Rashad Evans has shot back at Jon Jones, after comments made by Jones during a recent conference call, in an interview with Pro MMA Radio.

The two teammates have had a rocky relationship since Evans was forced out of his title shot against Mauricio Rua, and Jones stepped in as his replacement. Comments made by both fighters and head trainers Trevor Wittman and Greg Jackson have furthered ruptured their friendship.

Rashad is the one coming across as the bitch, not Jones. He's all pissy because Diego accidentally injured him and the brass decided to give Jones his shot since Rampage said no. What the fuck was Jones supposed to say? "No, I'm sorry, I can't take this fight because my teammate will act like a jealous schoolgirl."

Edit: Even more...

MMA Heat’s Karyn Bryant caught up with Rashad Evans to get clarification on the former UFC light heavyweight champion’s recent comments that he is considering leaving Team Jackson due to the rift that was created by Jon Jones snaking his title shot away from him.

Evans pulled no punches and his response which left nothing up to interpretation.

“What’s gonna happen is, the team’s are gonna split apart. If I know there’s a chance I’m training with Jon and Greg’s training with Jon, I’m not gonna train with Greg any more, EVER again. Because I need my coach to always be able to coach me no matter who I’m gonna fight. If he can’t do that, I don’t feel that there’s a use for me having him as my coach.”

I guess Rashad doesn’t remember how giving Jackson an ultimatum worked out for Diego when GSP became the apple of the Albuquerque trainer’s eye.

Rashad is a complete ass about this. This is why mother fuckers should stop treating MMA like it's a team sport.

If Rashad truly was a good friend, he wouldn't bitch about it he would be supportive of Jon Jones. Like you said Jones is not going to pass up a chance at a title shot, nobody will. Rashad is acting all high and mighty this is a good thing. Now there is a potential match up between Rashad vs Jones on the horizon im not complaining.

Oh fuck really who cares? Rashad was on the shelf and Bones took his spot, big deal. The way I'm looking at it is Rashad is pissed because Jones is getting the pay day and he isn't. It's not like Rashad can't get back to the top, he's been champ before. This is Jones' big shot. Regardless of win or loss for Jones I believe it will be a great fight, If he can pull off the win I would love to see him fight Rashad.

Yeah, this is pretty childish of Rashad. Shit happens, he got hurt, what was Jones not supposed to take the biggest fight in his career and miss out on being a world champion. I can see how he would worry a little bit about training with the same guy and exposing his gameplan, but there are still ways around that. Train at different times, but dropping an ultimatum on your coach is not the right way to go. However, this does make a fight between Jones and Evans all that much more likely if they have all this tension and they aren't training together anymore.

It's a bit beyond me. If Rashad thinks that giving Greg Jackson an ultimatum is the way to go, he should talk to the last person who did that. Diego Sanchez gave Greg Jackson this same ultimatum some odd years back when Jackson started training Georges St. Pierre....

Even more of an update to this situation. It appears that even Wittman thinks they need throw down. Rashad is finding himself the odd man out at Jackson's camp.

Fuck Rashad Evans. Seriously what "friend" would be mad at their "friend" for taking the opportunity of a lifetime? Sorry Jones isn't your bitch Rashad. Nothing pisses me off more than someone pulling shit like this. Rashad is just a jealous prick, and if he thinks that he can make Jackson feel guilty for training Jones than he is out of his mind. It's all Rashad's loss because he will lose a camp who many consider to be the #1 camp in MMA. Man the fuck up Rashad, and think about it. What can you possibly gain from leaving the camp? Child like behavior by Rashad...

I think Rashad is just trying to keep his name relevant.

It must have really bummed him out that not only was he unable to compete in a fight he trained months and months for, but then when it's announced he can't fight, people become overjoyed when it's announced that Jon Jones is his replacement.

Just think about that for a second... I think that would leave an upsetting tastes in any fighter's mouth. You give your life in training for fights in MMA, and when you can't fight, the last thing you want is for people to actually be happy about it. That shit must feel devastating.

So, Rashad just looked for an excuse to start running his mouth, and when Jon Jones said what he said, Rashad got his chance to reply and decided to make sure his name would get back in the headlines.

I really think the guy is feeling super insecure at this moment. He's still under the delusion that he deserves a title shot, and I think he's certain that Jon Jones will win this Saturday, so he's already starting the hype train so he can be an option for Jones' first title defense.

Basically, at the end of the day... it's just business, and Rashad has decided to heel it up a bit. I'm not a fan of Rashad's style in the octagon, but I think he's an awesome person, so I'm trying to look at this from his perspective and make sense out of it.

I completely understand how he feels, but not even a week ago he was saying how he'd never fight Jones and that they're "brothers." Dana was right on when he called bullshit at Sanchez vs. Kampmann. Wittman and Jackson are both calling bullshit. Jones realizes that if (when in his mind) he wins the belt, Rashad was the number 1 contender and if Rashad wants the belt, Jones isn't just gonna "give" it to him, he's gonna have to take it from him. So, Jones is open to a fight under those circumstances and those circumstances only.

It's not like Jones said "I want a three rounder with Rashad." Jones, much like anyone SHOULD, realizes that if he gets the strap, people are going to try to take it from him. If Eli had to go through Peyton to get his second ring, you can bet your ass he'd absolutely do it. Same with Peyton. MMA fighters and boxers seem to be the only people living under the delusion that you can call yourself the best without actually fighting someone because they're in your camp or, in the Klitschko's case, your brother.

Personally, I'd be willing to fight my brother OR my best friend if they were a contender or standing in my way of achieving greatness.
