Prayer Request

I know that not all of you are Christian, but whatever your religious beliefs may be, I have a prayer request. I truly believe there is power in prayer and I am going through rough times at the moment, so regardless of your beliefs please bear with me and listen, I would do the same for you.

My wife and I are struggling financially right now. I got put into a position at my job where I either could quit or get fired, and I ended up quitting today. I had been hunting for other jobs in the meantime for over a month now, so that I could quit by the time I found something else. I have been unable to find anything and unless I do we will not be able to afford our apartment anymore, let alone take care of the two puppies we just got a little over a week ago. There are family crises going on at both sides of the family. Her mom went nuts and is trying to leave her dad for a 25 year old that only wants one thing and after my wife tried to stand up to her to tell her she's making a huge mistake they got into a huge fight, so we cannot ask them for any help. My side of the family has treated me like crap my whole life and couldn't care less that we are struggling, yet claim to still "love" me. We have nowhere to turn to and her job would barely be able to pay the rent, we still have to be able to eat and pay for car insurance or vet visits for the dogs. I have tried to find jobs everywhere and have exhausted almost every option. I don't know what to do.

Please keep us in your prayers, I would really appreciate it as well as any advice anyone might have.

Sounds horrible man. I got made redundant at the start of summer but thought it would be easy to just find a new similar job and jump right in but sadly that hasn't been the case. I can only imagine how much tougher it is when you're trying to support a family and keep things together. Well actually, I honestly don't know if I can.

As far as advice goes, would anyone at your church be able to get you on the path to a new job? Maybe build a few contacts there to start with and see what comes from it.

One thing I've been doing is emailing companies asking to work for a couple of days unpaid to garner some experience and again make some contacts that way.

Thank you everybody, my wife and I both appreciate everyone's kindness and thoughts. Please keep praying for us. I am not going to give up until I find something, a job is a job at this point; and as for the family crises well there is only so much I can do there. It is in fate's hands now.

Oh, and if you have the ability to still get fired, do so ASAP. You can't get unemployment after you quit. I know it sucks being fired, but one termination isn't going to kill you and you need the money right now.

I'm sorry to hear that. The economy is rough right now; I've been trying to find something too for the last month. This is the reason why I'm soon getting certified as a welder, so that I can have a trade to fall back on just in case my college degree ever dries up.

Well, to update everyone on the situation(s)....

I had been applying all week and have two interviews. One monday and one tuesday. My apartment manager also told me about some opportunities she may have connections with. One of our dogs got really sick and almost died and we could not afford the vet visit, but my mother in law (despite the huge fight she and my wife had) helped pay for it.

Although I have the interviews, our dog got better, and my wife is on speaking terms with her mom again.... Things still aren't quite over yet. Everything is still a mess as far as the family crisis with Steph's mom is concerned.... It cost us many of our friendships because one of my former friends stabbed us in the back by trying to start a relationship with her mom, knowing that SHE'S STILL MARRIED, and then spreading lies about us to our other friends when we tried to stand up to him.... Granted I used to be friends with this guy, but he gave us his word that he would not do anything to break our trust. He did.

The job issue is the more important one though, we need to be able to eat and pay rent. My fingers are crossed that the interviews go well. They are with a sporting goods store and an electronics store, both of which may contain management training if I get them.

Please continue to pray for us.... It is much appreciated, my friends.

Similar stuff here man for my parents. Dad lost his job last year, Mam still has hers, but she has to put my sister through college so we're on the bare minimum every week, not a euro to spare..can't pay dept at all...screwed really..
