Really? Really Music Industry?

Anyways, I don't see what the problem is here. People seem to forget this was not a criminal trial, it was a civil trial. In ANY civil lawsuit, the plaintiff has the right to sue for the maximum amount allowed under law. People also seem to be forgetting the real problem here isn't that this guy downloaded the songs, but that he distributed them. Let's say he distributed those 30 songs to 100 people (which I think all of us would agree would likely be a VERY conservative effort, given how file sharing works). Suddenly it's not $22,500 per song, but $225 per song. $225 per song (again, conservative estimate) is really not that large of a penalty to pay for breaking the law and wronging the people who own the rights to the song.

The people who are complaining about this don't really seem to look at the big picture.

Is the eight season the one where half the cast left? I never watched that one.

Yes. You should. It's the birth of Alan Shore, my second hero and avatar.

Good. Dude is a moron for a number of reasons.

1. Illegal file sharing
2. Not accepting a lower amount
3. Why do this when the songs are cheap and you can just use YouTube?

Most of the time when you rob a store, you don't pay a fine. You go to jail.

Wrong, most of the time you not only go to jail, but you pay a fine, plus restitution if what was stolen can't be returned. I know somebody that's was arrested for stealing shit, that's what happened.
