Lockdown '14 — Mr. Anderson v. Samuel Shaw

It's Damn Real!

The undisputed, undefeated TNA &

Shaw, you're one creepy bastard!

This one's been brewing for a few weeks now, and will officially culminate with Shaw's first PPV appearance in TNA (I believe?).

My guess is we're only scratching the surface on him, and on this feud in particular.

Watch your ass, Christy Hemme!

Anderson looks like a Dragonball character in that picture. Shaw looks like Ivan Drago from Rocky 4.

Not much more I wanted to say about this, but Shaw's character has been coming alone nicely. So has Anderson's. Not sure who I want to win.

I think, clearly, Shaw has to come out of this on top, no? I don't want to get too into the generic wrestling terms, but it really would bury the momentum he's building right now if he doesn't find a way to come out of this on top. It also kills the feud off really early.

Ideally, I'd like this to get to another match at Slammiversary, or at whatever the next TVPPV is.

You think they'll give it that much time for the feud to include Anderson? Isn't he still working with Bully Ray on some level? Or maybe a meeting of minds... creepy Shaw + Creepy Ray versus Anderson + someone...

I don't think so, no. Not after that Casket match. I think that as a bit of a send-off for Ray. Maybe to rehab injury, or just get time off or something.

I think the creepy link is just coincidental.

well, it's a match. not sure if i like the idea of a feud. the character of Shaw is that he's an obsessed stalker type of Hemme's, but he's feuding with Anderson who just came off a feud where Ray was threatening to injure him so bad that his wife and kids wouldnt know him....kinda odd there, but they should have a great match. hopefully Shaw can go in the ring. it's too soon to answer how good or bad he is there. his character has potential and hopefully they develop it when the time is right as i like the stalker/psycho type of gimmick he has as he plays creepy very well.

There is no reason for Anderson to lose. I actually think it would be a horrible idea for him to lose. For those not keeping track, he is basically TNA's #2 face behind Samoa Joe. Kurt Angle's status remains a mystery due to his health right now and his contract may come into question. Anderson is a very likely candidate as Magnus' next challenger should Joe fail and Aries' latest turn stick.

All Samuel has to do is look good before taking the fall. He is a complete rookie with little experience. This is his first live PPV (he was in TNA's first 2 One Night Only shows) and this is pretty much his first notable match since adopting the "American Psycho/I look like Christian Bale" gimmick he has. There's no need to rush in his success. I'm sure that will come. But Anderson is too much of a key player right now to lose to the rookie.

Well apparently, OVW actually works! I remember Shaw from when he appeared on the GutCheck segment. He was your everyday rookie, shouting in his entrance and jumping all over the place. These backstage segments he's appeared in and the incident with Mr Anderson were great. He's playing this creepy, dangerous and nightmarish character excellently and that's only from a few 2 minute appearances. His clothing style is something different to the everyday wrestler (see how he's changed from being the everyday guy?) and he has a gimmick different to the flashy and arrogant heel. I'm looking forward to this push of the mid-card which looks like Shaw is included in.

As far as the match goes, I'm not sure who should win. It would really hinder Shaw's push but at the same time, would stop Anderson's too. Shaw's the mid-carder you want to see run with the main eventers and see if he really is what he makes out to be, similar to EC3. That would change should he lose. There could be a draw, an interference (Bully Ray, perhaps?) or a very rare situation in which the loser as well as the winner look strong in the match and in the outcome as well. The uncertainty makes me want to watch this event even more.
