Question for the guys with facial hair...

One of my co-workers just mentioned that her boyfriend shampoos/conditions his beard. I have a goatee, but the idea of shampooing it like I would my hair struck me as being incredibly weird. I had never heard of someone shampooing their beard/goatee/mustache hair before. Am I alone in thinking that? Is this actually a thing that guys do? All I could do was look at her with an incredulous look on my face, lol

Nope, the beard gets washed when I scrub the rest of the face. No shampoo required.

I use a shampoo only when my beard gets long, like half an inch. Then I'll shampoo it for a little bit once every three days.

FYI, my beard is style is Short Boxed Beard

When I grow my playoff beard, I tend to shampoo it every few days, and condition everyday. Keeps it soft, for the ladies.

When I have beard, I shampoo and condition it.
Not that it matters.

I do if I feel it's gotten dirty. Could be once a week, or once every few weeks. Though I don't use conditioner on it.

I keep it clean and tight, so there's really not much to shampoo or wash.

I would guess though if you have a thick beard, it'd be worth washing.

Oh yeah dude, gotta keep that stuff clean. Think of all the little bits of food and drink that come into contact with it. Not to mention, if you're like me, constantly rubbing your chin in an attempt to look deep and thoughtful.

When i shampoo my hair, i apply the remaining foam in my hands on my van dyke / french cut, nothing more.. it gets really itchy at times so hygine is a must.

Yeah, I shampoo my beard pretty much every time I take a shower when I grow it out a little. I haven't ever conditioned it, though, so that may be something I have to try out.
