't handle it honestly. Now if the roles were reversed and u gave Punk the run of RVD in his prime in either ECW or WWE I can honestly see Punk holding his our if nt exceling

interesting question by the OP. to me, this is very very close, but I would have to go with Punk for the simple reason of how great he is as a heel. (meaning he's come full swing with his characters and they are better than the 1 character of RVD). like the others have mentioned, Punk being a better talker and that outshines (barely) the better matches RVD has put on if you compare the two's match quality. *RVD is amazing and to say anything else is discouraging*

it is close but as it is being the top star, it has to be punk.

(this would be one helluva feud right now right now in their careers...make it happen Rob. come back to the E..where you belong)

Punk hands down

1) Better promo work. RVD's pot usage is clear in many of his promos
2) Adaptation. Punk can adapt to who he faces...RVD puts on the same match every time with kicks flips and jumps
3) Who is a better face for a company a guy who promotes drugs or a guy who is anti drug
4) Punk can do Heel with best of them. RVD's heel is cookie cutter at best

Some of you should research a wrestlers actual capabilities before claiming they have no mic skills. I think giving him the old cocky ass Mr Monday Night (Thursday Night/TNA) gimmick could sitll work well. Both of them would be a great feud also but id take RVD because over his career when he was given a chance he was able to put on great matches with guys way bigger then him(Bam Bam) and guys his size or smaller like Jerry Lynn.Hes like HBK in a sense he can make everyone look good in a match. Not sure Punk can do that yet.
