Pick your Poison- Melo or Wade?

Khalifa

Where it at doe?
Yes this is my version of the pick your Poison, in the sports section ( to get it started you know). Anyways it is between to guys from arguably one of the best drafts ever, the 2003 draft, which also featured James, Bosh etc etc.

Melo had a great college career, so good that he decided that he was ready enough for the NBA after just one year.
Melo was picked up at #3 by the nuggets, and had a good rookie season. He was the second youngest player to score 30 points in a certain amount of games and won 6 rookie of the month awards for a conference, becoming only the 4th player in history of the NBA to do so. He came second in the voting of ROY behind Lebron James. What made his Rookie season remarkable is that he he turned his 17-65 wins nugget team into a 43-39 playoff team apon his arrival.

So Anthony took the NBA by storm, racking up points and wins for his team, until the incident at MSG were he slapped a player ran off then ran off and was suspended for 15 matches for it. He then got his career back on track with coming in the top 4 of scoring along with teammate Allen Iverson, both averaging 27 and 28 respectivly, then last year took his team ( along with Billups) too the conference finals. They were never expected to make it in my eyes at the start of the season seeing as everyone was sure it would be Spurs and Lakers, or Hornets and Lakers, or Rockets and Lakers. But with trading Iverson, Billups brought leadership and it seemed Melo understood what he had to do and became more of a leader himself. This season he has second in scoring and is helping his nuggets team hold a tough 3rd spot in the tough Western Conference.

Wade played for Marquette Univeristy for two years and helped them get the best record in 8 years before making it into the NBA. He is also one of only 4 people to be drafted in the first round.

Wade was drafted 5th overall by the Miami Heat, quickly taking a huge role in there along side teammate Lamar Odom. He helped carry the heat into the second round of his rookie season against the Pacers, he also came 3rd in ROY voting. So a season passes and nothing big happens, they did pick up Shaq probably the most dominant big man in the game at the time, but you know no big deal really. Well along with Shaq, Flash and Deisal took the Heat into the Conference Finals pushing the Detroit Pistons to 7 games. Wade dominated for the heat averaging 27 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal and 1 block a game. So the next season roles on and the heat pick up more good role players in Williams, Posey, Payton and Walker. This time that team took them to the NBA finals, taking on the leading NBA team Mavericks. After losing the first 2 losses, Wade decided to take it to himself and lift this team, winning the next 4 games and taking home a ring with a finals MVP award.

The next 2 seasons were riddled with injurys for Wade not playing up to the level he hoped for, so in the summer of 2008 he decided he was going to do even more rehab on his knee to strengthen himself for the next NBA. By this time they had los Shaq, and there second best player was a rookie. Tough season you would think huh? WEll obviously not because Wade took them 5th (? or was it 4th? ) in the east with what should of been an MVP award ( yes Wade deserved it) with stelling numbers such as 30 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals and 1 block a game. But unfourtanetly the Heat were unable to make it out of the first round.

So anyways if you were the Nuggets who would you of picked? Wade or Melo?
