NBA Offseason

Cavs score Dwayne Wade. At least when you look on paper now Goldenstate aren't clear favorites. I think it'll be a fun year unlike last season but we will see.

I know you could say it about anyone but if someone from Warriors goes down it's over. Steph is due an ankle injury soon isn't he? Twolves, Rockets, Thunder and Spurs could all beat the Cavs in a 7 games series (unlikely though) so I'm looking forward a lot more to this season than last.

His fate is sealed, he shall never be an effective NBA player again. He can join Kris Humphries and Lamar Odom on the ranch for basketball players that had their talent stolen by a Kardashian vagina.

Blake Griffin has been seen with Kendall Jenner.

I dunno if that still counts with the curse since she isn't technically a Kardashian by name but it's worth keeping an eye on.

I disagree with Golden State not being the clear favorite. They are. Unless OKC and the Cavs completely revamp the way they play, GS beats any of these in five or six (being kind).

Melo is at least upbeat about his move to the 4. I’ve always thought that he had a solid post game for a natural 3, so maybe it won’t all be bad. Well until he ends up backing down a Marc Gasol or Anthony Davis and gets murdered.

Smart of him to take the big payday in LA, just in case Kendall's vagina also steals talent.

Stretch 4 is all the rage these days. Keep him on the wings and let him cut to the hoop when he can, otherwise let him run the pick and pop and hit jumpers.

Can we please, please, PLEASE not talk about Kardashians in this thread? I'd rather discuss how Magic Johnson contracted HIV than hear any more about anyone related to that media ****e family.

Can we just talk in code? From now on, any Kardashian/Jenner dating a basketball player will be identified as Succubus (first initial of their first name (it's funny because their names all start with K)).

I thought a succubus was supposed to appear as a desirable woman though?

I don't see how you could be excited about this season. I mean, I'm excited to see what the Western Conference does, but the Leastern Conference is just outrageously bad. I mean, come on. Barring injury, the Cavs are so far the favorites in the east that it's pitiful. Hell, I think that as long as LeBron doesn't go down that they're still the overwhelming favorites in the east. The West is going to be something to behold. Probably going to have to be 50-32 just to make the playoffs. Even with the new competition in the West, though, the Warriors are still clearly the favorites.

So, I suspect it will be Cavs/Warriors 4 and the only real question that needs to be answered this year is; did the Cavs do enough to realistically compete with the Warriors?

I think the Celtics will put up a much better fight with the Cavs this year. Even Washington has a chance in that conference. Regardless though, the West is to the East as Kim is to Rob. Right Sly?

Do you want to talk about the Kardashians or not?
No. And that answer shall likely remain true until the end of time.

Reports are coming out that the entire Hawks organization hated Dwight Howard last season and couldn’t be happier that he is in Charlotte now. When was the last time someone had a fall from grace like Howard?

I've kinda been thinking, with all the centers that the Knicks have now after getting Kanter, they have to move someone right? Noah seems like the best bet, but that contract is just the worst. O'Quinn has a little potential to be an okay big man, but he kind of plays an outdated games in today's NBA.

Cavs are clear favourites you are right but now Boston has Irving and Hayward trying to take down the Cavs instead of IT and Crowder which is a hell of a lot better. As Prophet pointed out, Cavs guards are really injury prone and Love isn't the most durable guy either. Lebron is getting older as well. It's the best chance anyone has had of stopping Lebron since he went to the Heat if you ask me (or since the last celtic big 3). Washington are a year older/better like GSB said. Gotta love some Wall and Beal action with Otto locking someone down. It'll be fun to see how far Giannis takes the Bucks as well. They won't beat Lebron but he could make some serious noise as the guy from the eastern conference.

It’s a toss up between Cleveland and Boston for me because the thing Boston has last year was IT balling out and depth. This year they don’t have as much depth but added more top end stars. Cleveland feels like they are loading up on aging vets to add depth they didn’t have last year. Washington is the clear 3 and the Bucks should take the 4, but those final four spots are anyone’s for the taking. You have teams like Charlotte who could grab a five seed, or end up 10th, that is how little there is seperating the rest of the East.

Unless you are Chicago who have almost nothing right now, I think the playoffs in the East aren’t out of the question, but I doubt the top four seeds differ from what I guessed and I still think GS are the favorites.

I hope my fall from grace includes earning another $40 million dollars over the next two years and a spot in the Hall of Fame.

Talk about rock bottom.

I see your point, but Yaz isn't off base either. Howard went from one of the elite players in the league to a journeyman center that nobody wants to put up with for long. A decade ago he was almost unarguably the best center in the league, and now he's not even in the top 10. Shit, on some lists he probably doesn't even crack the top 15.

He's aging in a league that has rapidly redefined his position in a way he can't possibly play it, he hasn't found a long term home since leaving Orlando (longest stint was 3 seasons with the Rockets), and his descent into mediocrity has been swift.

He's fallen from grace for sure, but because he has such a bright past, he's managed to make it a pretty lucrative fall.
