Rank the top 10 current WWE themes

NotoriousWWE

Pre-Show Stalwart
Everyone knows how important a good theme is to get a superstar or diva over is in this day and age. Somebody like Curtis Axel isn't going to really grab the audiences attention walking out to the ring to a poorly put together guitar solo song. Themes like Stone Cold's and The Rock's are what really get the audience hyped and pumped up for their arrival. One of the key things for me in an entrance theme is the actual intro going into the theme. Below I'm going to list my top 10 current WWE themes and then list 5 that I think need fine tuning.

1. Kevin Owens - Fight
This theme is absolutely brilliant and fits Owens perfectly. I would actually say it's better than his ROH theme, no lyrics are necessary, just that powerful guitar riff. And as I mentioned how important an intro to a theme is, you know exactly who's coming when this theme hits.

2. Sheamus - Hellfire
Such an improvement from that god awful White Lies song he used before. Sheamus is now a heel that can be somewhat taken seriously despite the horrific haircut perhaps taking away his potential. It's so patriotic and reminds me of a battle theme for the Irish. Maybe not as good as Conor McGregor's intro though.

3. AJ Styles - Phenemonal
I was so worried when AJ signed that WWE were going to use some awful jobber like theme for Styles, but they nailed this one. The lyrics make perfect sense and the intro gives you goosebumps. The entrance itself however is a bit of a letdown for me and because the way the entrance is done doesn't really go in tune with the theme for me, it's lower than Sheamus.

4. Sasha Banks - Sky's the limit
By far the catchiest theme right now. Whenever this theme hits I find myself humming the tune. It's perfect for Sasha's gimmick and I love the rapping bit. It's the best divas theme I think we've ever heard. Lita's the only other one I can think of.

5. Finn Balor - Catch your breathe
Wasn't going to include NXT but this theme is going to be gold at WrestleMania. I think the fact that I haven't heard it at a big ppv yet is probably why it's so low down. Best theme in NXT by far.

6. Randy Orton - Voices
I don't think a theme has suited a wrestler more so than this one. If Orton was still using his viper gimmick from 2009 I'd be ranting and raving about this being the best. But he's sort of dropped down the card in recent years, lost a lot of steam and I don't know how to take his character. The theme still fits but man is the entrance itself boring now.

7. Enzo and Big Cass - Sawft
Again I wasn't going to include NXT but my god this theme is amazing. The only issue I have with it, is that the instrumental is a tad bit cringey and I hate when you're trying to listen to Enzo and you can continue to hear this theme playing.

8. Bray Wyatt - Live in fear
Another theme that uses an intro to grab the audiences attention. This is so creepy and evil sounding and suits Bray to the ground. I think WWE were going to try this without lyrics when bringing the family up from NXT but the lyrics work so well it would have been a shame. The only thing I hate is how the other members of the family other than Strowman, had other themes and still don't use them. Harper's was actually very good.

9. Seth Rollins - The Second Coming
I should probably hate this theme but Rollins makes it work. That cocky smirk and over exaggerated walk to the ring go so well with this theme. It is literally just a guitar riff playing over and over but it's annoying and that's exactly what Rollins is supposed to be. Maybe if he returns face we get a different theme.

10. John Cena - My time is now
Couldn't leave this off the list. It's extremely outdated but there has never been a theme other than Undertakers more synonymous with a wrestler than John Cena's. The intro is actually very cool and some of the lyrics bar the Colgate verse are catchy. I would love to hear what theme he uses if he ever turned heel.

Themes that need sorting out:

Roman reigns - How dare they reuse The Shield theme. I have nothing against Reigns and think he's actually talented. But I don't think this theme really fits his character. I think he should come out to something Lesnarish. Something really powerful and fresh.

League of Nations - by far the worst theme in WWE right now. I was actually excited to hear what theme WWE would use for these guys and they get some weird British like crap. Awful. Perfect for Barrett's King of the Ring gimmick though.

Hype Bros - Their theme is actually the reason I pray they don't make it on TV. Oh and also the gimmick.

Social Outcasts - This is another weird theme. You can barely hear the lyrics to the theme it's quite odd. It would fit a character like Slaters, but the other 3 it just doesn't work with. Although I do feel that Slater is the leader anyway.

FYI - I haven't included part timers and guys like Undertaker or Sting. Because you won't hear that on television all the time. Whereas the guys I've picked, you do and therefore know if it'll hype you up every raw or not. Also I prey they give Shinsuke Nakamura his subconscious theme. That's the best theme in pro wrestling right now.

Mod Note: Please remember that simply making a list does not meet our spam requirements. You must include reasoning for your list.

Seth Rollins, I think if it had an extra two second pause after the initial opening, then bam (Quick pyro) right into the guitar rip when Seth walks out ...that's perfect. They do a half second pause and it's not as good. I like the music though.

Who in the hell is Conor McGregor?

He's a mixed martial arts fighter in UFC. He comes from Dublin I believe. No idea what his theme is and how it relates to Sheamus, unless it's because they're from the same neck of the woods.

Not sure I can do 10, but:

1) Kevin Owens: Just an overall great tune
2) Finn Balor: Perfect for the facet interact.
3) Sasha Banks: LOVE the tune for her, and her entrance is always a highlight.
4) HHH: Anything by Motorhead is a good listen
5) Taker: This matters most when he has a long entrance, and I mean long by his standards
6) Orton: Fits with the character
7) Reigns: It works for him and is standard enough that when he has a long road to haul, it won't be an issue
8) Cena: It works for people to cheer, but equally for people to hate on him...

Cool topic. As a musician I am a music/concert addict so you're speaking my language. :)

1. Dean Ambrose Retaliation. Wicked theme to get you pumped, first thing in the morning.

2. Becky Lynch Celtic Invasion. I'm a huge fan of punk rock music (or the stuff you'd hear in a Tony Hawk Game) and with the smoke show -pun intended ;) - appearing at the stage of her entrance, it's just gnarly

3. Alex Riley Say It To My Face. If we're allowed to add NXT guys then I would fully throw this in. Technically he was a WwE guy.

4.Smack Down Black & Blue. Does it count if I include the theme of a WWE show? Aside from Mauro and the Heel King this tune always makes me wanna tune in to Smack down. When the show starts and the arena is pumping the pyros it looks pretty damn cool. I hope it's their theme for a few more years.

5. Kevin Owens Fight Owens Fight. Something about this track makes me wanna cruise around.

6. Sami Zayn Worlds Apart. See my reasoning for Becky Lynch. This is a more ska feel to it. I hope he still has this tune when the time comes for a Heavyweight Title run, or IC. I can see him holding the belt with the crowd celebrating with this tune playing.

7. AJ Styles Phenominal. I agree with the OP. It's a top current favourite for me to. Ever since Royal Rumble I couldn't stop bumping it.

8. Luke Harper Swamp Gas. I like the heavy blues feel. I'm not sure if he still uses it. I noticed he's recently back to coming out to the Wyatt Theme but that's usually when he's teaming with Strowman or Rowan.

9. Seth Rollins Second Coming. Another great tune. In the glory days you didn't have much fast drumming and and heavy guitars. Well maybe heavy guitars but not fast drumming. There was one RAW were New Day teamed with Rollins and rocked out to his music. I LOL'd hard for that.

10. Paige Stars In The Night. It's sexy. Perhaps because of who comes out it, and has a great beat. :)

If I include part-timers and legends there might not be any full-timers on the list so I will just completely exclude them.

1. Sasha Banks - It's one of the few WWE themes I listen to on my iPod. Perfect for her character, and the fact that she sings it?! Best self-sung song since Sexy Boy

2. Bray Wyatt - I absolutely fell in love with the song when I first saw the Wyatt Family vignettes and was pleasantly surprised to see they kept it as his theme. Another song on my iTunes and another song that completely fits the character

3. John Cena - I hate just about everything there is to hate about this man and his gimmick. I also hate this song, but hate cannot blind me from seeing how catchy and popular this tune is. The song itself has become an internet phenomenon with those new vines that came out

4. Randy Orton - I was such a huge fan of "Burn In My Light" that I was completely disgusted when he randomly debuted this song on an episode of RAW in 2008. Absolutely fits the character he evolved into and it's definitely a solid iTunes song

5. Dean Ambrose - He's the only Shield-alum that got a theme song that I like (Roman retained the Shield theme so that's cheating) and the chords just scream "TOP FACE THEME"! I honestly think the pop wouldn't be as loud without that first beginning note (much like Daniel Bryan pointed out with his theme on RAW last night)

6 Sami Zayn (if NXT counts) or Dolph Ziggler - I like Sami's more, but if NXT doesn't count I'll go with Ziggler's, another good in-your-face tune that can get a crowd amped

7. Finn Balor (if NXT counts) or The Miz - I like Balor's more than Ziggler's (which would make my official full-time list 6. Zayn 7. Balor 8. Dolph 9. Miz) but if we're not doing NXT we're going with Miz. Another song that's on my iTunes, the song itself is awesome even if the wrestler who comes out absolutely sucks

8. Bayley (if NXT counts) or Kevin Owens - If NXT counts, Bayley rounds out my top 10 with that incredible upbeat anthem. If it doesn't count, I'll take Kevin Owens' generic instrumental simply because Owens himself makes the theme seem better than it is. Would definitely NOT put it on iTunes.

9. Big Show - This might seem ridiculous, but the old school guitar riff with the catchy lyrics make this song a solid tune that could honestly be played on the radio and no one would think it was a wrestling song. There aren't too many other songs in wrestling (that were made specifically for a wrestler) that can lay claim to that

10. Goldust - Among instrumental wrestling themes, this is a top 5 for me. Thinking off the top of my head I can only think of Steve Austin, Taker, Mick Foley, and MAYBEEEE Razor Ramon. Mr. Perfect and Ultimate Warrior are definitely up there but Goldust's theme is very unique and once again fits the character perfectly. Believe it or not this song is on my iTunes, but I barely listen to it

1. John Cena is my personal favorite. When you hear that song you automatically know who's coming to the ring...AND HIS NAME IS JOHN CENA!!!!
2. Chris Jericho classic theme. Loved every version of it
3. The Authority King of Kings is badassery
4. Kevin Owens I really dig this song. It sounds badass.
5. Apollo Crews He has the theme song of a champion. Fits the It factor vibe that he gives off IMO.
6. Sami Zayn incredibly fun, catchy, and fitting for Zayn as well. Perfect song for a lead babyface character because it sounds like it'd play at the end of a video game or something.
7. Brock Lesnar classic theme song. Loved it since I first heard it.
8. Booker T if he counts
9. Sasha Banks I always forget her theme until I hear it. Everyone else had it on their list so I listened. It is one of the best themes on the roster easily.
10. Can't think of another honestly.

Top 10:
1.Hellfire - Sheamus - I love this song; I have even set it as the default ringtone in my phone. It goes really well with his Great White/Celtic Warrior avatar, and is simply a very good composition.
2. Celtic Invasion - Becky Lynch - Probably the best theme song that a diva has ever had. The song, the look, the smoke, the character, everything just... perfect.
3. Catch Your Breath (remix) - Finn Balor - Very dramatic tune and that's why I love it. Generally wrestlers aren't given tunes like this, so it is both uncommon and amazing.
4. Next Big Thing (remix) - Brock Lesnar - As soon as you hear this, you know that some shit is about to go down.
5. Retaliation - Dean Ambrose - Vrooooooooooom.... Focus on the WWE logo (ala Seth Rollins' entrance) then Ambrose comes out with his signature walking style as the titantron shows him making weird faces. A very energetic theme song.
6. Broken out in Love - The Wyatt Family - This one is a classic by Mark Crozer. Everyone loves it.
7. Lucha! Lucha! - Lucha Dragons - I enjoy the beat of the Lucha! chants and how the two wrestlers and the audience react to it.
8. Rising Sun - Social Outcasts - Perfect theme for the Outcasts. I love it when the four losers come out running and dancing to it.
9. Recognition - Charlotte - For Charlotte, it's not surprising that her theme song has been adapted from her father too. They took Naitch's classic theme and made it modern by adding the guitar riff and speeding it up.
10. Fight - Kevin Owens - I like the opening part. For the first 10 seconds or so, it's really cool. But then it gets a bit chaotic for around 20 seconds or so, until it loops from the start again (like all CFO$ songs).

Bottom 5:

1. Swiss Made - Cesaro - The Ambulance siren is a vast improvement over the Police siren, but it's quite awful, nonetheless. "Miracle" wasn't much, but it was his best theme song IMO.
2. Welcome to the Queendom - Stephanie McMahon - The opening three lines are cool; the rest of the song is shit.
3. Amazing - Team B.A.D. - Unfortunately, the song isn't nearly as "Amazing" as the name suggests. Just the kinf of theme song one would expect for lower card divas..
4. You can look but you can't touch & Beautiful Life (both) - The Bella Twins - I can't stand these two and I can't stand their theme songs... I know what I can touch though- the power button on the remote.
5. Meat ("Feed Me More" version) - Ryback - I enjoyed the heel version of the song, but this one just wastes too much time with the whole "Feed me more" act at the top of the ramp.

I'm leaving nothing off the table. Be warned; if a performer has come out to a certain theme, I'm including it in here.

#10 Ride of the Valkyries - Daniel Bryan

This is in the back of the list because I'm pretty sure that this theme was given to Daniel Bryan as petty revenge for having the generic rock music they gave him after returning insulted as "generic rock music". So the WWE brass picked a random classical tune and made him work with that, which he did very well. Soon then made a rock remix to accentuate his immense popularity and I wasn't so miffed by it.

#9 Cult of Personality - CM Punk

I've always loved this song, I'm amazed that the WWE allowed CM Punk to use it. It's a great track, but it falls down to number 9 because I think it was more of an FU to HHH in that royalties had to be paid to Living Colour for every CM Punk appearance. It just doesn't seem genuine.

#8 Unnamed UWFi Theme - Super Vader

During Vader's epic feud with Nobuhiko Takada, Vader was known as "Super Vader" for legal reasons and would come out to the ring to an amazing theme that I play when I need to get pumped to knock out some pull-ups at the gym. Definitely worth checking out if you need some motivation.

#7 Natural Born Killaz - New Jack

Go ahead and crucify me, but New Jack is one of my favorite performers of all time. One of the most endearing things about him for me is that Natural Born Killaz would play, at times for the entirety of the actual match. New Jack would sometimes dance a jig in between spots.

#6 Voices - Randy Orton

An obvious pick, this was one of those rare earworms that you don't mind at all. Badass, psychotic, deranged and sadistic, all qualities of a man who wields this epic theme.

#5 American Dream - Dusty Rhodes

I love a good gospel song, and I'm an Atheist. I'm weird is what I'm saying. Something about the idea of Dusty Rhodes being serenaded to the ring by a choir of southern gospel singers gives me goose bumps. It's inspirational also, singing about how he's just a common man and so on.

#4 Death's March - The Undertaker

The theme that would shut the crowd up back in the day. It was like the intro to a rock concert, lighters would come on and the smoke would fill the path to the ring. Pro-wrestling has never seen pageantry as theatric as that of the Undertaker's entrance, this theme reminds one of such.

#3 Snake Bit - Jake the Snake

True story; I was suffering from some pretty extreme fatigue at one time. It hit me after a run where I was probably suffering from calorie deficiency. I could feel body parts of mine screaming for nutrients, but I could barely walk. I played this theme on my phone instead of calling 911, and it was like an adrenaline shot right to the heart. I don't know if this theme saved my life, but I feel like I can move mountains when I'm hearing it.

#2 Muta - The Great Muta

The only theme that could be more haunting to me than The Undertaker's. I'm a huge Muta mark, and his theme that involves the intro where someone says "Muta... Muta" always gives me the chills. I grew up terrified of him, but I respected him. I've never found a pro-wrestler to be more intimidating than The Great Muta.

#1 7th Theme - The Four Horsemen

The Four Horsemen went through a series of generic bad guy themes before hitting on this masterpiece. It's difficult to describe the emotions it invokes. It's almost like if mad max was set to a film noir theme. You're listening to a guitar wail out an amazing melody, it casts away any doubt that you're watching some of the greatest performers of all time make their way to the ring. As pro-wrestling themes go, this one meets all of my expectations for being the best. It's original, memorable and it speaks to the greatness of the men who used it. The greatest theme of all time, hands down.

Bottom 5 (because the cool kids are doing it):

#5 Holla - Kelly Kelly

This theme doesn't get you pumped for a wrestling match, it's like Kelly Kelly was being announced as a special guest star on Barney the Dinosaur. It's a happy foofy song where the lyrics sound like they're being sung in a kind of gibberish that citizens of Gibraltar wouldn't be able to decifer.

#4 The Kings - DX

DX was going through their last throes as the only relevant reason to keep Sean Waltman on the payroll, and they decided to pinch off a new theme. The WWF wanted to make a rap album, because why not. So, Run DMC blurts out some limericks to the beat of the DX theme and suddenly it's a viable rap song. You get the baseline at the beginning and then "DEGENERATION X!", kind of like how superheroes would just shout their own name back in the day. I really didn't like this one.

#3 Never Gonna Stop - Edge

First off; I fucking hate Rob Zombie. A friend of mine spent some time in jail with his guitarist, and told me that as it turns out Rob Zombie's own band fucking hates him too. He's a cocky little prick who's kind of good at art, but on to the theme.

I hate everything about this song. The beginning is bland and generic, the middle is telling people to scream if they want "it" which is a pretty fucking stupid request, and the end is just the song fizzling out.

#2 American Males - American Males

As the name implies, this is a song called American Males which is about American Males who are in a tag team called American Males. If you're still confused about the nationality and gender of the individuals in this team, you can just listen to this theme. You'll hear "American Males" repeated over and over again in your head long after, so maybe get some good brain bleach handy.

#1 This is a Test - Test

Oh god, this theme. "Test, Test, this is a Test". Oh, okay. That guy right there is a test, and his name is Test. How clever! The lyrics of this song sound like they were written by Raffi. Andrew Martin will be missed, but his theme will always be despised.

I have no idea what the name of any theme songs are so I'll just say it by the persons name:

Kevin Owens - gives off an ultimate heel vibe. Sounds badass.

Dean Ambrose - The starting car sound is great because it amps the crowd up and the rest isn't bad either.

HHH - Probably in my top three WWE songs, any variation actually (King Of Kings, The Game, DX)

VKM - It grasps the audience in the beginning and fits the heel Mr. McMahon character well.

Undetaker - The Gong, the smoke, the instruments. Perfect.

Finn Balor - It's a spectacle just like the Undertakers. The way the demon comes to the ring is epic.

Tyler Breeze - A rare song that actually talks the character up well. A watered down version of one of the best songs ever - HBKS "Sexy Boy"

AJ Styles - The starting is awesome and while the lyrics are way to repetitive, its his first theme. I imagine he'll have an even better song later.

Bayley - A cute song for the cutest diva on either roster. Fits her well.

Sasha Banks - The Boss has a boss entrance music that truly fits her character.

Kane & Mark Henry also have great songs.

Either one of the two songs Motorhead did for HHH is tops
Not much a fan of the Evolution theme.
I think "The Game" is the only song to be sung live at HHH 3 times at WrestleMania
I know Lemmy and boys did it at 17&21
I think Drowning Pool did it at 18.

And this is a rare thing that should be done,A posthumous induction to the HOF for Lemmy, have his kid or the other guys from Motorhead accept.

1) Chris Jericho - Break the Walls Down. I've always loved this, and the theatrics that come with it, video, pyro are amazing

2) Randy Orton - Voices. I don't know why but when I hear this song I jump off my couch ready to see Orton. (I'm not even a fan of his lol)

3)Miz- I Came To Play. Another song that gives me instant gratification when I hear it

4)Brock Lesnar -Here Comes The Pain. Eat.Sleep.Listen to this Song.Repeat

5) HHH - The Game. Well it's Motorhead and it's awesome

6) John Cena - My Time is Now. It's Cena . Love him or hate him, the song is catchy

7)Kane. I don't know the name of the song, but another song that is just fitting, complete with pyro. Kinda spooky.

8) Sheamus.

9) Paige. It's kind of sexy. Well so is she

10) Dean Ambrose. It just gets me pumped

I echo what others have said about Sasha Banks. It fits her, can be a strong theme for her when heel or face, and her entrances are top notch.

Chris Jericho - Same thing. It fits his character perfectly. Classic theme.

Stephanie McMahon - Again....it fits the character. Obnoxious and arrogant, and hearing it come on and interrupt someone is an instant heat magnet.

HHH - both themes. I like how they often use "Time to play the game" when he wrestles, and "Bow Down" when he's in suit and tie mode.

New Day - Catchy and again, it fits them and their goofy antics as they come to the ring perfectly.

Those are really the only ones that stand out to me. Obviously The Undertaker's when he is around.

Man this is right up my ally. Of course I love the wrestling but the music and entrance is what grabs my attention!!! I could make a list of 100 , but using just curry, here we go..

1) HHH.the Game, motorhead, buff said!!

2) Chris Jericho, Millennium Countdown- Break the walls down.... Loved it since I first heard it.

3) Zach Ryder, Radio... One of my personal favorites for a much underutilised wrestler. But love the song!!!!

4) Randy Orton, Voices.. Killer tune and awesome lyrics!!

5) Sasha Banks... Just love everything about her!!!

6) Dean Ambrose, Retaliation.... Pump it up!!!!

7) The Wyatt Family....LOVE the song. It fits their characters!

8) Roman Reigns.... Basically because its the shield and I loved it!

9) Stardust

10) Brock Lesnar.

Honorary mention.. John Cena, the miz

Dean Ambrose - It fits his character really well.

Bray Wyatt - Same as Ambrose.

Roman Reigns - When you hear it, it gets you pumped. You know something is about to happen.

Brock Lesnar - Same as Reigns on a bigger scale.

The Rock - Same as Lesnar except on an even bigger scale.

Seth Rollins - Casuals hate this guy's entrance music. My aunt said hearing this makes her vomit. He has THAT much heat.

Chris Jericho - Unlike a lot of these, it sounds original.

Neville - It fits his character.

Randy Orton - Again, it fits his character.

Undertaker - This legit gives me goosebumps. Entrance themes are meant to get you pumped and excited, and this one does like no other.
