By this we mean anyone who has moved to a new promotion. It's not the firmest set of requirements.
I'm going with The Authors. I respect the category goes by a loose definition of rookie, but the Authors are rookies in the truest sense and have accomplished quite a bit. I'm still apprehensive about their style after the major botch to that enhancement talent, but one instance does not represent a trend.
AJ Styles and Charlotte still fit this criteria.
But I guess reluctantly I have to go with James Ellsworth. Beating the World champ a few times should guarantee ROTY. That and he didn't come into WWE from any big promotion .
Alexa was nearly all around awful when she showed up in NXT. Now a days, her offense is just pretty awful and she's a women's champion, so she wins for me I guess.
