Red in The Cage

Porn is okay here long as it ain't dudes.
I'm not here to whine or anything of the sort, but I am confused about something.

I've read the Rules Of The Cage (which is certainly simple and to the point) and checked out the threads that were going on. In one section I happened to go to a link provided by someone's sig and it lead me to the "If WZ Was A Wrestling Company..." thread. Not realizing the age of it, I posted. I was red repped for it for the reason given:

"idiot. why post in this dead thread.."

Now I can understand getting replied to on the conditions of how old something is, but seeing how it was The Cage I figured that "anything goes" and it wasn't a big deal. So why isn't there a rule or something that dictates you cannot post on a no-longer visable thread?

I wouldn't bring this up for any other forum, but it's The Cage; people can say whatever they feel. So why can't I comment on what should be a continuous thread anyways?

Not saying I feel cheated, I just go by the rules given to me and figure what's not there should be okay. It's The Cage after all.

With that in mind: If a thread is "dead", shouldn't it be closed to avoid confusion?

There's no specific rules to whether anybody is or is not allowed to red rep you for posting in a thread that was "dead" months ago. The "anything goes" in terms of the cage is in the definition of being allowed to post against the majority of the WZ rules with exception of torrents and pornographic content.

However, there's no rules against bumping an old thread, or not bumping an old thread. So there's nothing to prohibit the users from red repping you or anything of that manner.

People can rep you for whatever reason they want no matter how stupid or petty, if the thread is still open, no matter how old it is, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to post in it
