The Dark Knight is NOT a good comic book film. Sure it has comic book elements like characters, but that's where it ends. It is in fact a mob movie with a special ops guy taking them out.
That being said it is a very good mob movie, arguably one of the best of the decade (if sales are to be taken into account)
Seven Samurai is a film about seven different personalities coming together to help out a village in need (can't remember what that's called) and it really works. They characterise every character and you feel something when one of them dies. The Dark Knight didn't do as a good job with their character development. Yes you got the Joker, Batman and Harvey Dent done pretty well but they failed to do the same for Rachel and even Gordon.
Tough one to call because I really like both but Seven Samurai was the better made film, so I'll go with that.
