Believes in The Shield!
Ok, keeping past experience behind... I figured that I would start a topic that needs to be done. Politics in Professional Wrestling suck, and here's why.
Over the past decade, we have seen countless of people become 10 time World Champions... why is that? Why must someone become a multi-time world champion to prove they're the best?
In my opinion, once you've won the World title the first time, you've got nothing left to prove. Sure, it's not exactly bad to have another title run or two, but to go crazy with 8-13 title reigns is ******ed. Have promotions begun to stop trying and just gave up in making new talent?
In WWE alone, there's over 100 wrestlers. I am quite sure that in the last decade, more than half of those wrestlers would've made a great WHC for at least 3 months.
More so, where has the longevity of being a champion gone? I admit it WWE, TNA, and ROH have done it great with their world titles, but for WWE's self-named title... the belt has switched hands four times since September amongst Sheamus, Orton, and Cena. Why? What ever happened to having a champion that was dominant. A champion that could hold a title for YEARS before getting defeated. The last champion to hold his belt for a year was John Cena. And even though I hate that he's spawned a league of wanna be thugs... he managed to keep the fanbase growing while he was champion. On Smackdown, Edge and Taker have been holding the belt for the past two years, with Batista and others getting short reigns here and there.
Lastly, whatever happened to wrestling attire? Nowadays we see people like Luke Gallows, John Cena, Cryme Tyme, R-Truth, Jeff Hardy, and more so come out in street clothes. Whatever happened to the old fashion tights, knee pads, boots, and wrist tape. For heels, why are they all of a sudden wearing bright colors? Where did the black tights go? And why are the faces wearing said black tights? Not sure if that's politics doing, but still...
Anyway, I guess that was more of a vent, but I can't be the only one that hates how wrestling has become when it comes to the world titles. I mean seriously, winning it once already proves you're one of the best.
