Recent Match Quality On Raw

Now I remember a few months ago, speaking to a friend, saying that Raw was a worthless show if you wanted good in ring action, you always had fairly stacked cards but the time given to each match was minimal and it was all very much 'by the motions' kind of stuff. You'd get maybe 2 good matches a month but as of late I've found the in ring stuff on Raw every bit as good as what we are used to seeing from Smackdown if not better due to the added heat generally given to Raw feuds.

Alberto Del Rio Vs John Morrison
John Cena Vs CM Punk
The Miz Vs CM Punk
Randy Orton Vs Dolph Ziggler

in the past 2 weeks have all been very exciting matches which made all parties involved look credible, as opposed to the usual burying job they like to do with matches on Raw. This means that even a lackluster Raw is worth looking into these days, whereas before if the wasn't much going on storyline wise you had nothing to fall back on.

Yeh I agree but you would expect them to be good matches (the ones u said) because all of them are good in the ring and have good chemistry together in the ring. But on the other hand, some matches have been poor this month I think i can remember atleast 5 squash matches off the top of my head this month.Smackdown matches are always longer and are at a better quality than RAW matches due to RAW more concentrating towards there storylines which include loads of Mic time, back to the positive stuff.I also found the Tag Match last week ON RAW quite good aswell and had a good finish. The match quality is obviously based on who your working with in the ring.If your oppenant has a similar style to you,or use are regualry working together then you will put on a good match because you know what's coming next.Miz&Punk have good chemisty in the ring even though they haven't gone 1 on 1 with eachother. They have similar styles and go well together.Punk&Cena will obviously put on a good match.JO-MO&Del Rio are great in the ring and it weren't a surprise they worked together well.Randy&Dolgh was the best match in my eyes out of them all,the finish was so well executed and they have great chemistry. But yeh the match quality has slighty risen from past months but there is still room for improvemnt even though your going to have squash matches sometimes.

dolph carried orton

Obviously you don't know what your talking about. How did Dolgh carry Orton?
Orton is one of the best in the buisness and has even got credit from one of the best in history Bret Hart,Dolgh Ziggler is great in the ring but he did not carry Orton at all.Just coz your Dolgh Ziggler mark don't mean you don't use your brain.

dolph carried orton, but my fav would be the miz vs punk

As I am a Dolph Ziggler and Randy Orton fan I will say that no Dolph didn't carry Orton. Nor did Orton carry Ziggler. I think they just worked really damn well against eachother. They had great timing on just about every move they made. It was a damn near good match as they both worked like a well balanced machine. An this also show's that Ziggler can hang with Main Eventer's to for I give that match 3.5 stars for being on a raw.

No I understand what you are saying here OP, where as I barley watch Smackdown but when I do the wrestling is better and longer. Raw was mostly Promo after promo, with a few matche's on the card. Now it seems Raw is getting more into the role of having good matches and having them last a little while then longer. I hope raw keeps this up as Smackdown still puts on better matches. I see a lot of good things on Raw happening an the product is looking fresh again.

Oh an the Punk promo was pretty good last night (not a HUGE Punk fan here) just the whole Stephanie is your boss thing is becoming old. But this guy is growing on me more and more.

I have to disagree with anyone that says Raw hasn't had good match quality up until recently. Since the beginning of 2010, there's been a HUGE increase in wrestling match quality on Raw.

I remember back in 2009, there were often times when I was embarassed to be watching Raw. Throughout most of that year, especially in the second half, much of what we saw consisted of mostly just 3-4 minute filler matches, tons of long & drawn out promos or ridiculous comedy skits that did nothing but eat up time. Since 2010, I think Raw's gotten back on track when it comes to actual wrestling. You're almost always guaranteed to have at least 2, 10+ minute competitive matches on Raw each week, sometimes not as much however in the month leading up to WrestleMania, but most of the time.

Lately, there's just a sense of energy that hasn't been there on Raw. Things are changing in the WWE, a lot of things are being shaken up, there's been a few storylines with some intriguing mysteries and it's added a little extra kick to the show. We see guys out there on Raw over the past few months that are being given as much, if not more, time on television than John Cena and I think that's made some people happy as well. I think all the various changes, shake ups, mysteries and a few surprises here and there are really what a lot of people feel because there's been solid action on Raw for quite a while now in my view.
