Most Painful Move

Getting Noticed By Management
What move in wrestling do you think would be the most painful to take. Not in a kayfabe sense, but something that you would hate to have to do if you were a wrestler. A lot of submision moves look painful, but they really aren't. A move like the RKO is suposed to knock everyone out, but it wouldn't be any more uncomforatble than just falling on your stomach. Most of the splashes from big men don't really make contact. They fall on their hands and knees to look like they are squishing someone. To me there has always been one move I would hate to take.

Yokozuna's Banzai Drop
Every time I saw this move it made me sick to my stomach. I just can't figure out how they would be able to fake it or protect themselves. It was a man that ranged from 500 -700 pounds climbing the ropes and jump sitting on your chest. It makes me want to throw up just thinking about taking it. I don't see how he didn't break the sternum (chest bone) of every wrestler that took it. With that much weight and momentum, there is no way he could have slowed down his impact before he landed. Terrifying move!

I would go with your standard power bomb or power drop (Razor's Edge, whatever Sheamus calls it). It seems like there's more momentum going down than your standard suplex or body slam. IMO, they are also some of the meanest looking moves. In reality, the figure four can snap the knee joint in the opposite direction, but what are the odds of getting somebody in that position?

Ayup.

For the uninitiated, Takers Hell's Gate is a modification of a jujitsu hold called the gogloplata, which apparently can do a lot of damage if if applied correctly, crushing the windpipe, hence why its 'modified'.

However, I'm gonna have to go with the Ankle Lock, cause I've had my ankle go in some awkward angles, and believe me I cringe every time I see that move, because I know how much that hurts.

But he did slow his momentum, by holding on to the ropes the whole way down. It looked good, but obviously it didn't injure anyone, or atleast that we know of.

Personally I would say anything that has you hitting face-first. The pedigree for instance. There are very few guys that sell the pedigree right because their initial instinct is to brace themselves from hitting face first. Or the Skull-Crushing Finale, if Miz is able to hold the arms of his opponent all the way down, the guy smacks nose first on the mat. To me these types of moves might not always be painfull, but in order to sell the move properly and make it look real, you would have to accept a great deal of discomfort.

Razors Edge done properly driving into the mat, unlike Sheamus who releases it. That's a long way down for you to land on your head, at an angle, in a position where you're not really able to protect yourself.

Hmmm...a lot of things come to mind, and nearly all of them involve being dropped on your head, as with most variations of the piledriver. Outside of moves that appear that they would break your neck, Necrobutcher's double-chair backbreaker looks painful as fuck; yes, it involves an outside object, but he appears to have innovated that particular setup. And how about the good old enziguri or shining wizard? MMA has taught us the consequences of knees/shins straight to the skull, especially to a grounded opponent.

Crippler cross face.. My brother applied it on me once when I was young. Man dos that move hurt.

Lion tamer. Had this move applied to me once before as well. Again.. HURTS!

Any type of Powerbomb, that's for sure. Anything that involves high-impact falling to the mat. Such as a Chokeslam, Razor's Edge, blah blah blah.

Ankle Lock, Armbar (If applied correctly) can all do some damage too.

I'd honestly say the german suplex, tiger suplex, or dragon suplex. Flipped over backwards, onto your head, in a way the natural momentum can't roll you properly? No thank you.

I would have to go with The Burning Hammer!!! It is no wonder that none of the big Feds have ever allowed it w/any of their wrestlers' movesets. It is wildly popular in Japan and some Indy guys have used it over the years, including; John Zandig of FMW fame and the Owner of CZW, as well as the master of it, Kenta Kobashi. For those who don't know, it is an inverted DVD that I have often seen guys land on their head, almost perfectly erect w/their feet in the air.

Another notable mention would be El Generico's........BRAINBUSTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

I'm not sure if it counts but If I was a wrestler the one move i would hate is a Suplex on top of a ladder, no matter how many times you could practice landing on it it would always hurt.

If that don't count it would be any sort of powerbomb. the way most guys do it they have no chance to protect their back so even if the ring isn't as hard as the normal ground it would still hurt.

Doi - Muscluar bomb...not because it looks painful (it does,) but one teeeeny tiny little slip is impending paralyzation..or worse..

and to side with everyone else, Powerbomb. Not just any powerbomb. Vader + jobber Powerbomb.

I think that any high flying move is very difficult to take for a wrestler. Especially a splash when the wrestler is lying on the floor. You can protect your opponent in many ways when you are doing some suplex or pedigree or any move of that sort. The wrestler executing those moves is under total control. But when you are performing a high flying move, you cannot fake gravity. Imagine 200 pounds of weight falling on your body when you are lying. That will be quite hard to take.

The Scorpion Death Drop. Sting would always pull their hair back first, and then drop them on the back of their head. Definitely not a pleasant experience for the victim.

Are we talking kayfabe or not here. In kayfabe terms I would think that it would have to be any sort of Piledriver/DDT, being dropped straight down on your head would caue serious concussions or even death if done wrong.

From a non kayfabe standpoint I would say and top rope move, as rettlesnake said you cant fake gravity. If you have a 200-250 pound man jumping off the top rope and hitting you, sometimes with added momentum like in a 450 splash, it's going to hurt irrespective of how much you attempt to protect yourself.

Also just about any submission move if applied right, STF, Hells Gate, Armbar, Walls Of Jericho, Armbar, LaBelle Lock, Armbar, Sharpshooter, Armbar (little Jericho joke there) they are going to hurt you, there is no way of faking submission holds.

ill go for something different as i truely believe this move looks and is extremely sore on impact. Bobby lashleys original finisher, the dominator lik move that adopted the name dominator heres the link to a clip of it on some idiot! Jason something or other!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjWaWEb-k7s&feature=related

you know the move must be extremely sore for wrestlers when the guy had to stop doing it on them and change to the other stye of dominator as a finisher!

Any type of submission hold is going to be the most painful. Sharpshooter, Crossface, Armbar, etc. Outside of submissions, I would have to say the most realistic looking finisher would be Sweet Chin Music or Orton's Punt.

He's talking things wrestlers take that are painful even when faked, if he meant kayfabe everyone's answer should be the Samoan Spike

Probably have to go with taking the Starship Pain, Morrison doesn't always land it cleanly and I've seen him slam his legs into a guy's stomach a number of times
