Nome is where your heart is
Phillipe Nover was a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter Mir/Nogueira. While on the show he looked very dominate against his opponents, made it to the finals and was even called by Dana White as the next George St-Pierre and a future champion. However, he lost his fight against Efrain Escudero in the finals of TUF Nog/Mir and has gone onto lose his next 2 fights in the UFC as well. He has gone 0-3 in the UFC and is more then likely going to be cut in the days to come.

My question is this, what the hell happened to him? Do you guys think he was just really over hyped or is his problem with fainting and seizures what is holding him down. How do you think his career will play out and where does he go from now?

For me I view it like this, the best thing for him is to get cut by the UFC so he can reevaluate his fighting career. If he chooses to continue fighting I think he needs to sign a deal WEC where he can fight good fighters who are, in theory, not as tough as the UFC guys. If he pick some wins up there and build up his confidence then maybe he can ink another deal with UFC or maybe even a better choice for him Strikeforce. However, before anything else I think he needs to get checked out to see if he can still fight and be safe doing so.

Thoughts?

Honestly man, I think TUF 8 with Mir and Big Nog as coaches just had the weakest fighters in the history of the show.

Seriously, that show was all about that douchebag Junie Browney. You know why that was? Because there were really no good fighters there outside of Nover and Efrain Escudero. Look at everyone else on that show in the Lightweight Division since then: Where are they now? That's impossible to answer, because nobody knows. They all fucking sucked for the most part (Shane Nelson was alright, though, I should add), and now the UFC wants nothing to do with them.

So, yeah... Nover seems a like a real good dude and everything, but the fact of the matter is that he beat a bunch of bums on the Ultimate Fighter, and that's why he was getting so much hype once the show was over. Nobody at that time knew just how shit his opponents were.

Theres the world of pros and the world of amatuers and he forgot which he belonged in. Not to be too critical on him, but he never stood a chance. I agree with what JMT said, that season ha arguably the weakest cast. When Krystoff Soszynski was one of the better fighters of the show, theres a problem. There were some exceptions though, Ryan Bader has showed good promise, and even though Escudero lost to Dunham, he never looked like a slouch doing it.

So i think Dana and the rest of the guys at Zuffa say something in him. That would account for the editing of the show, making him look like something more than he really is. Not their fault, I thought the dude would do better than he has but currently he's 0-3 in the octagon and will probably be cut.

Sidenot, Rollie Delgado being knocked out by Andre Winner at 105 was awesome. Something about the dude just bugged the fuck out of me. Not that i wish harm on anyone but yeah....great knockout.
