Layne Staley

Life's A Bitch, And Then You Mosh
I needed some music, and decided to put on the Alice In Chains Best Of The Box CD on. For some reason, it was like hearing it for the first time, all over again. Layne is amazing. His voice is perfect for their songs, and he was a good frontman, no matter how strung out he was.

Discuss his greatness here.

Layne was indeed a great singer, and I love Alice in Chains. But to credit Layne with all of the bands successes is a little lopsided. While I love Laynes vocals (tied for best of the "grunge" movement, with Ed Vedder), I don't think anybody should discount Jerry's harmonys.

Getting back to the topic though, I'm jealous that you have their best of cd. I can only imagine how it must sound, listening to the one "junky" I enjoy the music of. Great thread, dedicated to a true legend of our times!!!
