Ron 'R-Truth' Killings

Low_Ki

Former WZCW Tag Team Champion
Now from my standpoint, R-Truth is starting very slowly to get over with the crowd. To some of you, he may already be over. Creative and management are reportedly very high on Killing's character right now, and I think pushing him into the main even of SummerSlam proves that.

But I remember a time, long before TNA's inception when R-Truth was actually called K-Kwik in his first stint in the then WWF. He was quickly placed with The Road Dogg Jesse James and they formed what was then quite a mediocre tag team. If my memory serves me correctly, BA Billy Gunn had just broken off from the Road Dogg and WWF creative used K-Kwik as a go between. He didn't last too long before he was eventually let go.

Obviously, after TNA's inception, Truth went to TNA and in the early years of the company became TNA World Champion, and re-joined The Road Doog (BG James) and created the stable 3LiveCru.

He returned to WWE last year as R-Truth, and has since been pushed by management as a top face on RAW.

Obviously now, because of the PG-era, R-Truth is the perfect, cool character who is completely PG friendly, but my question is, where does Truth go from here. His entrance is getting a little repetitive, and he hasn't held any major titles in a while, and I don't think he has held one since coming to RAW. Where does his character go from here after SummerSlam, and will he be WWE Champion one day, or will he be doomed to live in the mid-card?

Opinions and comments?

R-Truth won the US Championship since bein on Raw, from Miz, if you do not remember. And R-Truth is very over right now, and sooner than later, he will break into the main event scene. Reported multiple times, Vince wants African Americans in the main event, and the most over on Raw is R-Truth, where on SmackDown, it's Kofi Kingston.

The way booking has built up R-Truth, he can go either way. Truth has clean victories over people like CM Punk who are considered to be one of the best the E has to offer, card-wise. He's got the ability to go against anyone, but when something matters he can't seem to get it done. Truth won his first championship since returning with the WWE by defeating the Miz for the United States title... only to be taken away from him by Miz. He's definitely got what it takes to hold a championship, but considering his age and the fact the E are pushing for younger talent to rise through the ranks... I don't think he will hold another for a long period of time. He's a solid guy in the mid-card who can transition into the main event any time and look credible. You have a victory over Truth and it'll give you momentum.

If anything, I think Truth will stay in the mid-card scene considering how stacked the Main Event is. If he does come up, he'll be there to fill and I wouldn't consider him WWE champion at this point. I definitely see a tag team championship run with Morrison, as well as another US title reign... but other than that, he's just going to be another entertainer (a DAMN good one at that). But then again... I could be wrong.

I'd say we're likely to see him either win the next MITB match or end up elevated into the main event ranks very soon. He's already picked up what looks like a new finisher (that vertical suplex stunner he did at Summerslam, I marked out like a 5 year old when I saw it) and he's extremely over with the crowds. Unlike Morrison, who needs either a heel turn or a title run of some sort, R-Truth is pretty much set at the moment where they could feasibly leave him in the mid card a bit longer, then give him a similar push to that of Sheamus; he'd still be over, and he'd be ten times easier to sell as a world champ.

What I'd like to see is Morrison & R-Truth win the WWE Tag Team Championship, hold those for a good few months, then a break-up of the team brought about by a Morrison heel turn. I'd like to see that feud run until WrestleMania and I think those guys could put some great matches together which I think would elevate both of them to the becoming more viable options for the main event scene. As has been mentioned already a Money in the Bank win later and you have R-Truth in a top spot, deservingly and believably. I find Truth extremely entertaining, he's a very charismatic dude and is a lot of fun to watch in the ring. I also loved the modified stunner at SummerSlam. Hopefully he'll get the push I feel he deserves in the next year because again, as has been brought up already, he's not a youngster.

He has been US champion not long ago, but it was a short reign..I think he should regain the title some day...

I think he has the perfect character and you're rught his entrance is becoming repetitive but the crowd loves it, and there have been runours about a possible heel turn and a new theme song that he will debut soon as well, this looks like a change and good things can come from this..as long as he in on Raw and part of the upper-midcard...he can go far..

Do I see him as a World champion soon? Maybe, well never say never on that one, I think the first black wrestler in this era who should hold the title is Kofi, but he has been stuck in the midcard on Smackdown for some time and is in a good feud with Zigs, but as for R Truth, I would love to see him as a world champion!

to be honnest i rather ron 'the truth' killings in tna so much more to me he doesnt need to be in the wwe he will stay as a mid carder

im not the biggest fan of rtruth because of his finisher...hope he gets a new one.... and the fact that i think he is just boring in the ring. i dont see him a future world champion. i can see him getting drafted back to sd and then have a i.c title reign or 2. dont wanna see him tag with morrison. if he does tag i wanna see him tag with mvp

R-Truth has a unique style....the enterance may be stale, but, the kids love it. I too think he would be better off on Smackdown though. I don't see a world title in his future, but, I do think he will get an IC or Tag run or two before all is said and done.

r-truth and morrison need to feud, ted dibiase is absolutely horrid and morrison jobbbing to him doesn't help him at all, stick morrison against truth with morrison turning heel and you couldn't have more of a win win situation

I feel like instead of giving a live entrance do a recorded one to go with his entrance vid like TNA or make him come up with a new rap that involved WWE in some way would help like when he mentioned TNA in the original Whats Up.

As for his use..... I feel he could be that great mid-carder for a few years that they are missing. I would use him to make the U.S. Title into legitimate titles again with the likes of Bryan, John Morrision (with a heel turn), Bourne, Ted DiBiase, Zack Ryder, and a lone Justin Gabriel

As for World Champion I don't feel with the direction of the main eventers WWE is taking that "The Truth" will make it. However, with the signing of Consquences Creed I would like to see those two team up and build up the Tag Team Division. As I was disappointed as when he left TNA they were going to make those two a Tag Team based on Truth & Consquences.

R truth is 38 years old. His current run in the WWE has only spanned two years. In those two years, he is yet to have a feud with an established main eventer, he has had one short reign as US Champion, and he has competed for a world championship once (in an Elimination Chamber.) This doesn't seem like the resume of a superstar who is going to be pushed soon...

At his age, R Truth is older than a lot of the current main eventers such as John Cena, Randy Orton and Edge. And yes, while WWE is trying to push new stars into the main event, these typically tend to be younger stars (Kane is an exception as he's been in the main event before.) I don't see why they would bother pushing Truth at his age.

Also, while Truth is over, or getting over, or whatever...Santino Marella is also over. Just because the crowd give Truth a nice pop, doesn't mean he's world-title material. Personally, I can't take R Truth seriously enough to see him holding a world title. His character is pretty laid back and unless he developes a Kofi Kingston mean streak, i can't see him as someone to be involved in heated feuds (at the moment, an angry R Truth makes me laugh)

Maybe he just needs some high profile feuds to build credibility, but personally, i just don't see him as the kindof guy to carry a brand or title. Plus, his entrance is getting really annoying.

With some solid, clean wins over good competitors, I don't think Truth will have much trouble being a viable main-eventer. It'd be silly to rush him into things now, but give him a few months of proper booking and NOT doing what they did with Kofi and push him to the moon only to bury him later, and I definitely think we could be looking at a major contender in the years to come.

Someone said Truth is boring in the ring..... WTF. He's a better wrestler than John Cena, Sheamus( He's Devoloping Though ), Chirstan, you get my point. He's not the greatest in the the ring. But he's more exciting than a Supercena match. Just the other day I was watching Over The Limit on DVD, and R-truth went agianst Ted Dibassi, good match, and Truth did this awsome move.... he held him up in the air a supplex postion and turned him in mid and ted landed in a stunner. Name someone else that can do that.

I want R-Truth to become the US Champ and hold it for months and defend it against top talent like Evan Bourne, Ted Dibiase, Zack Ryder, Daniel Bryan, Mark Henry etc so he looks like a solid Champ. I just hope that all of the titles don't get unified because R-Truth won't get a chance at becoming a World Champ.
