Round 3 Results/Round 4 Matchups

Shocky

Kissin Babies and Huggin Fat Girlz
The first set of Round 3 Results have come in. Now I'm still undecided how I am going to break tie breakers, since I did state at the beginning I can break tie breakers this time around...

The Brainbusters and the Hardy Boys are deadlocked at 18 a piece, and to me, it's a shame. Credit to Brian Becker for being the only Hardy Boys fan with a pair of balls to at least attempt a reason as to why the Hardys were a better team. Everyone is entitle to their opinion, Brian at least made his public.

The Thrillseekers, the young Jericho and Storm team, have pulled off a good sized upset against the Fabulous freebirds of a margin of 11-9. I'm a bit surprised with the outcome, but it's nice to see a relatively obscure team make their marks in this thing.

Our first blowout of round 3 has the outsiders absolutely destroying the team of Sting and Luger by a margin of 22-1. That's pretty damn impressive, especially considering the name power that Sting and Luger brings to the table.

The final results of today watches another WCW Alumni team in Harlem Heat win it's match against the Koloffs by a 21-2 score in the TNA Region.

So those are the first teams to make it to round 4, with plenty of close matches left. Make sure to vote and break those ties.

I think the tiebreaker should be # of people who post in favor of a team. If people want to simply vote and not post or defend their vote, that's fine, but if the match goes to a tie breaker, they are doing the team they supported no justice.

So, Shocky, I'd count up the # of posters who supported each team with actual posts, and use that as the first tie breaker.

Well I need to make a decision on the Hardy/Brainbuster match. My goal this tournament was to avoid ties, so we need a tiebreaker. Klunder brought up the higher seed advances, but since this was based upon randomness instead of seeds, that is thrown out. Irish has the best solution, those that verbally made a stand vs. those that stood by silently. I feel that this is the way to go. If you chose to complain, go ahead, but there have been multiple warning throughout this tournament to voice your opinion, and for the most part, it has fallen upon deaf ears. So the Brainbusters will move onto round 4.

Onto the 2nd set of Round 3 Final results.

WWE Region saw Big, Bad and Dangerous absolutely demolish Austin Aries and Roderick Strong with a pounding of 16-3. this will set up a big time match in round 4 vs. the Brainbusters in what's sure to be a heated debate.

In the ECW Region, The British Bulldogs wrong the right of the injustice of round 2. The New Age Outlaws are soundly defeated by a superior team 21-6. This will set up an interesting match of the British Bulldogs vs. the Thrillseekers.

Moving to the WCW Region, AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels do it once again, they beat an established team that seemingly over matches them. In the end, Staniels takes down Camp Cornette with a 12-11 victory, and I must say I'm shocked with it myself. This sets up a Round 4 Match against The Outsiders.

Finally, the TNA Region sees the team of Money Inc take down the Mega Powers 11-8. This sees the match of Harlem Heat vs. Money Inc in roudn 4, which again, should be a highly debated matchup.

So the quick run down of the first half of round 4 matchups.

WWE Region
The Brainbusters vs. Big, Bad, and Dangerous

ECW Region
The Thrillseekers vs. The British Bulldogs

WCW Region
The Outsiders vs. AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels

TNA Region
Harlem Heat vs. Money Inc.

More Results.

In the WWE Region, the defending Wrestlezone Tag Team Tourney Champions Edge and Christian keep their winning streak alive, and defeat the Steiner Brothers 17-15. I'm shocked with that, but be that as it may.

Edge and Christian will face the Hollywood Blonds in Round 4. The Blonds manage to take out the Brothers of Destruction with an impressive 19-10 victory.

In the ECW Region, America's Most wanted continues to move along as they eliminate the team of Tomko and Giant Bernard with a total of 17-9. They move onto face the Latin American XChange, who some will call it an upset, managed to take out the team of Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit by a total of 17-11. This sets up an all TNA match in the ECW Semi-Finals.

The WCW Region sees the team of Demolition (greatest tag team ever) get eliminated by the Irish Canadian and his kool-aid drinking followers 20-7. A big boo to all of you. Seriously though, the Hart's are a great team, and it's not shame in losing to them. They go on to face the Dudley Boys, who won an impressive match over the Mega Bucks 21-5.

Finally, the TNA Region sees a tie Between the Fabulous Rougeau Brothers and the Motor City Machine Gunns. The Tie Breaker is actual participation, and it goes in favor of Rougeau Brothers. Sam came hard and strong, but in the end the silence gets us no where way to fast, oh terrible. The Rougeaus are truly the surprise team of this tournament so far, and they are going to face the Headshrinkers, which dominate the Nasty boys setting up a match I would never think posible this late in the tournament.

So a quick recap of round 4 matches.

Edge and Christian vs. The Hollywood Blonds

America's Most Wanted vs. the Latin American XChange

How many more batches are there? And I can't wait to see Sam's pick in AMW/LAX in the battle for the alphabet soup title.

It's getting down to the nitty gritty. That's all the teams that remain in this thing. I think it's a pretty well diverse group of teams, not an overwhelming amount from a particular era or federation in my opinion.

TNA stays alive for one more round. Sure, the runt of the litter went out but damn it, only just. For what has essentially been a titleless jobber team they did pretty fucking well. If voters had swung as much in favour of the Guns as, say, E&C, it'd be a clean sweep.

A challenge lays ahead with the Outsiders. More interestingly, I have to choose between AMW and LAX. It's like Sophie's Choice!

This is actually a HUGE batch of my Kool-Aid right in front of us. BB&D are obviously the pick I will ride to the end (and the championship), but The Blondes and the Thrillseekers are a pet project of mine too. Admins got two automatic entries, and both of mine are still alive and kicking.

Harts vs Dudleys is gonna be a classic.

Harlem Heat vs Money Inc won't be as close as some may think.

Big, Bad, & Dangerous have a relatively easy match with an overmatched Brain Busters team.

The Thrillseekers are in an unenviable positions with a date with the dogs.

AMW vs LAX is a match between two modern teams who JUST missed each other.

And Rougeaus vs Headshrinkers is another of my Kool-aid soaked enigmas.

I can't wait.

I'm not sure that the Big Bad and Dangerous vs. Brainbuster match is as overwhelming as you think. I try not to drink the Horsemen Kool-Aid, but Arn is bad ass and so is Tully, and to do what they did in both the NWA and WWF speaks volumes.
