Occasional Pre-Show
Why does everyone hate on hosses? There are different styles to wrestling. Some are brawlers, Some are high-flyers, Some are technical, and the list goes on. Why is it that anyone who isn't technical, luche, or strong-style gets hated on by the internet community? Personally, I think hosses have a very important place in wrestling. What do you think?

this myt sound dumb, but what the hell is hosses?

I know why i would hate anyone who isn't either technical or luche, because they probably can't put on a entertaining match. Alot of fans love technical or luche libre style wrestling for the action and high spots.

A hoss is basically a big guy. Generally thought of as immobile. Like Big Boss Man. But Bam Bam could be considered a hoss cuz of his size. I just think that guys like Mark Henry serve a purpose. They aren't there to put on 5-star matches. They're there to have guys like Mysterio beat the odds, to make little kids cringe, and to add the larger-than-life element to sports ENTERTAINMENT. Like it or not, that's what it is. I just don't think guys of that size (except samoa joe, or the late mike awesome) should be doing planchas. They should do bear-hugs, big boots, and clotheslines.

The problem with what u just said is that people like Mark Henry don't do big boots and closelines a lot and even if they did it would become more boring then a Cena match. And yeah they serve the purpose of putting smaller guys over, but how many times do we need to see a 200 lbs high flyer beat a 500 lbs fat peice of crap it get him over. I'd much rather see people like Rey take on people like Edge, that would be far more entertaining then either watching them get squashed or 'overcome the odds'

You gotta remember the larger-than-life spectacle of wrestling. Its entertainment, not to mention big business. Now I am by no means saying totally sacrifice the art. My favorites are Low-Ki and Homicide, but you need those big guys to serve thier purpose. Think about it in terms of basketball...Shaq isn't supposed to shoot threes or drive the lane, he's supposed to get as close to the basket as possible, and dunk the shit outta the ball every time. His talents are just different from LeBron's. Besides, the lethargic Hogan put on a helluva match with the Rock based on the spectacle. Hogan moves like a hoss if there ever was one. Guys like Tomko, or Umaga make it intimidating.

Big guys have had their uses and now a days they tend to be a lot more mobile. Gone are the days to an extent of the big man who couldn t move..remembers the days of Akeem yokozona and The Giants(pick one all kinda boring lol) and shudders.
