Davey richards finally has won the title...im beyond pumped...a hell of a match too. What do you guys think about this? Obviously, I marked out but how do you all feel especially considering Edwards short reign.

I was hoping Edwards would retain as I like him more than Richards, but I'm happy Richards finally won the title. It's something a lot of fans have been wanting to happen for over year and now they finally get. His post-match speech made me a fan of his as it was one of the most emotional moments I have seen in wrestling in a long time. I see Richards holding the belt for a long time, possibly well over a year.

As for Edwards, he came out of the match looking like a million bucks. Edwards took everything Richards had and kept getting up. Richards was forced to completely destory Edwards in the end to win the belt. I think Edwards can come out of this match pretty easily without losing momentum.

Match was great, fine, but I wanted Edwards to retain.

It's obvious this has been made so that Richards can carry ROH into the SBG deal, with the television deal and all, a lot of wrestling fans even ones that don't watch ROH know of Richards, so I guess he's a good person to have the John Cena-esq role within ROH. As the face.

Still, I prefer Edwards over Richards.

I wasn't sure about the title change, as it would give Edwards alot of credibility if he had beat the "Best in the World" if he had retained. It would have been nice to see him have a longer title reign, but ROH essentially backed themselves into a corner with the stipulation that Davey would never challenge for the title again if he lost. Still, as my favorite ROH wrestler and perhaps my favorite worker between the ropes going today, Im glad they put the belt on Davey.

As far as the match goes, I think it has to get serious consideration in the MOTY territory. I was burnt out after the 40 minute tag match, but this one soon livened me back up quickly. I felt they did a good job early of playing off their familarity with each other, as both had to come up with unique ways to get their signature moves in. The superplex into the standing suplex directly into the crossarmbreaker was one of the cooler spots Ive ever seen. There were so many great submissions and reversals that I lost track, and they did an awesome job of building up to the finish of the match. Richards post-match promo was a nice, real emotional moment and showed why he should be the guy to lead the company going forward in their new TV deal.

While I do question the decision somewhat to take the title off of Edwards, I think Richards is the right guy going forward. I prefer him over Edwards personally and have since I saw him wrestle live at DGUSA against Shingo. The man is just the complete package with regards to being a powerhouse that can take to the air with the best of them, and can pull a submission out of nowhere. I was disapointed when he initially said he was going to step away from wrestling, and Im glad he stayed despite the tumultuous year he's had with his divorce and all. Richards could be a great champion and whoever unseats him should get a heckuva rub in doing so. Even though they didnt maximize Edwards potential as champion, Richards is ultimately the right guy going foward to lead the company. I prefer him slightly to Edwards, and Id love to see another match between the two. But Im through the moon that he won the title.

Funny enough, I actually thought Richards would be the one to take the belt off of Homicide back in 2007. He had the strong ties with KENTA who was sort of unbeatable during his stints in ROH and Richards had matches with the ROH legend Low Ki where he came out really strong.

I thought they missed an opportunity when they didn't pull the trigger on him years ago, but now he's the Champ so congrats to him. I just hope its not like Tyler Black where he should have held the belt before and his momentum has been lost. I don't think so though as Richards has a strong indy following.

I'm happy to see Davey Richards as ROH World Champion. It was something that was surprising as I never expected it at all. I hope for the best during his championship reign.

I loved this entire match, storyline, build up, result, and even post-match promo. Everything about this was just perfect. Even the fact that Eddie won the TV Title over Eddie in March last year. That played into this match. I can't speak for anyone else, but I always saw this tag team as more of a teacher/student duo with Davey being the star and Eddie being his talented but not quite there yet protege. Then when Eddie won the TV Title everybody kind of saw a shift and they were closer to equal. Then Davey went on this quest to win the World Title and just kept losing in messed up ways like that concussion against Roddy. Eddie won the title and you just couldn't help but feel the tension between the two ever since. Then when Davey announced that if he doesn't win the title it'd be his last title opportunity I freaked out a little.

I went into the PPV kind of knowing, in the back of my mind, that Davey was going to win, but they kept on giving me that little bit of doubt as the match went forward. Anybody who is a WWE Smark who says that ROH doesn't know how to tell stories needs to witness this entire storyline and try their damnedest to stand by their statement with a straight face.

It was a fantastic feeling when Davey won the belt. The match was full of suspense and intensity, which to me was the match of the night. I'm happy to see that Davey Richards is finally the champ, after all the hard work he's put in over the years around the world.

I also had the opportunity to celebrate with Davey after the match, up-close and personal. Both Eddie Edwards and Davey worked their asses off, but I'm just proud of Davey Richards for being the deserving world champ :)

Richards has been my favorite wrestler for a few years now. He's the personification of why ROH is great. Even though they're small and don't have a lot of money, ROH is booked in a way that makes it feel like the wrestlers WANT to be there, like the wrestlers in ROH are the BEST on the planet, like they are a BIG DEAL. While certain other promotions come off as second rate, always trying to be better than certain other promtions, ROH is just being the best it can be. Davey Richards IS ROH, kudos to him.
