New Hulk TV Series!

Many sources are reporting that ABC are making a new Incredible Hulk TV series... I am quite excited as I always loved the old show...

How do they pull this off though... I really see this as being a 24 style show with each season being one day leading up to a Hulkout... Put Thunderbolt as the main character with Rick Jones as the Jack Bauer character, hunting his friend... Betty is kind of like the Chloe role, working for both sides...

Each story could see Banner stumbling onto some major threat that needs the Hulk to sort it out...

Casting... one name... David Tennant was born to play Banner...

This sounds great! I really don't watch ABC shows anymore. Lost was the only show I would regularly watch on that network, but I'm definitely going to check this out when it premiers. I still watch the reruns of the old Hulk show sometimes, and The Hulk is one my favorite comic book characters. I'm sure the production values for the show will be top notch, and I hope the writing won't be bad. The ratings for this will be high, because I'm sure a lot of people are going to watch this show. And I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a special guest appearance from Lou Ferrigno.

I was never really interested much in the Hulk unless he was a part of a team but I wouldn't mind watching this show. If and when it does start they should have cameos from other marvel superheroes from time to time. That should help build interest.

I really like this idea...if it's well done. I don't think doing it "David Banner" of the late 70's, early 80's can work. I don't think each episode can be something completely different, not involving a lot of the heroes/villains from the Marvel universe. I don't think he can just walk town-to-town, solving problems. There need to be big time storylines that go througout an entire season (Smallville-style). Either way, this should be a major hit, in terms of ratings.

This is good news, if done well. The Hulk has always been my favorite comic book character and the old show was one of my favorites. I mark out everytime I catch it on tv these days. I hope they don't screw this up royally, which could probably be done very easily. I agree that there needs to be storylines that intertwine throughout episodes during an entire season. If they can pull that off, it will hopefully be a success.

This looks like it could be an interesting idea. Personally I love the campness and utter cheese that is the Incredible Hulk with Lou Ferrigno but I could absolutely live with a dead serious drama about Bruce Banner and co. As a comic book fan in general this could be great news, especially with sales in the market falling. This gives Marvel some free advertising and also has the possibility and potential to be a great show.

This sounds pretty damn interesting!

It makes you wonder how they'll pull it off. I mean, we pretty much know the Hulk will be CG, but i mean as far as storyline goes. I think the Smallville concept would be a good way to go, but i also think that you HAVE to keep in mind that the Avengers movis is coming down the pipe in the next couple of years. I think it might be of good use to have this series be the setup for the Avengers' storyline. Maybe show Hulk gradually growing distant from the Bruce Banner alter-ego, until he snaps and completely loses control... maybe even have a guest appearance by Coulson or a voice transmission from Samuel L's Nick Fury. Marvel could basically use ABC to give tremendous promotion to the Avengers just by having ABC assure that this Hulk and the Avengers movie Hulk wil be in the same universe... use it as the jumping point to something epic.

It would be even more epic if they use Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner on the show. It would keep consistency between the TV and movie franchises, and would probably help as a whole.
