Your iPod does support a lossless file though Ty, the .m4a extension that iTunes uses is lossless quality, shit if you Google "Apple Lossless" into any music part of a torrents engine you'll get a shitload of lossless music you can put on your iPod. I used to have nothing but lossless files on my iPod but they just took up way too much space and the thing's only got an 80GB drive, which isn't nearly enough for a music fanatic like myself. Nowadays so long as the bitrate is atleast 200kbps I'll throw it on my iPod, but I refuse to listen to 128kbps for anything but like hardcore punk, because it doesn't really make much of a difference with hardcore.

Eh I prefer FLAC over .m4a to be honest. When I download lossless files I typically just leave them on my PC rather than put them on my iPod for the reasons you listed, they take up way too much space. I'm usually good if it's 192kbps or above, I can handle 192 but I prefer it to be much higher.

And yes, for hardcore you almost have to listen to that shit at 128kbps. It's just more natural that way.

Speaking of punk, X you ever get into the vinyl scene for punk/thrash/screamo? I still have a solid 80-100 LP/EP collection sitting around here somewhere.
