PWG Battle of Los Angeles 2017

PWG has been announcing names for the best wrestling tournament in the US, Battle of Los Angeles. The three day event will take place from September 1 to September 3.

Last year was absolutely stacked, and this year looks to be great as well so far, especially as they still have over 2/3 of the field left to reveal.

The current field as of now is:

-Flamita
-Keith Lee
-WALTER
-Travis Banks
-Rey Fenix
-Dezmond Xavier
-Donovan Dijak

Already a lot of diversity as they have some international talent in Flamita, WALTER, Banks, and Fenix. WALTER vs Keith Lee is a hoss match that must occur.

-Flamita is one regarded as one of the best high-flyers today. He worked LU for a bit under the name of Nightclaw. His match with Jimmy Susumu at Dragon Gate's Dead or Alive show is really fun, and his match with Dragon Kid is pretty good too. Basically if he's paired up with Ricochet or Ospreay in the first round, it's gonna be awesome.

-Keith Lee has been making a name for himself throughout the indies, particularly EVOLVE and as of recent, PWG. He used to be in ROH teaming with Shane Taylor as the Pretty Boy Killers but as of recent, has had a pretty good singles run. He had a match with Donovan Dijak that Mick Foley was pretty high on, and his EVOLVE 87 match against Matt Riddle is very good. He's a big boy, but the big boy can fly.

-WALTER comes out of the German wXw promotion. He's essentially another big hoss like Keith Lee, minus the flying. I honestly don't know that much about him, he's the only one I had to look up as prior to this I've never heard of him. But there's this:

-Travis Banks comes from New Zealand, but he's been wrestling in the UK which is probably where he's best known from. He's done some stuff with IPW and RevPro, but his runs in WCPW and most recently, PROGRESS are probably what he's most known for. He won their most recent Super Strong Style Tournament, defeating Tyler Bate in the finals which is also a match I'd recommend checking out.

-Rey Fenix is Fenix. Probably LU's biggest success and one half of the current PWG tag-team champions, the Lucha Bros.

-Dezmond Xavier is basically doing a bunch of CZW shows, although he's recently been working with PWG as well. He also has a deal with Imapct Wrestling. His match with Shane Strickland and Lio Rush vs OI4K at Wrestlecircus is probably his most well-known match/

-Donovan Dijak is basically the best thing to come out of ROH's top prospect tournament. He had quite a few good matches last year in Beyond against Matt Riddle and Keith Lee and he's basically what WWE would want in a guy. He's big and well built, but he can also wrestle.

Absolute shame what AAA has been trying to do to guys like Fenix and name rights. I dont think the name change has had a negative impact on his exposure though. Honestly, without the full field being released, Fenix is my top guy so far.

I saw a random Keith Lee match on YouTube once. By no means was he great, but I think is a solid addition. With guys his size, I prefer them to just be a hoss in the ring and save the flippies for special moments. I think that is my gripe with him, I think in that match he did too much flying.

Not much knowledge on the other guys though.

Trav being in this is awesome, but I suspect its possible that there could be a couple of Kiwis in this if they bring in Jay White as well

Lee and Cobb were basically a given, considering how much work they've been doing with PWG. Flash Morgan Webster is a nice surprise
