So this was my big weekend trip down to Orlando to check out TNA live for both Impact shows. Just off of the top, I won't spoil next Monday for anyone, but i will speak in vague generalities about the event.
I have to say that I was really impressed with the caliber of Monday's show. My friends and I made a ton of signs and stood right along the ramp coming in. We were the ones with the giant R-V-D signs and a number of other ones and the crowd was really hot the whole night.
The show has recieved what appears to be universal praise across the internet and let me tell you that it was even better in person. It really brought me back to the days of 'anything can happen' that were the hallmark of the original Monday Night Wars.
Anyways, I haven't marked out as hard as I did for RVD's title win in close to a decade. We had three lengthy matches to highlight the night and the Impact Zone went nuts for Samoa Joe's return. I really love great returns in wrestling and I'm already excited about Angle's eventual return.
A bit off topic: I love what TNA is doing with rotating top guys in and out of the scene. If you noticed, when Sting came back was about the time Joe left. When Angle left, Joe came back. It seems like they're rotating a top guy out for a month or two to give them some time to heal up and give the excitement of the return, something I've been advocating for a long time.
Sorry about the essay but I really enjoyed the weekend and if TNA can continue to tell stories like this then they're really going to be on to something. From Lockdown through the 2nd Impact Taping, I couldn't have had a better time or enjoyed the tapings more.
