Report: Potential Headliners For The WWE Hall Of Fame Class Of 2014

According to a report first put out on PWInsider.com and later reported on wrestlinginc.com, it's looking as though WWE is considering having D Generation X as the headliners for the WWE Hall of Fame next year. Allegedly, before Triple H was successful in securing Bruno Sammartino for a long awaited HOF induction, DX was set to headline this year's class.

Word going around, according to the report, is that Chyna may be part of the induction as WWE will probably invite her. Allegedly, there are sources saying that Chyna's aware of the possible induction and that talks between her & WWE may have already started.

While I can't exactly say that I was ever overly impressed with Chyna, she was part of DX from its formation and her very unique appearance in the late 90s did help her to stand out noticeably. If DX, then everyone that was a member of the group, ideally, should be included. It could be a lot of fun seeing as how all the other members of DX are working for and on good terms with WWE. HBK is still signed to WWE and makes occasional appearances, X-Pack is signed to a Legends deal, Billy Gunn is a trainer in NXT, Road Dogg is a road agent, and Trips is an executive & occasional wrestler that will be running the place in time.

It could be a lot of fun all in all, I'm just hoping it doesn't blow up in WWE's face when it comes to Chyna. Chyna's personal life & various exploits have been a solid source of fodder for tabloids. IF all this is true, then I'm a little surprised that WWE reached out to Chyna because, last I heard, she's still involved in porn. Again, if all this is accurate, then I'd say Triple H could be the one that's reached out. Generally speaking, it seems as though he doesn't fret nearly as much over WWE's PG image as Vince does.

Chyna should without a doubt be inducted with DX. She was an essential part into the formation of DX and it's popularity that having her not go in would be an absolute travesty.

Now as for her out of the ring endevours of course this could be a cause for concern for the WWE. Now of course porn isn't PG however I think that as long as she agrees to behave herself then it's no big deal. Each year there's always someone indicted who has had some sort of controversy either in their wrestling career or outside of it. Now as far as I can tell if they get inducted I wouldn't think that they'd allow her mic time. DX is quite a large group and there's no reason for them to have to have everybody talk. However, I like the idea of throwing the entire stable into the Hall and think that it'll be good for the HOF as they were truly innovative and legendary.

I think the only person suitable to induct them is Vince himself as that's who the main feuds were with and I see no argument to that. Chyna however was a big part of the group and if Trips thinks that she'll behave and participate for the WWE in a positive manner I'm more then happy for her to be get the recognition.

Side note: they may have to refrain from their favorite two words if people are not "down with that."

DX would be such a disappointment to me as a headliner. With it being the 30th anniversary of WM, I'd really like to see them induct the best class possible.

Guys like Owen, Jake, Hall, Nash, Rude, Davey Boy, Demolition, and Savage if they could somehow work out the situation w/ him wanting his entire family inducted at the same time.

I wouldn't mind seeing DX be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, but I'm not so sure I would want them to be the headliner per se. For an anniversary WM, it would be nice to see someone huge. Someone like a Macho Man Randy Savage. Or the Ultimate Warrior (albeit a little risky). My personalize preference would be for the headline induction at WM 30 to be none other than Vincent Kennedy McMahon.

In reality, the balance of power will shift from VKM to Triple H. The seeds have been set for this to happen on screen as well. By the time WM rolls around, the Mr. McMahon character can be retired, with the transition behind the scenes well underway at all. Who better to be a number one induction than Mr. McMahon?

Macho Man is a big enough name to be a number one induction but because it's posthumous, he may not be the number one guy. They may want the main featured guy to be present in person. The Ultimate Warrior would be big enough to be number one, but he may be just slightly crazy enough to not risk it.

I agree with a poster above who said that Triple H should be inducted individually before being inducted as a faction in either DX or Evolution. And it's too soon to do him individually yet. Personally, I like DX just fine, but I'm not sure they're big enough to be the focal point of the ceremony. Road Dogg. Billy Gunn. X-Pac. The lunatic Chyna. These guys just don't scream number one inductees. Triple H and HBK, sure, but personally I would prefer to see them as a secondary or even tertiary induction, and preferably a few years down the road.

Chyna should be included with DX. She was there in the beginning. And she was there a long time. As long as she agrees to behave, and not go off the wall with the porn stuff, she should be fine.

As far as Vince going in, I've heard interviews with Triple H saying Vice doesn't want to be. My guess is, when Vince does go in, it will be posthumously.

To everyone who has said Savage, Rude, Owen and Davey Boy Smith. Give it sometime. They will all be inducted just not all in one ceremony. an you imagine a WWE HOF ceremony with only posthumous nominees. I say one posthumous inductee a year.

As for DX being inducted, I'm not sure if I am a fan of them headlining the ceremony. Sure induct them (including Chyna), just not headline. I will likely get some heat for this but my pick to headline is The Undertaker. Mania is his event. If this is his final WM as rumoured to be then why not induct him the night before his final match. I would rather that they honour the streak and his career the night before his final match than wait a year to induct him. And for anybody who says "why induct an active wrestler?" don't turn around the next sentence and say induct DX.... ummm HHH is still an active wrestler as well.

D-X should be in the Hall Of Fame. But not before Triple H has had his own individual induction. There's no rush to get D-X in there. Wait ten years. By then they'll be struggling for headline acts and D-X would be a suitable choice.

Chyan is almost as integral part of D-X as HBK, so you can't induct them without her.

Nothing says "family friendly" like a woman in green paint getting a train run on her. Not to mention that the report is worded very, very vaguely and cites sources close to Chyna, not close to WWE. There was a time when sources close to Chyna (an actual agent or rep) denied that she was in porn, only for her to have a video released like the next month. Chyna has well documented substance abuse problems, is emotionally unstable, and routinely takes money shots to the face. Again, I'll believe she's going into the HoF when it happens.

There was a report on WZ a year ago that Triple H wants to go in alone before going in with DX. I agree with that sentiment. It's like inducting Arn Anderson alone after inducting the Horseman, or inducting Terry Funk after inducting the Funks. They're already in, what's the point?

I think next year we'll be seeing (1) The Rock, (2) Paul Bearer, (3) Owen Hart, (4) Jake Roberts, (5) Teddy Long, (6) The Honky Tonk Man, (7) Lita.

Being the 30th Wrestlemania, I would suggest WWE would want to induct people of significance at this event, Vince wlll go all out. Now not since 2004 has WWE inducted more than one posthumous inductee from memory, I could see him making an exception this year.
Paul Bearer is already confirmed, we know this. Ulitmate Warrior is going through the same process of healing in the public eye that Bruno and Backlund have done so beforehand. Jake Roberts is getting to be in the best health of his life. My 2014 HOF inductees are as follows, based both on hope and what I see already unfolding.
Ultimate Warrior, Paul Bearer, Jake Roberts, Rick Martel, Demolition, Lita and an old timer, like King Kong Bundy

While I believe that Wrestlemania 30 should have a great class, however there are alot of wrestlers that deserve to be in the Hall Of Fame before DX gets in. Guys like Jake Roberts, The Greatest IC Champ of All Time honkey Tonk Man, The Freebirds man they are the greatest 3 man team ever. Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth. Paul Bearer. the sticking point I would think is Stephanie McMahon, would she allow her husband to have his ex partner in crime sniffing around in any capacity whatsoever? She was basically cut from WWE once Steph and HHH became romantically linked in real life in 2001.Forget her adult film career she is wayward on drugs, and could she be trusted?????
I agree with the majority here and yes, DX do have a place in the WWE HOPF, but it doesn't have to be next year,. plenty of others MORE deserving than X-Pac, Gunn and James. HHH will go in when he eventually retires from in ring activity.

I have no problem with DX being inducted into the HOF not at all. But not as headliners they shouldnt be. This will be WM30,something that needs to be very special ala Unify the titles but this not the discussion at hand.

Sure DX will be inducted and rightfully so. They were the best renegade group in wrestling history took no shit and were very risky for their time or any time for that matter. But like I said,this needs to be special. DX should not headline the HOF. It should be VKM. Damn right it should be vinnie mac. We all know his position in wrestling without him,wrestling as we all know it would have died all together. IMO he single handily saved Sports Entertainment. He took chances that no other promoter before or after him would ever dream to take. Vince is a certified Genius a madman and very successful.

Also in the HOF,Uhhhh this pains me to no end believe me. Ultimate Warrior,Macho Man Randy Savage,Owen Hart,Rick Rude,Jake the Snake Roberts,Lita,maybe you can throw in Steiner Brothers,Demolition,Harlem Heat! But those people i just named should without a doubt be in the HOF! I wasn't aware of Scott Hall's porn career. Regardless, he's irrelevant to this discussion, as his name isn't being bandied about for Hall of Fame induction. X-Pac was indeed a partner in the sextape, but he didn't parlay that into a career in porn nor was his name in the title of said sextape. HBK posed for a magazine just like Chyna did, sure. However, unlike Chyna, he stopped there. Chyna has a porn career. She's done multiple illicit films under the name Chyna. What she does to earn a living stands in direct contrast to the image that WWE is trying to portray. It can, has, and will be used against her. She is rarely mentioned in retrospectives or recaps, she doesn't have an alumni profile on WWE.com, and she probably won't be invited to the Hall of Fame. In short, you're a moron who completely missed my point.

DX deserve to enter the Hall Of Fame with Mike Tyson to induct them. Chyna's career after wrestling isn't necessarily something that the WWE would want to be brought up. However, if DX were inducted as a stable then how many people would actually be focusing on Chyna. With Billy Gunn, Road Dogg, X-Pac, HBK and Triple H there won't be too much focus on her.

As for other inductees, Paul Bearer is a certainty. Ultimate Warrior could potentially be another. He is in WWE 2K14 which suggests he is on good terms with the company. Other than that; it is Wrestlemania 30 so they need a very strong class. The "headliner" should be The Rock. It is about time he is inducted an he is a perfect headliner for WM30.

The Rock, DX, Paul Bearer, Ultimate Warrior would be a decent class.
