Military Parade; Good or Bad Idea?

That's right ladies and gents. Trump has ordered the Pentagon to begin planning a military parade, and I quote, "Like the one they had in France.". My only question is why? I understand that Tump is all about the military and that to him bigger is better. I understand that he thinks might makes right, but what is the reason for this parade? For perspective, our last military parade was in 1991 in Washington DC after the end of the Gulf War.

We haven't won anything significant over seas or finished a war or anything, so why have it? Is it to show our might and power to other countries? Is it to honor the military? Is it to call anyone who objects unpatriotic and un-American? Or is it simply because Trump seen the one that happened in France while he was there and thought to himself, "We should, ya know, and I've said this many times, have a military parade also, but bigger.".

I can't, for the life of me, understand this president. I've tried, I really have. I would tell my family and friends after he was elected to give him a chance, you never know. Having said that, he's done more to separate our nation in his first year as president then any president has with two terms. He lies, he cheats, he continually puts people down on Twitter and in the Media. I don't understand this guy or anyone in their right mind think he's good for America and that he's representative of what our great nation is all about. I think, without a specific reason, that this parade is a bad idea and that it could possibly send the wrong message to other countries. That's just my opinion, though.

What's yours?

Every decision Trump makes in life has one purpose - he wants to bang Ivanka. Sometimes it is conscious and clear like when he put her on his show, when he decided to run for president, the increased child tax credit, this fraudulent family leave proposal, when he gave her a role in the White House, when he gave her husband enough government responsibilities to choke a horse, or when he specifically gave him the highly dangerous responsibility of creating a back channel communication with the Russians.

But other decisions aren't as obvious. This is one of them. My guess is that one of her nannies took her to a parade when she was a kid and reported back to Ivana who told Donald that Ivanka really enjoyed the parade.

So I think that is what is going on here. Trump probably doesn't know that we already have Veteran's Day and Memorial Day but that is just aside from the fact that Trump got hand jobs from his mom for good grades as a child and that has helped arrest his development as a human being and triggered his feelings of incest.

I don't know it for a fact but I know it's true.

But to answer the question, it is a bad idea as it is a waste of my tax dollars. Correct me if I'm wrong but our soldiers need proper training, equipment, support, respect, care, and some need an occasional blow job. They don't need confetti and traffic tied up for hours.

This reeks of hey look at me, I love our military.

It's nice to honor the military but a parade is pointless unless there's a victory.

This like most everything he does is to get people to pay attention to anything other than the Russia investigation.

Personally I love parades but I'm not sure exactly what this is going to accomplish. On CNN today most military official's have said they think it's a bad idea. The US isn't the kind of country to trot soldier's, equipment and so forth down Pennsylvania Avenue.

Besides it's it usually communist countries like Russia, North Korea, China and Cuba that like doing this kind of stuff. Flexing their muscles so to speak. Anyway, apparently the US has one of the most powerful military's in the world, and I don't think they need to show it off.

Plus what a huge waste of money and time for those involved. Knowing Trump though, there will be some sort of a parade. And it will be billed by him on Twitter as "The biggest, best, most powerful military parade the world has ever seen."

Anything that Donald Trump does or says, many are going to feel that there's some ulterior motive whether there actually is one or not. That's Trump's own fault because of the man's exhaustive history of self-aggrandizement and self-promotion.

The feeling I ultimately get from this: it's a purely political move designed for Trump to play up to his base of followers and to draw more attention to himself. Is it a good move or a bad move? Doesn't really matter when you get right down to it. The anti-Trump movement will crap all over it, just as they do with everything else he does, while most of his supporters will be all for it because, in the eyes of many, he can pretty much do no wrong.

If Trump wants to honor soldiers and veterans, I'd be impressed if he did something that's more than just window dressing, which is all a parade is. How about tearing up that ban on transgendered men and women from serving? How about doing everything possible, and I mean EVERYTHING, to see that soldiers and veterans are able to get the physical and psychiatric care that they need? How about doing everything he can to ensure that they get all the benefits they're supposed to without going through endless bureaucratic red tape? How about doing everything he can to improve conditions in VA hospitals and facilities in general?

To go a little further on the transgender deal, I don't care what sex or sexual orientation a soldier is. If that person prefers dicks to pussy or vice versa, I don't care. If that person was born with a dick or a pussy but wants to have the other someday because they feel they were born in the wrong body, I don't care. If they're willing to sign on the dotted line, if they're willing to endure the sacrifices that every other soldier is willing to endure, then they deserve the same respect.

Do all these things, Mr. President, or at least try, really, really try, to do them and then you can jerk off to how much of a patriot you are. I'll even buy you a big ass box of tissues with an even bigger ass bottle of Jergen's.

We have parades in Greece as well. Student parades in every town, plus military parade in Athens.

They're pretty pointless actually.

From POV, he just does that in order to show off. I think Kim does the same and so did Russia at one point, although I don't knwo if Russia still has the military parade. But it really accomplishes nothing.

I was never fan of parades and always found them pointless.

IMO, that's one of the many things that say "hey, I'm a good president, look at me", but in reality are pretty vain.
