Getting Noticed By Management
I recently started scouring Youtube for videos of Reid Flair and I was impressed with his progress as a wrestler from November 2010 until the last match I watched from January 2011.
The first match I watched was in a small gym for an unknown wrestling company facing a guy nobody had ever heard of. In that match Reid showed that he was great at selling, he sold everything done to him beautifully. However his offense was soft and not polished. He didnt follow through on clotheslines, his collar/elbow tieups were weak at best, and his awareness had much to be desired.
Fast Forward three months. Reid was in, ironic enough his dad's old stomping ground Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling against a former ECW Star Chris Hamrick. It is well known that Ric took a few weeks off in December to work with Reid and it showed. Reid's hookups were tight, his chops were crisp, his move set was more defined, and I didn't see a botch on his part during the entire 14 minute match.
The improvement was outstanding in the three months from the first match I watched until the last match and in such a short time. His dad didnt even start wrestling from what I understand until he was 31. Now granted Reid is very generic all around, no impact moves, no personality, uses the Figure Four, generic ring entrance, so there is lots of work to do.
Could you see Reid, in a year or two on Tough Enough, in TNA, or working the main event in a place like Mid-Atlantic or Ohio Valley Wrestling? I think he could.
