**MERGED** CM Punk heel turn? (Keep it in here!!!!)

Yet again WWE is too chickenshit to make Heel Cena. This was the 1000 RAW do something SPECIAL. How is Heel Punk special?

Unless he ends up in a stable with DB and Dean Ambrose, this was just their way of putting over Super Cena yet again. WWE officially is becoming WCW.

Upsetting, the wwe has little to no good faces left, and now one of the top guys is turning heel?? Really!? Really!? Really!? STUPID! STUPID! STUPID! Was very disappointed with the ending, one less face with no hardly any faces. But hey all you Cena haters should be happy, Cena will get more airtime as supercena ;).

The only good thing that could come from this is if Stone Cold Steve Austin was to return and have a WM 29 match up with CM Punk, that is the only good thing that could happen from this. But that's just my opinion, I mean sorry but Zack Ryder isn't main event material, most of the faces are hardly over, way to many heels.

cm punk leaving the ring and coming back in and attacking the rock was a dope ending compared to what i thought was gonna be bs ending with the big slow

but how do we know its a heel turn

he was obviously defending himself from the rock who called him out

anyways im guessing this is the big summer angle or maybe one of them especially with lesnar

I see it as a return to what he was last year at MITB, not so much a heel as a tweener. More so a face to the "hardcore" fans. Even on the WWE website they seem to be walking the line on this one, wondering if Punk is actually justified in what he did.

Next week should be interesting, but I don't really see a heel turn working. Sure he got booed for cheap shotting The Rock, but I see this more along the lines of an Austin turn. It may get the initial reaction, but the fans like him, they will continue to cheer.

Actually, I didn't even think it was a heel turn....until Cole and Lawler started pushing it as such. I was totally unimpressed with the show as a whole, but at least we can now be entertained by the real C.M. Punk again. I just wish he would have picked up the mike and said "do I have everybody's attention now?"

Okay.

I'll agree with people who are saying that Punk is much better as a heel, which is true. I'm all for a heel turn but the one question I'm asking myself is...was it really necessary? I mean you look at the roster and a good portion of the roster are already heels.

You have Del Rio,Miz,Ziggler,Jericho,Big Show,Daniel Bryan,Kane(?) and even a possibility that Randy Orton could come back as a heel, and now Punk.

Do we really need any more heels? Punk was doing fine as a face. He's had a very successful title reign so far and continuously gets one of the bigger reactions of the night. I just don't see the point...

However,if what any indication is hinting towards. Punk is set to face Rock in the future and chances are, when your facing the Rock, people are going to side with Dwayne. Then again,Cena faced Rock and never made a turn.

Who knows. I like Punk as face and I like him equally as a heel and I'm sure he'll still be enjoyable ether way. Besides,I'm sure this was Punk influence anyway. I just don't think it's necessary. I'm just one guy on the internet though...what do I know?

this

rock is nearly knocked out from one clothesline??? one?!??! and the GTS is quite possibly the lamest finishing move ever. doesn't even look like it would hurt at all. Probably him picking you up would be the most "painful" part

dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb

wwe missed a golden opportunity to do what nobody thought was possible, would've been a much more exciting angle in my opinion. many acknowledge cena having a heel turn would be exciting, but in actuality nobody expects it to occur. great swerve ending...cena turns heel, attacks rock after he helped him, You can't see me to the entire WWE universe

it will be interesting. i think he's going to be a heel, but it wont be a typical heel as he will have many cheer him and i think he could go back to his old pipebombs which got him over in the first place.

they can always turn a heel face or move up a midcarder to main event to have another top face. the guy who likely will be moved to face is Jericho, i'm not worried about the number of faces, plus, they could just keep Punk a tweener, though i think wwe will try to turn Punk heel.

I'm not sure why you think a knee driven straight to the face wouldn't hurt. it is definitely one of the most painful looking moves in the WWE right now.

Sup guys. Long time lurker first time poster. Geeze that was dissapointing booking to say the least. The match started late and screamed run-in but I feel like it was poorly executed. Punk looked weak after all the hype being a "take on all comers" type of champ. What sucks even more is the i nevitable cop out promo Punk will give next week explaining himself. WWE had another shot at catching lightning in a bottle tonight and they screwed up in my book.

Bc he doesn't even connect with it

F5, codebreaker, RKO, brogue kick, are all "stronger" looking. GTS isn't worst in WWE, I mean Miz, Brodus, Christian's 1500 second windup...yeah, those are worse.

look, I see the vast majority of people disagree, which is fine...i like reading others' opinions whilst also sharing mine

No, the lamest finishing move ever would be the People's Elbow. It's a fucking running elbow drop! What is so devastating about a move that is just an elbow drop after a guy has run the ropes? The Worm was just as bad, but Rock won championships, WWF championships, with the People's Elbow.

As far as Punk's heel turn goes: awesome! The ending of Raw was perfect. It was exactly what they needed to do to hopefully pull in the fans that watched tonight because of nostalgia. Those people just saw one of their guys (The Rock) get taken out by one of these new guys (Punk) and that might get them to tune in next week. Great cliff hanger.

I also wonder if this means Summerslam's main event will be Punk vs. Rock. I know that Rock said he's fighting for the title at the Rumble, but the way Raw ended, maybe he comes back next week and says, "Screw the Rumble! I want my title match in LA... at Summerslam!" But maybe we'll just get a three-way with Punk, Show and Cena. I don't know, and that's what is great about how the show ended; a lot of ambiguity as to what will happen next.

But one thing we do know is we will see, at some point, a Punk-Rock match; after the way Raw ended tonight, I think that is a Vince McMahon-sized guaran-damn-tee.

well the rock usually does elbow after a rock bottom, which doesn't look like it hurts much either. maybe it's nostalgia (very powerful thing) but the sort of extra stuff the rock does makes it for me (eyebrow, sweatband, dance thing)...much more entertaining than Punk's putting head on hands taunt

well punk turnnig heel well what does he do now ? punk vs rock is months away if he even has the belt then and what was the point you have a lot of heels but not that many faces but i guess as long as you have cena you dont need anyone else

Drop your critic standpoint for a moment and think from a fan standpoint.

CM Punk's character was great a year ago, and has gone a little stale. He needed a change, and who the hell saw this coming? I, as a fan, was entertained and a little shocked. I enjoyed that aspect.

If you're going to build a summer angle around CM Punk vs. The Rock, I'll watch it. CM Punk is one of the best nowadays on the mic. His promos with The Rock have potential, but I thought The Rock was pretty mediocre in promos with Cena.

It's different. It's a change. It's an entertainment show. I'll watch next week.

I beg to differ. The ambiguity was my one issue with this ending. It all felt random and unwarranted. Two Show run-ins? Really? I underatand the big payoff will be Rock Cena 2 with the title on the line but I was really hoping to see a passing of the torch tonight. I guess my hopes were lying elsewhere.

Punk becoming stale? Naw he just had lame competition. Most of his fueds over the title were against cookie cutter heels that brought nothing to the table storywise.

Let's be honest.

This is only happening because there is no way that Cena or Rock will go heel.

CM Punk is money making thorn in the side of the creative team and the idiots who rely on the creative team to have any kind of appeal. When fans relentlessly cheer for someone, they will abandon the art-form if their will is denied.

It's okay for us to see CM Punk lose, or even give up the title. What we'll never allow to happen, and this is what pains Cena and Rock the most, is CM Punk being written off the show.

This bland attempt at making CM Punk look callous and undeserving in his reign as champion was a pathetic one. I don't care if the WWE champion is noble in his prescribed efforts, I care if he's good in the ring. The one thing they'll never be able to tell CM Punk to do is give 99%.

Oh yeah, fuck Stephanie McMahon and the shit stains she and her blonde bitch left on this world. That fucking stupid cunt wants to leave an impression on the minds of young fans that Paul Heyman is a failure? When the wwe was hemorrhaging cash, they adopted Paul Heyman's vision of organized chaos and did a pretty shit job of it. If it weren't for the spontaneous outbursts of Stone Cold and the exploitation of Sable, Steph and her fucking kids would be living on minimum wage. It's all a show, right? No, it's an attempt by the McMahon dynasty to whitewash history and leave Vince's asshole in it's place.

I do agree with most of what you said but I don't really think Punk has gotten stale at all. I've been enjoying Punk as a face and have for awhile now. I was initially reluctant about Punk as a face but Punk soon won the crowd over and got consistently loud ovations no matter where he went. Speaking as both a fan and a critic, I prefer Punk as a face or at least not as a heel at this stage. However, you are right. I don't think many people saw this coming. I'm definitely tuning in next week.

All i have to say is.. Awesome.. that was a great heel turn, i was just expecting punk to walk out and that be it, but when he attacked the rock i was kind of in shock and suprised at the same time... I hope he goes back to a type of tweener like he was last summer talking about all the stuff that is bothering him with the company

This "heel turn" didn't make any sense to me. It doesn't feel like a legitimate turn. CM Punk and The Rock were never friends or partners. Rock challenged Punk for the title, so any physicality that would have happened between the two would've been expected.

Punk, Cena, and Rock were all fan favorites who all wanted a match against one another for the title. I don't understand how Punk attacking his title challenger make him a heel. Cena attacked Rock before and that didn't turn him heel. I don't get it.

Perhaps people are jumping the gun with the heel turn thing. I guess we really won't know for sure until next week. For what it's worth though, King did mention something along the lines of Punk "turning his back on the WWE Universe" or something like that. At the very least, a full blown heel turn was implied. Of course, you know what they say about people who assume. :p

If this was supposed to be a heel turn, then it didn't shock me. There was no surprise in seeing CM Punk take out The Rock. If Punk and Rock were friends or a tag team, the turn would've made sense and have shock value, but both never cared for each other.

We all had that coming eventually. CM Punk was bound to put his hands on The Rock.

Just one week ago people were pissing and moaning that Cena was getting the belt back. Now Cena doesn't get the belt and people are still pissing and moaning. You see why no one in the industry takes the IWC serious? You get what you want and still proceed to cry like babies.

I don't think it's going to be a full heel turn. After Punk left the ring people were still cheering for him. Punk is going back to being a tweener. Which is the best thing for his character. Punk is too popular to ever go back to being a full fledged heel.

I like Punk as a heel or face I really don't care. The fact that he walked out with the belt tonight makes me even more happy.

BTW about Cena, it's time to deal with it. He sells the most merchandise meaning he brings in more $$$ than anyone else. They are not going to turn him heel. As much as I would LOVE to see it turning him heel is a horrible business decision. That would be like the WWF turning Hogan heel when the red and yellow is going strong.

I know I can't speak for the IWC as a whole but all most people want is for Cena to lose in a clean fashion. No run-ins, no screw jobs. Just to see Cena get outhearted by another guy. I understand the kiddies want to see Cena prevail and that means more cash but it.ends up creating insane standards the rest of the roster can't fullfill when it's their time to carry the company.
