Round Two

lightyagami-vs-ironman.png

It's a clash of genius against genius as Iron Man, Tony Stark, takes on criminal mastermind Light Yagami! Will this match prove that the pen is indeed mightier than the sword? Or will Iron Man's firepower win him another round?

FIGHT!

Unless I'm reading this guy Light's profile wrong, he has no powers except for the Death Note ledger. From what I garner from the rules he cannot start writing until the word "Fight" is uttered and unless he can write faster than a repulsor blast he is completely SOL. Tony walks into the next round.

This is the only correct way of thinking for this round. Unless Tony got drunk beforehand, this is his round easy. I'm not too familiar with Death Note, but I'm sure he'd have to write down his full name as to not accidentally kill someone else, but he wouldn't even get done with Anthony before a repulsor blast takes him down.

Light is fucked, especially if he isn't aware that Tony Stark is Iron Man, even so I'm pretty sure he can't right anyone's name fast enough to dodge ANYTHING Iron Man shits at him, shit knowing Stark I wouldn't be surprised if he just walked up to Light and punch in the face with his Iron Man gloves, turned around, said something witty & walked away...right into Round 3.

Even if Light knows that Iron Man is Tony Stark, he has no shot. The second the fight begins, Light could beg and plead, he can try to trick Iron Man, or he can run and hide, but there's nothing he can do to escape Iron Man. If Stark doesn't hammer Light with repulsor fire right off the bat, he'll track him down and knock his lights out.

Light will be lucky if he's able to walk after this fight. I hope Tony doesn't beat him too badly, because Light's a good kid that's in over his head in this one.

Iron Man wins.

I hate to say this because I'm such a huge fan of Death Note and Light Yagami but I think I'll have to give Iron Man the edge. Even if Light does know Iron Man's secret identity, I find it unlikely that he'll be able to write Tony Stark's full name down before he's blasted by him. In addition, you have to take into account that even if Light manages to write Stark's name down, it takes 40 seconds for the effects of the Death Note to kick in. I'm pretty sure 40 seconds is more than enough time to kill Light.

As of right now, it looks like Stark has the edge but I'll hold off on casting an official vote until someone can come up with a good argument in Light's favor. Besides, Iron Man is dominating the poll as of this post anyway.

Stark's identity isn't secret. Light would know his name right off the bat, and that alone is enough to give Light even the smallest chance at winning. Stark is also a genius and wouldn't fuck around and waste time firing missiles, no doubt, but Light is pretty durable and athletic for a high school kid. Depending on if he's quick on the draw he really could write down Stark's name in the Death Note while running and dodging, filling it in little by little whenever he has the chance.

Light survived getting shot several times, managing to cling to life for quite a while after. This could be his chance out. Light has shown several times in the past to be crazily prepared (I don't consider this preplanning - Preplanning would be writing down Stark's name before the fight has begun) and has pages of the Death Note scattered around his pockets and inside his watch, in the event of the Death Note being lost or destroyed. Even if he were gravely injured Light could find a way to write down Stark's name before he himself collapses or dies, and that alone could win him the fight.

Another "first strike" contest.

Iron Man obviously has the vastly superior fire power and speed. However, the arguments for Light are persuasive. He is always prepared as Doc has said and most importantly there is a good chance that Light's arsenal is bolstered with Iron Man's real name. Tony Stark being Iron Man is not a secret meaning that Light has a good chance of knowing it.

This means that essentially this fight comes down to whether Light can get out his pen/bloodied needle, open the Death Note/find a piece of it and write down "Tony Stark." Because of this, which Tony Stark appears once he sees that a seemingly harmless kid who he does not know is his opponent becomes of paramount importance - billionaire playboy or ingenius inventor every bit as clever as his opponent?

I tend to think that because this is the second round, Stark will be on the ball and wary that this kid has also come through the first round - although wariness may not be the key to success for Stark. Perhaps in a strange turn around it might be better for Stark is his more cavalier side is unleashed in this fight - shoot first, ask questions later.

A tough one but I think Iron Man will just take it.

Stark's identity isn't secret. Light would know his name right off the bat, and that alone is enough to give Light even the smallest chance at winning.

However, Light is from a parallel universe and his opponent would simply be listed as 'Iron Man', which wouldn't get the job done as it is an alias. Finding out the real name of someone not from your dimension has to be considered pre-emptive.

Really not sufficient for a guy with scattershot and prolonged rayblast facilities.

He isn't getting shot, if Shell Head wants him dead - he's dead! If he want's him unconscious, he still won't be waking up for a while (and incapacitation = victory). You talk about Light being prepared, well Tony Stark does not take chances. Mr Yagami really has no realistic chance against Iron-Man in this style of tournament.
