ROUND ONE

The diversity of this battle shows the wide cast of characters we have in this year's BattleZone Tournament: a legendary king of old, a beloved 80s cartoon character, a Japanese video game protagonist, and the baddest bunch of pixels and programming to ever pop on NES. Does Arthur and Lion-O beat these video game legends?

FIGHT!

Okay, here are some facts about Yu Narukami and Mike Tyson.

Yu Narukami is not only able to fight with a sword, he has hordes of summons at his disposal. He con command lightning, ice, fire, even holy and dark powers. By endgame, he can command the God of Japan. He has stared death in the face and kicked its ass.

In the first 90 seconds of every fight, Mike Tyson throws nothing but one-hit KOs. Get a guy close to him and boom, he's taken out immediately.

It'll all come down to whether Arthur and Lion-O can withstand the magic thrown at them by Yu and if they're drawn close enough for Tyson to take one or both of them out within the first 90 seconds. If that happens, and it very well could, the other guy is done for.

Not necessarily. Tyson's punches are enough to OHKO Little Mac, however both Arthur and Lion-O are a lot tougher than that midget. You thow what would happen if Tyson tried punching Arthur? He'd raise his shield and Tyson breaks his fist. Either that or Arthur cuts his head off before Tyson gets within punching distance. Same goes for Lion-O, except he can create force fields with his sword as well as blocking the fists with an indestructible sword which can cut through almost anything. Tyson's a non-factor.

As for Yu, well Arthur's most trusted advisor is Merlin whose wisdom and magical prowess are beyond reproach. As a great warrior and king he will have learned ways to defend himself from magical attacks, and in a sword fight would probably be Yu's superior. Lion-O's biggest foe, Mumm Ra is known to be the undisputed master of magic. Lion-O came out on top every week. Unless you can demonstrate that Yu is more powerful than Mumm Ra, I don't see how he can overcome the combined abilities of Arthur and Lion-O.

Two of the baddest characters ever with a sword? On the same team?

Game over for Mike early on here. That leaves Arthur and Lion-O to tackle Yu and it wont be long before he takes a fall as well.

Both have the power and tools to take Narukami down in a 2 on 1 assault. This one goes to the King and the Thundercat.

There are only 2 well-known games that NES Tyson appears in (which is the one featured in here), and they are Mike Tyson's Punch-Out and I Want To Be The Guy. I'm not counting the latter though seeing as it isn't canon and literally anything can kill the protagonist of that game in one hit.

So let's stick with Punch-Out. Tyson can incapacitate Little Mac with a single blow. That's all we know. And thus, I apply Occam's razor. The only piece of in-game evidence we have is that Mike Tyson's punch can knock out Little Mac with one punch. But what are Mike Tyson's limits? We don't know his punch limits. He's specifically programmed to incapacitate you, Little Mac, immediately. We never see Tyson fight anyone else in Punch-Out. Therefore, Occam's razor points to Tyson's punches being programmed to incapacitate any opponent with a single punch.

Not to mention, your logic is about as feasible as saying "All I know about X is that he can kill a spider; so he can't do more than that"

As for the fight itself, I'm still deciding on this one. I'm leaning Narukami and Tyson, but I need to read some more King Arthur mythos.

Actually, we can gather a little more information from the game then the minimum you've given us. In Mike Tyson's Punch Out, Mike Tyson has a record of 31-0, and 27 of those wins have come from knockout. As such, it's safe to assume that Mike Tyson has landed that knockout blow on tougher opponents than Mac and KO'd them with it.

Well in Punch Put, the characters Tyson would have beaten include a drunk, an obese guy with bowel problems and a guy with a 1-99 record. Homer Simpson won many boxing matches by knockout too, and just like Homer, when Punchout Tyson faces people more challenging than a weakling like Mac or boxings answers to foreign heels and TL Hopper, he's getting his ass royally killed.

The Sword of Omen channeling the Eye of Thundera is the most powerful force in the Thundercat ethos... and even it has been defeated by an Excalibur. It has been powerful enough to hold a planet together & the lifeforce of the cats and it still cannot overcome Arthur's sword. I'd imagine these two magical talismans handled by their true masters would be more than enough to overcome Nu (Tyson would have been sliced and diced in very short order).

Mike Tyson is going to win this, he's going to rip off Lion-O's ear with his teeth, and due to his cocaine addiction he isn't going to feel shit from the swords he is going to punch away in the midst of his coke filled rampage. When King Arthur is disarmed, Mike is going to bend him over and fuck him till King Arthur falls in love with him.

Oh wait, it's Punchout Mike Tyson? Well shit, I'm going to hand it to the two characters with magical swords then.

Like many other here, Tyson is done. Dead in the water from the start.

That leaves us with two expert swordsmen both of whom have phenomenally powerful magical artifacts in their hands taking on a guy who can summon. Summoning a monster takes time and although Yu may very well have stared gods in the face and won did he do it alone?

Two demi-gods vs a mortal sorcerer, this isn't even close.

Arthur and Lion-O win.

To recycle an argument that didn't play well last year... King Arthur has a scabbard that makes him immortal.

That's pretty much the end of the discussion.
