The camera pans out as we see a WZCW Award sitting on a desk. Beside it is an identical trophy with the name plate reading 2012 instead. The room is dark with a bright spotlight shining over the desk. The swivel chair turns and Showtime David Cougar appears on camera. His eyes hidden behind a ridiculously expensive pair of shades, he smiles a sly little cocky smile and rubs his chin a little as if he has something to say. Showtime leans back and removes the pair of shades and then slides them forward on the desk. He then leans up on top of the desk, hands locked together as he faces directly at the camera.
Showtime:Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to The Show! You all know me, but if for some reason your memory is fleeting, due to the watered down product youve been viewing on WZCW of late, then let these two awards remind you all just how great I am. I am Showtime David Cougar! The best wrestler in WZCW two years running. Thats right dear fans, for two years now nobody has been able to do what Ive been able to inside that ring. I have beaten the best and held the WZCW Title for a record three times. Greatness like this only comes around once in a generation. You all should feel blessed to bear witness to me, groveling at my feet for me to stay longer. Alas though, none of that has happened. I announced my departure and you all couldnt wait to kick me out the door on my way out. All the blood and sweat that I poured inside the ring for you people and that was the thanks I got? No heroes farewell, no tribute show, or best of highlights. There was barely a peep mentioned on air about my retirement. For WZCWs greatest, and dare I say only, legend that is unacceptable. And whats most baffling of all is, while I have been neglected and forgotten in my short one month absence, you all still reminisced about the good olde days where Everest was a champion and things were much simpler in WZCW back then. There wasnt twenty world class wrestlers banging on your door to get a title shot like when I was champion. Hell, there was barely twenty people on the active roster for crying out loud. WZCW was a bush league back then, but despite it all Everest is still regarded as one of the best; WZCWs original legend. Let me ask you all now, how many Wrestler of the Year awards has Everest won, how many World Championships has he captured, how many wins does he have against loses. I dont need to give you all the specifics, just the straight facts, and that is that I am better and have won more than Everest couldve ever hoped to win in his entire career.
Showtime looks down at the two awards sitting on his desk. He turns the most recent one and rubs the gold plate on it to make it shine a little more. He slides it back beside the other one and turns back to the camera.
And Titus well, hes no different from Everest. The only difference between him and Everest is that Everest knew when to pack it in and leave. Everest took his ball and went home without any warning because he knew that he was no match against people like me, against some of the challengers that I had to face. It was the best decision that he made in his career. He saved his legacy from any further tarnishment that he was causing it. Titus career on the other hand is continuing to spiral down the toilet. The more times that he steps into the ring, the more losses that he begins to accumulate, the more embarrassing moments that he gets to endure, the more that new fans forget that Titus was once great. Titus on the outside appears to have a legacy that cannot be damaged, but lets not fool ourselves. The longer any athlete continues to push themselves, the more they ruin their legacy. Michael Jordan, greatest basketball player ever, with the Bulls anyway. Fortunately for him though, his years with the Wizards were so bad that nobody remembers him playing there. People remember his failed attempt at baseball more than they remember his final comeback. Brett Farve, more games played than anyone else in the NFL. The last we saw of him he was helped off the field, his consecutive games streak finally came to an end, and worst of all, he was no longer the most loved man in Green Bay. Roger Clemens, I dont need to go into any details about that train wreck. The point is, the longer we stay competing past our prime, the more damage we do to our legacy. Titus is begging to have just one last match against me. Management is already jumping the gun on this, advertising that the match will happen at Unscripted. Ha!
Showtime chuckles and laughs a little as he calms down to speak in a serious tone.
Showtime verse Titus will NEVER happen! Titus doesnt deserve a match against me and I wont help him pull his career out of the gutter hes put it in. My contract, my career ends after the most historic event in WZCW history, Meltdown 100, and it will be the last time you ever see Showtime inside a WZCW ring again. And then, when I am inducted into the WZCW Hall of Fame at Kingdom Come VI, you will all appreciate what you had and show a little respect at last for the man who gave you that entertainment!
Showtime leans back and calms down considerable. He smiles and swings his arms to the side.
And Titus, Im sure hell be competing in some sort of pre-show match against, I dont know, Johnny Scumm in a legends match. Theres some bad blood in that feud. Ask Baez, hes seen Scumm beat Titus before.
Showtime smiles and taps his fingers on the desk and clears his throat.
And now lets set the stage for what should be the biggest match on the card. I say should because just my luck, two other legends decided to pull on the tights one more time and compete. Big Dave, Ty Burna, what have they ever done to help WZCW? Ty Burna nearly destroyed WZCW, and Dave is no longer capable of making a dime inside the ring, and yet somehow is an even worse General Manager. No matter, whats done is done, and I do wish my former adversaries good luck in their match, but now I turn my attention over to one of my more recent rival. Oh you didnt know? Your ass better be listening to me, the person Im going to face at Meltdown 100 is, Drake Callahan! Yea, Oklahoma told me Titus gave it all away at the WZCW Awards Show on Afterthought. No idea why they still didnt announce him as my opponent. Its little things like that that prove the quality has dipped a little here since I stepped away from the ring. Anyway, Showtime vs Drake..... boring! Haha, no. Its not.
I mean, you know its going to be a highly sound technical game. A few dirty shots will be dished out and somebody most likely will leap from very high up. The match will be great and it will be everything and nothing like youve seen before. Because even though Drake and I have fought this match a hundred times, this time it will be my last match ever. Theres no going back, theres no turning around. When I step into that ring it will be for the last time and it will be the biggest event in this companies history. Drake is a cocky, disrespectful ass, whos gotten the best of me a couple times before, but I guarantee you that wont happen on Meltdown 100. It being my last match, I'm willing to pull out all the stops and inflict as much pain as I need to to defeat Drake. I won't even need to go that far, because even though I have lost to Drake more times than anyone else, never has it been when the stage is this big and hype is this huge. Drake has always fallen under pressure and it will be no surprise when it happens again this weekend. It's funny, over a year ago Drake and I competed in what could've been my final match in WZCW. I defeated him then, and in what will be my last match I will defeat him again. And I promise, for Drake's fragile legacy, I promise to help make it his last match as well. It will be something you don't want to miss.
Showtime gives a cold stare into the camera. A smile curls across his face and he waves at the camera as the scene ends.
