It's a sad week to be a Yankee fan as long-time owner George Steinbrenner died of a major heart attack last night. He was 80 years old. This man did SOOO much for the Yankees throughout his many years with the franchise and should be appreciated for his contributions by all... not just Yankee fans.
Also, the "Voice of the Yankees", Bob Sheppard, lost his life on Sunday at (what is believed to be) 99 years old. Even though he retired in 2007, this man had the privilege of calling over 4500 major league games, seeing the team capture 22 American League pennants and 13 World Series championships.
Hopefully, even non-Yankee fans can remember these men in a positive light. They were staples in the greatest baseball franchise in the history of Major League Baseball.
Let's discuss the passing of these two legends here.
