Monday Night RAW-Where mid-carders go to die..

I watch both RAW and Smackdown! every week. I notice one thing about the 2 shows. Smackdown! is exciting and is based on the performance of matches ( it reminds me of what the WWF used to be in the New Generation Era). The mid-card matches and players seem to matter on the Smackdown! programming, and always got time-worthy spots to shine and show what they can bring to the table.

RAW is a boring, skit-based program thats redundent and repetative. Its always about the same old main-eventers (HHH, Orton, Cena, etc.). Ever since the draft, the mid-card guys who flourished on Smackdown! seemed to have fizzled out big time since entering RAW. The matches are usually short and choreographed to the point where the wrestlers look like they are second guessing themselves on what to do next.

MVP was the US champ and had a major spot every week on Friday Night. He comes to RAW, gets bad pops, loses the belt to Kofi and he's basically thrown in the back.
I used to take Matt Hardy seriously on Friday nights when he would be a main heel and wrestled a good match that had backs and forths.
Brian Kendrick..What the hell happened? He's a great seller and he's athletic but now on RAW he watches the monitors in the back.

Even the guys that they had like Kingston and Regal don't have any build up or steam. The vignettes they used to do on the Superstars in the 90s were great and gave attention and spotlight to guys like Razor, the Million Dollar Man, HBK, etc...Now its all forgotton with boring guys like Josh Mathews with a lisp giving unexciting interviews.

This is just my opinion, does anyone else agree?

don't bash Matthews! haha, but in all seriousness, I also miss the attitude era. when every week, jobbers were exciting. Because you knew that they were going to win the hardcore title. Tag Teams were stealing the show week-in, and week-out. Guys like Kurt, Rock, Steve, Trips, Jericho, and Undertaker were making the main event, the most mouth watering thing in wrestling.

the thing about Raw, is they have the biggest names. (Cena, Orton, Triple H) that's about all they have for main event wrestlers. While smackdown has several, (Hardy, Punk, Edge, Jericho, Mysterio, Undertaker) Smackdown has a solid mid-card, that gets a lot of spotlight. While Raw has a great mid-card, but it gets 0 recognition. Every match is regal vs. Hardy vs. Kingston for the US title. It's stale

I hope within the next couple months or so, they will at least try with the Raw mid-card. Because most of the guys are setup to be the WWE's future, and I hope to see them in that position.

I think tha the only reason is because smackdown has less important names then raw does in the main even. Less face it mysterio and jeff are merchandice sellers and used to lure in a shtload of bucks from pre pubecent boys. Yea they do have some great spots but completly geared towards kids and families. Edge is paid attention to but not to the level of others in the company but on smackdown hes gold. This leaves jericho and kane (out injured when he comes back main event jobber) that both have solid resumes but are lower in the totem pole then any raw main eventer. Now on raw they have hhh (son in law of the owner, unfairly treated), the golden boy (cena), the man that vince wants to so despertly get in his pants (orton), roid head (batista), and fat piece of shit (show). Cena and HHH (some extent bt would be nice to see him away from all titles) are the only two that deserve pushes and the others for som reason staay atop do to vinces dilusions of grander. MVP messed up his push because hes no face, they tried that dumb balling thing but personally hes a bigger joke as a face then kofis current gimic. Kendrick has this wild guy gimic that wwe never knew what to do with him unless he has a partner an they couldnt find one on raw, theyused him to put over goldust and hornswaggle, YIKES. Regal just for the reason that hes boring wont make it past the us title. Hardy was injured so was limited and now injured again so out of race. Kofi is the whole mid card but could be main event if hes given a serious gimic since hes a good face. Raw just has guys that arent ready in the mid card so squashed, and oh yeh miz is transcending the midcard so he can't quite be concidered a pure md carder anymore.

First off, angles are HUGE to wrestling. If you don't believe me, look at 1996-97. Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels could wrestle circles around Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall. But who was raking in the cash at the time. nWo was selling merchandise and TV time. Bret was in his twilight (his best days were in WWF) and Shawn would soon take a 3.5 year hiatus. Hogan was selling all over the media and wrestling in sold-out (or at least sold significant majority of the seats) in the 80's while Flair was putting on classics but not drawing nearly the money Hogan was.

Secondly, mid-carders don't seem to have the brightest futures on RAW with the possible exception of Miz. SmackDown on the other hand has stories. Punk's "do-what-I-have-to" story where fans will determine if he is face or heel. Jericho's arrogance vs. Mysterio's heritage (okay let us all forget that he lost his mask in WCW). Jeff Hardy can't catch a break in the title chase. Yes, guys who have been in World title matches at WM are competing for the IC title. Yet you have Hardy (who gets screwed everytime he turns around) vs. Punk will take Edge's route but refuses to trash fans.

There is more room for growth in SmackDown. While the action seems to be better on SD, there still has to be a story/angle. RAW has just become uninteresting to me.

smackdwn is def the place for mid careders. look at ziggler, benjamin, morrison, khali even hass is geting a lot of t.v. time

they need to even out the main eventers on each show. mvp, kendrick, matt hardy and regal all deserve a better push but what sux is when batista and hbk come back those guys will get no t.v. time

I think it’s already been mentioned why Mid Carders die on RAW. There's someone/thing holding them back. The time that could be used to properly build these stars up, and give them air time, that time is being wasted on potty comedy skits, old feuds that need to die fast, and the entire women’s division. Maybe if they would cut the 15 minutes of the prior week’s replays out of the show, they could use the time for matches.

RAW has become so dull lately that I just go to bed at 9 instead of watching the same old shit shown on RAW every week. The same old fueds, the same old people. The mid-carders aren't getting shit for show time. Hell they have the same old mid-card match every week. They waste time on RAW that could be mid-card time, for showing the same old divas match that we've all seen 500 times so we always know who's gonna win! RAW has ******s like Santino Marella who's mic skills suck and he sure as hell ain't shit in the ring. They use that blithering idiot instead of using mid-carders that deserve waaay more airtime then that loser.

What they ought to do is make RAW the Main Eventer brand and make SD! the Mid-Card brand and ECW should be changed to DCW, Divas Championship Wrestling. Maybe then the guys who deserve airtime will finally GET airtime!!!!

I believe that raw misuses their midcard wrestlers. A while back, the midcard wrestlers were some of the best athelets to wrestle, but now they are not taken as serious as they should. Now, it seems as if the only title that is considered important is the Heavy Weight Title .or WWE Title.
