Paul Bearer Has Passed Away (For Realsies)

WWE's statement:

WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of William Moody, aka Paul Bearer. Moody made his WWE debut in 1991 as the manager of The Undertaker and went on to become a memorable part of WWE over the course of the next 20 years.

Our deepest condolences go out to Moody’s family, friends and fans.

This is really sad. I became a big fan of Moody growing up watching Kane and Undertaker, and I marked out hard when he returned in 2010. I was also disappointed when he ended up not participating years ago when Chris Cash brought all of those wrestling personalities to the site.

RIP

Bearer was a very good manager. I was born in 1990, so I didn't get to experience much of the Jimmy Hart's or Bobby Heenan's but Bearer was great.

I will always remember when he came out on Raw to talk about Kane, and a female fan jumped the barrier and tackled him. He was so good and really immersed himself in the character. He shall be missed.

Fuck that sucks. Paul Bearer was a staple of my childhood and a great manager whether he was Percy Pringle III or Paul Bearer.

Rest In Peace, you will truly be missed.

His body of work stretched before Paul Bearer but I get his connection and wanting to go in with Taker.

For God's sake now, don't make Punk reference this to get cheap "ooooh I can't believe he said that!".

:sad::sad::sad:

It's too bad new fans today will know how important a good manager is. Just at what he did for Undertaker and Kane. Wouldn't have worked without him.

I like the idea I saw elsewhere, Undertaker beats Punk and then takes the Urn and goes down to one knee. It ends with him sitting the Urn down with a moment of silence for Bearer.

Horrible news, RIP to one of the best managers the business has ever seen

I really hope that when Undertaker wins at Mania, he points upwards when down on 1 knee as a sign of respect to Paul, and as Moon Knight suggested sets the urn down in his memory.

I think that would be a really good moment for a Bearer, a sure-fire Hall of Famer

Agreeing with those who say Taker should dedicate his Mania match to Paul Bearer, it would be a fitting tribute. I know he wasn't the healthiest of folk but he was only 59. RIP

I got a text from Tastycles at 7:30am telling me. I was gutted, still am. Huge loss to the wrestling world. Nice guy too, had a couple of Twitter conversations with him.

Fucking sucks.

I've only just started watching Undertaker's early stuff and Paul Bearer was great. It sucks that this happened.

Very sad. One of my all time favorites. One of the biggest mark out moments of my adult life was hearing his voice at Wrestlemania 20.

Also, one helluva contributor to our Forums. Easily the best special guest we ever had.
