Uh, have you not been paying any attention? It isn't just the tattoo 5. Its the 28 other players that were found to have cars they absolutely could not afford. Its the fact that the Ohio State Athletic Department had found Jim Tressell lacking in compliance numerous times before. Tattoogate was just the tip of the iceberg.
The Ohio motor vehicles thing wouldn't prove anything. Do you seriously think that if a car dealer were giving special deals to OSU players, that he wouldn't turn in falsified paperwork, so that it looked legit? Seriously, how naive can you be? From the DMV's perspective, of course it looks legit. Everyone knows that crooked businessmen keep two accounting ledgers, one for the public, official records, and then a second one that contains the REAL numbers. No car dealer in the world is going to turn in paperwork to the DMV showing that the players got the cars for significantly less than anyone else would, obviously they would doctor them to make them look real.
OSU put all the blame on Tressell because he was a loyal scapegoat. If he acts as the sacrificial lamb, it makes the program look less bad. DUH.
Ohio State played THIRTEEN games last year with ineligible players, then they blatantly lied about it to the NCAA.
if you were any deeper in denial, you would drown.
