Right? Like that's not even so much booking logic as it is just... regular wrestling match logic.

Yep. It's been a problem for a very long time, such as why there's no countout when people brawl on the floor for five minutes or the crazy levels of discretion in a DQ. Take the match last year where Enzo Amore got injured and fell outside. If they're just going to give the Vaudevillains the match, just do a quick countout. It's the same result and looks more realistic. But no, let's just go with the panic answer, likely because they would get in trouble for going off script.
