Sigur Ros released a new music video to show off the new direction and style they've been working on. They are writing new material for the studio, but the album is a long way off. The only way to hear more new stuff by the end of this year is to see them on their 2013 tour.

This is a lot darker than I think they've ever been. The music video is just creepy. Like they watched a bunch of ICP before making it. Still Sigur Ros though, and still gorgeous and beautifully composed. Hopelandic at its best.

A bunch of my mates saw them in Glasgow a couple weekends ago and they played a bunch of new material there. Whether they were the finished articles or not is another matter. I do hope the rest of the album will be carrying on this heavier route as they can generate a big sound with relative ease, so if it turns out to be full of songs that inspire nightmares I'll probably still give it a whirl.

Pretty fucking epic video, Jonsi singing to the camera reminds me of the Rammstein singer more than ICP filth.

I really enjoyed Valtari and thought it had a bit of a different sound than their older material. Looking forward to their upcoming work. Going off that video, they have something good going. Regardless, it's Sigur Rós so it's hard to complain.
