Role Playing Strategy / Tactics games.

This is an odd mix of both Role Playing Games & Turn Based Strategy games.

Examples include Fire Emblem, Vandal Hearts, & Final Fantasy Tactics. It's really kind of like a modern version of Chess. I really love this genre to death, but there seems to be so few franchises out there that make use of this genre. I would love to find more games to play like this. Does anyone have anything to recommend?

For those of you who are unfamiliar with this genre check this out, it's a (kind of overdramatic) tribute to what is IMO the single best tactics game ever, the first Vandal Hearts game (the sequels sucked).

I would definitely recommend Syndicate Wars. This is the ONLY strategy game that I loved to play and it's one of my favorite games of all time.

Syndicate Wars is about a syndicate group of cyber agents that are out to either assassinate rival groups, collect money and intel, or rescue fellow syndicate members in a cyberpunk world. You can upgrade your characters with mechanical limbs and guns and you can also create a rebellion group of civilians that can help you in a war. Environments are also destructible and cars can be driven in this game.

I love the atmosphere and the freedom of play in this game. There many ways to complete missions and it's also an addicting game. I say you should check it out.
